Anyone have any positive or negative experiences to share? We are looking to rent a minivan for 10 days, and are thinking about priceline as a possible way to keep our costs down. Any suggestions?

we rented a premium car through priceline for 10 days at 30.00 a day in Sept ,we got there and they were out of premuim (they were cheaper than a minivan,we have 6 people) so they upgraded us to a luxury and we got a lincoln towncar.plenty of room for all 6 of us and we had no trouble with priceline or the rental company which was budget.
We will be doing it again through priceline.

We rented through Priceline in Jan. We got a great deal for a Mid-size car through National. We had no problems at all. We will definetly try it again. We offered $16.00 a day and got it.

I bid on a "standard" car for Feb. got one through Alamo for 15.00 per day. Since Alamo does not have a "standard" they put us in a full size. Still not sure if a Malibu is a "full size car", but, it worked for us. The total was 140.00 for the week (included taxes etc. and pricelines' admin fee.)

We got a mini van through Priceline this month, $28 a day with Alamo. I read some posts on here from people that got a minivan for less than that through Priceline. Still was a good deal and Alamo was very quick and easy!

We rented an economy car a week ago from Florida Auto Rental. With taxes, charges, etc. the total bill was $101.50 for the week.
I did a search on onetravel.com to find that rate. Priceline couldn't beat it -- I tried.
They are offsite, but when we called for the shuttle, they were at the airport in less than 10 minutes. It only took 5 minutes to get to the rental office, and we were the only ones in the shuttle van when we arrived and when we departed. I would say it was well worth renting off-terminal. Very quick and good service...

goldendanno....how DID you do that?!? I have been tearing my hair out on all the rental car sites AND priceline, and the cheapest I can get starting March 9 for 5 days is $29!! For a COMPACT!! I don't know if I should've done this in December when I found out we were going or what...it's really frustrating to see the great rates others are getting!! All I want is something more substantial than a tin can and that will hold 2 adults and young future NBA star who's 13 and needs more leg room than I!!! :(

golden,
I wonder why yours is less than mine was at the same location, for the same amount of time, and the same size? Just checked mine and it was a 145.(plus change) for a 15.00 per day through Alamo. That included pricelines' fee.
Hint, if you have Quick Silver, you can use their counter for Priceline rentals.
