We have 5 adults and four kids DD10, DD7, DS4, and DD2. What characters usually attend this lunch? Will it be crazy and chaotic? How is the food? We haven't been to Disney in about 10 years--and never with kids--what should we expect???
Thanks!

we have found garden grill to be one of the less chaotic... maybe because we've always sat in a booth and cannot see the characters until they arrive and neither can the people near us (so there's no "MICKEY! MICKEY! OVER HERE! OVER HERE!") plus it's a sit-down meal where they bring your food in family sized skillets so no up/down for buffet... it's actually a nice quiet relaxing meal w/great character interaction!
when we were there we had mickey, chip, dale and pluto (i think)... it is one of our family's faves! :)

This is a great character meal - IIRC you have mickey, chip and dale and they are lots of fun. Home style bbq serve yourself and as much as you like. Its a very cool place as the restaurant revolves allowing you to see some of living with the land. We have had great character interaction here - enjoy!

For my sistes and me it wouldn't be a complete Disney vacation unless we had one meal at the Garden Grill. The characters you will meet are Mickey, Pluto and Chip & Dale. The food is good and is served family style and there is one menu. Everyone stays at their table and the characters come to you.
By all means go and ENJOY!!!

Thanks to all who have posted such wonderful things about Garden Grill! You have just re-affirmed my decision to have our Thanksgiving meal there during lunch! Went back and forth on where to enjoy this meal. It will be nice to be seated and let the characters come to us. My DD is always afraid that as soon as she gets up to go to a buffet, the characters will come. So, we usually spend lots of time waiting and not much time eating.
Can't wait. Will they serve traditional fare at Thanksgiving?

We ate there last year for Thanksgiving lunch, and I do know tht we ate turkey, stuffing, and mashed potatoes, which to me is traditional Thanksgiving food. We definitely enjoyed it, and I'm sure you will too!

I am confused a bit...there is the Garden Grove in Epcot...and Gullivers Garden Grill a the Swan....which one is everyone commenting on? I know Gullivers at the Swan does not rotate (tho that would be VERY cool!) We have PS's for Christmas day at the Swan/Gullivers Holiday Buffet....any clarification out there?
TIA,

FINFAN, the restaurant in the Land Pavillion at EPCOT is called the Garden Grill. That's the one everyone is talking about, it's a character meal. :)
disneyfreak2127, I believe turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy are all part of their every day menu (it was when I ate there anyway) so you will definitely get your thanksgiving meal! :) I don't know if they will change anything for that day but their menu also includes salad, bread, fried catfish, beef tenderloin and apple crisp al a mode for dessert. :)
We had dinner there on our trip in September. It was one of the best Character meals I have been to. It was so relaxing and we had the characters come around many times. It was great to have your food brought to you instead of having to get up and get it. This is one meal we will always do.

We've been very happy with the character interaction at Garden Grill, and also with the food! If you're sitting on the outside, it's like having the characters in your own private room.
It was at Garden Grill that I learned (through character pantomime) that Chip and Dale BOTH have two teeth, but Chip's are together in the middle, whereas Dale's are separated!

We went to the Garden Grill just on a whim during our last trip in September. I had no idea what to expect but it was such a plesant surprise. We sat at a booth and the characters came right over to us. They spent so much time at our table the CM's though we knew them :)
The food was pretty good as well. The strawberry shortcake is to DIE for!!!!!
