I have lots of questions. I have never been to WDW and decided to take my son for his birthday surprise. My budget is tight (going thru a divorce). I booked the Four Points Sheraton Lakeside and am not renting a car. We arrive about 4pm on Friday 3/30 and will have a flight out at 7pm Monday 4/2. I plan on only doing 2 parks MK and AK. So friday and monday are unplanned. Is there anything I can do that a shuttle will provide from the Sheraton to entertain my son. Restaurants I am curious about on these 2 days since we will not be in the park. Any suggestions would be great. I want this to be special for him. He has been a trooper thru this divorce, he will be 7.

Something you may want to consider is using Priceline for your hotel. You could save more than half of what you are paying by booking through the hotel directly. Your hotel savings and not having to take a shuttle to/from the airport could be more than enough to substantiate renting a car. Since you have all day on Monday, I think you may feel somewhat isolated without a car, and you'll waste a lot of time depending on shuttle schedules.

The Four Points Lakeside has a Pizza Hut on site with room delivery, so that could solve your dining situation on Friday, since you're arriving late in the afternoon.
For Monday, I'd recommend DisneyQuest at DTD. Since you won't have a car, see if the hotel will hold your bags while you and he spend the day at DQ before your flight home.
I have to agree, without a car you will be somewhat isolated. There are several restaurants along 192 near the hotel, but there is also a lot of roadwork right now. Check with some of the rental car companies for weekend specials.
Good luck and have fun! :)

I just got back from a weekend at the 4 pts sheraton. I bid on priceline for 25.00 and got it. Total price with tax, and hotel charges 68.00 for two nights. It is a nice place, clean, big rooms. Kids eat free at Breakfast buffet with paying adult $5.95. Pizza hut is a little more $$ But convenient. Try priceline for the hotel, and then for a car. I bid 3 stars, Kissimee and Lake Buena Vista area. Won on 2nd try. Im not sure what your paying?

Just to clarify, Priceline rates the Four Points Sheraton as a 2* (unless they've re-rated it as a 2-1/2 star, but definitely not a 3*) and it's located in the Disney Vicinity zone. There is no zone limited to Lake Buena Vista.
