I think that this board is FANTASTIC!!

I have been doing some research on discounts on AP holders....

does anyone know when the "discount" rates are published or when they are available??

I am looking to go in April....but if I can stay in a Deluxe at a Moderate rate...that would be a great suprise to my friends!!

Any info will help....I think I just made my decision even harder now....and time is a tickin away!!

Thanks!!:earsboy:

Have you checked out www.mousesaver.com ? If not you should check it out. They usually post all discount codes that are available.

Disney usually announces 2-3 month blocks, less than a month before the beginning of the block:confused:

The current discounts went from october to december and was announced in september

I believe this past year the Winter block ended on April 15 or so.

I guess what I am saying is that Disney could announce sometime between January and March.

Thanks for the tip....

Another Question....can I book now at the higher rate and when/if the cheaper rate comes along change it to the lower? I am not sure that I even understand that...

Is it worth it??

Yes, definitely. Book now at rack or AAA rate, then keep an eye on the resort forum and mousesavers for when the codes come out...then let the craziness begin! Usually the codes for AP (Annual Pass) holders come out first, then codes for the general public and Florida residents. If you can be flexible with your dates and resorts, you can probably get a good deal. And keep trying, don't give up if nothing is available at first. People call repeatedly; some CM's are more helpful than others at CRO. Have them check each individual night with the codes instead of a week at a time; sometimes that works better as well. Good luck!

CRO is Central Reservations Office that handles room only reservations (can cancel up to 5 days without penalty) as opposed to Disney Travel Agency # which is geared more toward booking packages (need to cancel 45 days prior or incur a penalty) This info is from the Unofficial Guide to WDW.
