OK all you veteran players - we know this.
Just check your WDW WDS handbook.
See you at the fountain, and remember to bring your long straws.
wdwoldtimer
09-22-2005, 12:31 PM
I'm pretty sure it's called Cindy's Bidet.
Do any of you get the feeling that you've gone back in time?
SpectroMagic*o*
09-22-2005, 12:31 PM
I dont know why I cant think of the name of the fountain! I know I know it...this is gonna bother me! :)
I get to ask a question as well, so while everyone's trying to answer the last question, I'll throw out mine too!
What is Cinderella's last name?
:wizard: :pug:
wdwoldtimer
09-22-2005, 12:39 PM
I don't think Cindy's last name was ever given...but her step mother's last name was Tremaine.
Of course it could be that her name was Cinder Ella and we Americans just mangled it into one word.
mlcar
09-22-2005, 01:09 PM
Great answer OT. I knew you'd come up with it. And by the way, the french translation would be Cindy's Eau du Bidet - just to be classy.
SpectroMagic*o*
09-22-2005, 01:19 PM
I don't think Cindy's last name was ever given...but her step mother's last name was Tremaine.
Of course it could be that her name was Cinder Ella and we Americans just mangled it into one word.
Well, I actually read somewhere that Cinderella's last name was in fact Tramaine! :earsgirl: Good job :cool1:
You get to ask a Q now? I'm still not sure how this works, oops!
:wizard: :pug:
ksdave
09-22-2005, 01:34 PM
OK, here's one to make you think a little:
Based on how the Tinman holds the ax in the Wizard of Oz scene during The Great Movie Ride, is he left-handed or right-handed?
SpectroMagic*o*
09-22-2005, 01:42 PM
Right Handed? (interesting question...I'm gonna take note of that next time, I'll be in MGM in 9 days).
:wizard: :pug:
ksdave
09-22-2005, 01:46 PM
Yes, Spectro gets it "right".
(Just love those 50-50 questions, they go quick :) ).
Next?
wdwoldtimer
09-22-2005, 01:48 PM
Along those lines...
In which hand does Mary Poppins hold her carpet bag?
SpectroMagic*o*
09-22-2005, 01:55 PM
Her left hand?
:wizard: :pug:
Princess Mindy
09-22-2005, 01:59 PM
I'm pretty sure it's called Cindy's Bidet.
Do any of you get the feeling that you've gone back in time?
Not quite..but really good try. You're on the right track with the words not being English...
Any other guesses? :confused3
The question again is:
What is the official name of the fountain in back of Cinderella's Castle?
amandadaddy
09-22-2005, 03:10 PM
I thought her umbrella was in her left hand and her bag was in her right hand.
:earsboy:
DisneyJen
09-22-2005, 03:39 PM
ADaddy I agree ... as you enter that scene Mary Poppins in on your right with her umbrella in the left hand and her bag in the right. Maybe we should all virtually ride GMR :goodvibes
amandadaddy
09-22-2005, 04:22 PM
Good idea Jen! Mouse House Radio is playing alot of Disney Studios tunes this afternoon, so I'm up for a trip on the GMR!
....."One Man's Dream.....laaa,laaa, laa,la,laaa,la,laa,laaa"....... :rolleyes1
....they paid how much for the witch?!?!?!?
:earsboy:
wdwoldtimer
09-22-2005, 05:07 PM
That's almost right. Mary Poppins is holding her bag with her right hand. In her left she's holding machete, not an umbrella.
SpectroMagic*o*
09-22-2005, 05:16 PM
Who is the "Master" of the Haunted Mansion?

Would that be Master Gracie?

I don't think we've answered that one yet.
It's a non-English answer that's not Eau du Bidet. Wow, that doesn't leave much, does it. All that French I learned in charm school is really paying off now.
wdwtheplacetobe
09-23-2005, 08:34 AM
Nope---not Pirates or UE.....This SMELL is very prominent!
I don't have any idea about the fountain.... :confused3

09-23-2005, 09:28 AM
The rain forest is what's burning amidst the sound chain saws and such......
I'm going to cry U-N-C-L-E on the proper name for Cinderella's fountain. I can't find it called by any other name, but I can tell you all sorts of things that I never knew about it and recount stories of multiple marriage proposals by guys a hell of alot more romantic than me that took place in front of it. :teeth:
I'll toss one out:
According to Horizon's, what's the nice thing about traveling to the future?
:earsboy:
wdwoldtimer
09-23-2005, 10:14 AM
The nice thing is it's just beginning.

I'm still stuck on the fountain name. How about Font du Cinderella?
DisneyFreq
09-23-2005, 11:18 AM
I recall a less romantic story associated with that fountain on the "most shocking" thread....someone washing their dentures in it....or was it someone drinking from it? they all start to blend together....
SpectroMagic*o*
09-23-2005, 11:21 AM
Ooh, I got it right, too, yeah!...okay, so I'm gonna ask a question cuz noone's asked one yet

well duh, its a drinking fountain so now I feel stupid. I can't find a name for it other than "Cinderella's fountain". I found an associated question: At Cinderella's Fountain, Cinderella greets six of her animal friends but which one is different than the other five?
Now, its been years since I've been....don't think I've ever seen this fountain. Is the different one like, a three legged deer named lucky or something?

Wow, eight more? This one is tough, Adaddy.
How about on the porch at Mickey's Country House in Mickey's Toontown Fair/Starland/Birthday Land/whatever? Or maybe Minnie's Country House?
Are there any on Tom Sawyer Island?
wdwtheplacetobe
09-27-2005, 08:33 AM
ksdave---Aunt Polly's is the little snack shop on Tom Sawyer's island....It has LOTS of rocking chairs/benches as you wait for the "raft". I've only been there once---'cuz I'd never been over there before.
Adaddy---How about GMR---I think there's a rocking chair where the "train robber" sits waiting for the next tram????
From Pictures---looks like Playhouse Disney has a porch---do they have rocking chairs???
This one is hard because we hardly ever sit in Disney!

KS Dave gets one with Toon Town.
I also do very little sitting at WDW, but looking for something you've seen but never really noticed is a great exercise for virtual park touring.
I'll try and narrow it down a bit for everyone: of the 7 remaining porches with chair/bench seating, 4 are at MK, and Epcot, AK and MGM each have 1, although the one I'm thinking of at MGM might be a bit of a stretch. .....also, I'm not counting any of the outside dinning areas ( such as Flame Tree BBQ ) so you can eliminate those.
Good Morning and Good Luck to all!

I'll recap the list in a little while.

Spectro - I didn't have Japan on my Epcot list,......but I think you're right, so it counts!

Town Hall.....Spectro
Toon Town.....KSDave
HoP.....WDWthePlaceToBe
Frontierland (close to the tavern).....Mlcar
Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse.....Spectro
Aunt Polly's.....WDWthePlaceToBe
Tony's Town Square.....Mykelogan

Spectro, you're also in the wrong spot, but I think I might have to add your answer to my list..........across from PoC and next to El Pirata.......kind of a stucco building next to that little fence area where characters and CMs sometimes come and go from.........I can't remember any chairs or benches there, I'll have to check it out in November :teeth:

Yes Jen (more or less) that's the right one! The name of the shop is the Yankee Trader, in it you can find all sorts of cooking accessories and such. If you check this site for Yankee Trader you can see a picture that clearly shows the chairs on the porch. The shop is on your left as you exit the HM on the corner that turns toward Fantasyland approaching PP'sF and the old Skyway station.
WDWthePlaceToBe.....I love that part of the UK pavillion too! In fact, that's the one I was looking for! So many neat little gardens and such, the sounds of the British Invasion, it's a great out of the way place to enjoy a Mickey ice cream bar or a yard of ale. :goodvibes

WDWthePlaceToBe - Yes, there are benches on the porch of the ToT up against the short walls overlooking the gardens in the que area.
.....at AK when you come to the first fork in the road (right to Dinoland, left to Camp Minnie Mickey, run like hell straight ahead and to the left to the safari thing) there are shops on either side of you. Both have wrap around "porches", (you can a charicature done on the porch of the store to your right as you turn toward Dinoland) and on those porches are benches and chairs where guests can sit and melt! You were close enough WDWthePlaceToBe.

If you get the chance to listen to MouseHouseRadio @ live365.com you might hear a recording of Walt and Roy visiting with a large group of people in Marceline, MO. trading stories of the "good ole days" there that did soo much to shape who Walt was. It sounds like it was recorded some time in the late 50's or early 60's and is really great if you're a Walt nut like me. I usually hear it in the afternoons.
..............interesting tid bit: Main Street USA was not the only reproduction Walt did of his memories of Marceline, he also built a workshop in the backyard of his last home that was modled after the barn his parents had on their Marcline farm :goodvibes ..............
