I tried priceline several times today to try to get either April or a weekend in May and finally got success for a weekend in May.Just a quick trip but I bid 39 dollars for a 3* or above and was confirmed for the Wyndham on International Drive.Has anyone ever stayed there? Their web site looks good.We usually camp at FW but since it was just for the weekend we thought we would give priceline a try again but did not want to pay for anything more than we would have for camping. The prices on the hotels web site list rooms from 129 and up.

That's a great deal for that hotel. Did you use the Amex bonus money offer? There are several very positive reviews of this hotel in the Hotel Reviews section of the board I host to discuss Priceline bidding at http://pub4.************/bpricelineandexpediabidding

Hi mum4jenn

The Wyndham Orlando is a very nice hotel.
We have stayed there twice on priceline bids and have been very happy.

The staff are all very friendly, pools are beautiful, they have a nice pool bar/restaurant, a Haagen Daaz ice cream shoppe, the rooms are comfortable and they provide Bath and Body Works toiletries which I just love!

Hope you have a great time.

We just stayed there for 5 nights 2/8-2/13. It was beautiful and quiet and the staff was VERY friendly and helpful. I DEFINITELY recommend it!

Their deli is very reasonable (HUGE sandwiches-- enough for 2 people if you get it on bread. $4.25 for a very thick sandwich.)

A couple tips:

Sign up for the Wyndham by Request club online at their site, and they waived the $10/night frig fee for us and brought a plate of fruit and juice the first day, plus turn down service with chocolates each night.

There's a Wal-Mart Supercity a couple miles down Sand Lake Road--when coming out of the Wyndham property, go right on Sand Lake Road across Universal Blvd and then a mile or 2. You'll see it on your right (on John Young Blvd, I think it was). Groceries there I'm sure are MUCH cheaper than the other grocery stores we checked on I-Drive. (We ended up buying groceried at the Wal-Mart in Merrit Island on the way back from Cocoa Beach, then noticed the Wal-mart off Sand Lake Road, so we never went in. Prices for groceries on I-Drive were OUTRAGEOUS! It was 1/3 -1/2 the price at Wal-Mart!) :)

Have a great trip!

I stayed there one night in December. For what I paid, it was OK. I would never use the word "quiet" to describe it, especially if you get a room near the road. We had a huge cockroach in the room. I called someone to come and remove it; took over 45" and when they did finally show up, it was too late to disturb my elderly mom. My friends had a room way in the back, despite the fact that I thought the front desk people understood my request to place them in the room next to us. They said the back was dirty

You know, it looked like our room (and that entire building) had been recently painted with new bed coverings and furniture and big fluffy towels. I wonder if they just redid everything??
It would make sense that the back buildings would be the last to be completed.

The room was spotless-- very clean. (In fact, we were told by one of the condo companies that we sat through for cheap tickets that the Wyndham is one of the best for cleanliness...)

Our room was on the inside, facing a lagoon, so that's why it was quiet. I suppose if you were facing the road, it wouldn't be so quiet, but most of the hotel seemed to be set back quite a bit from the surrounding roads...

If you read the other posts suggested (on TravelSheryl's board), I can't remember any of them being negative.

I do think a key is joining the Wyndham by Request club. You get treated like "royalty".

We stayed at the Wyndham I-Drive in October and it was wonderful -- clean, quiet and beautiful. The pools were great, there are 3 of them plus a kiddie pool. The staff was wonderful and I joined Wyndham by Request before we got there. There was a nice basket of fruit, cheese, wine and beer waiting for us. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.

I forgot to add to my post that our room was in one of the back buildings and it was still great!

This hotel is AWESOME! We stayed there for 6 nights last July 4th. Big fluffy towels were in our room too! This is a big place with gorgeous lagoons and right next door to Ripley's Believe It or Not. Tons of great places within walking distance, FAO Schwartz down the street near WonderWorks; also a Titanic exhibit. There is a trolley that'll take you up and down I-Drive. On our check out night, guess who we sighted at the poolside bar??? 3 of the guys from N'Sync!! It was so cool and the PERFECT ending to a completely wonderful trip!! We got ours for $32/night and used $20 Amex bonus money. It was just great!! ENJOY!!

That's such a great deal!! Can you tell me what area you specified for this deal? Was it DisneyWorld vicinity and Kissimmee vicinity?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am also going in May. Plan to go every year now that our daughter is almost 2 years old.
