Yeah I was. I'd never seen Song of the South until recently (found it on DVD on eBay), now that I have, the ride makes more sense. However,.....I can understand why it's not in distribution anymore.....too bad, 'cause it's a beautiful film.

Actually I believe the correct answer is zero.
I was trying to do the math but this answer makes sense. I bet WDW has some way of collecting the rain & funneling it somewhere so that it doesn't fall to the ground.
Interesting question.
MickeyBabe
10-13-2005, 02:51 PM
Glad you liked it Pooh&Piglet. :teeth:
DJen... You are correct!
The rain that falls on SSE is collected through and extensive gutter system and fed directly into the World Showcase lagoon. ::yes::

10-20-2005, 11:04 PM
OK, Since we just returned from seeing opening night of The Lion King stage performance at the Providence Performing Arts Center (which was fabulous, by the way), I'll throw out a LK related question.
Name the first Lion King show to be performed at WDW and for a bonus AAQ, name where it was first performed and where it moved to.
If any of you RI Dis'ers get a chance to see it while it's at the PPAC, make sure you do. If you are going to take younger kids however, you should try to do a weekend matinee. My 8yr old DD was a bt tired by the end.
ryley26
10-21-2005, 07:39 AM
princess mindy gets the last one :cool1: the lion king show at m.k it was a puppet show they move it to japan maybe

Festival of the Lion King
Mickey_Maniac
10-21-2005, 01:04 PM
Nope again. FoTLK is the one that is currently playing at AK. OK, heres another hint. ryley is correct in that it was a puppet show. What was the name? Where was it shown?
LiteBrite
10-21-2005, 04:03 PM
The name was Legend of the Lion King, and is was shown in Fantasyland in the spot that now houses Philharmagic, but I have no idea where it moved after that.
Mickey_Maniac
10-21-2005, 09:51 PM
A roaring AAQ goes to LiteBrite.
A little piece of LK trivia here. When The Legend of the Lion King was first started, it was being shown in a theater very close to where Voyage of the Little Mermaid is now in the Studios. As a matter of fact,it may have been the same theater. I remember walking right up to the Animation Tour entrance and taking a left. We walked down past where the rest rooms are and there was a set of double doors where we went in. I believe those doors are the same that are used to exit the VotLM show. It was quite a while ago. DW and I were on our honeymoon in '91 and first saw LotLK there. The next year, it was moved to where Phillharmagic is now.
Probably more than you wanted to know, but I'm curious if any other Dis'ers remember seeing it there...
LiteBrite
10-22-2005, 09:20 AM
That is really interesting - I had no idea LotLK had started in MGM.
So, here's a new question also involving a theater show:
What was the name of the original attraction in the spot where Soarin now resides, and what was the name of the Vaudeville-style duo featured in one scene of that attraction?
Mickey_Maniac
10-22-2005, 12:08 PM
The show was originally called Kitchen Kabaret (later known as Food rocks). No clue on the duo though...
LiteBrite
10-22-2005, 12:58 PM
Yup, Mickey Maniac, that's the name of the show. Anybody want to take a stab at the duo?

Welcome Oxford :wave2:
I would have to guess Thurl Ravenscroft sang "A Pirates Life for me" and well as being one of the "Mello Men" who vocalized "Grim Grinning Ghosts" for the HM. He also sang the theme song for "The Grinch" although the Grinch himself was voiced by Boris Karloff.
Mr. Ravenscroft is also well known as the original voice of "Tony the Tiger"
