I do not see price line used much on the boards. Any reason why? Should i consider them for car rental in august?

I myself would not use them for a flight, but I have used it for a rental car. since you don't know who or what you are going to get a lot of people don't like to use it while others will use nothing but. I think its all a matter of preference.

A lot of people have had good luck with both Priceline and Hotwire for rental cars. However, I used National on my last trip and between the Disney Club contract code and DC coupon I scored a Full Sized car for 10 days for $160 before taxes and $216 including all taxes. That's $16 per day!

I use them almost exclusively for hotels. End up staying a some really nice hotels, really cheaply. Used them once for airline with good results. Pretty much have to be willing to lose 2 days of your vacation if you use them for air, as you could get a late flight going down and an early flight coming back.
I wouldn't use them for car rental as you can get just as good of deals conventionally and you know that the company you are renting from will be at the airport (no shuttle).

I've used them for rental cars, and I love them. I don't book too far in advance, because you prepay. You never know with those dot-coms these days....
