To help get us back on track...
Where can you find a pig carrying a torch?
tinkersmama
11-12-2007, 10:20 PM
That would be at MGM studios and it is Miss Piggy dressed up like the Statue of Liberty.

11-13-2007, 06:58 AM
A "Muppet Vision 4-D AAQ" to tinkersmama! You're up with the next question!!
cabanafrau
11-13-2007, 07:17 AM
Plutospup, just had to ring in to say -- my favorite question -- ever! :thumbsup2 Actually something I couldn't answer, but should have known. Very, very fun!
tinkersmama
11-13-2007, 03:19 PM
Thank you very much. At first I was like, what the heck is he talking about and then it just sorta hit me! OK, next question....
What is the name of the talking palm tree at Animal Kingdom?
N10CJT
11-13-2007, 03:25 PM
I think its name is Wes Palm.....
tinkersmama
11-13-2007, 03:28 PM

11-13-2007, 03:38 PM
Thanks! How about this one.....
In the cottage scene in Snow White's Scary Adventures, which two dwarves are NOT playing musical instruments?
amyhughes
11-13-2007, 03:52 PM
Isnt it Dopey and Sneezy? Arent they dancing with Snow White?
N10CJT
11-13-2007, 04:15 PM
It is indeed Dopey and Sneezy.... Dopey is riding Sneezy chicken style in the traditionally awkward dance! An AAQ to you, Amy!
amyhughes
11-13-2007, 04:19 PM
Thanks!
Sticking with Snow White:
On Snow White's Adventures, it was originally taken from which character's point of view?
N10CJT
11-13-2007, 04:25 PM
I don't know this for sure, but it would make sense that it would be from Snow White's perspective, being that the ride is named with the possessive!
disneycruise05
11-13-2007, 04:26 PM
It was Snow White's POV, but then they added her since people were confused that she wasn't there.
Speaking of Snow White, have y'all seen the new photos Annie Leibovitz did?
amyhughes
11-13-2007, 04:31 PM
I don't know this for sure, but it would make sense that it would be from Snow White's perspective, being that the ride is named with the possessive!
An AAQ to you!
And to Disney Cruise you answered it very fully as well! It was originally to be taken from Snow White's POV, but people complained that you never saw her in the ride. (D'uh!) So naturally Disney added her into the scenes and now you get just the story!
plutospup
11-13-2007, 04:36 PM
I believe it was Snow White's point of view.
BTW... I love the statue of Miss Piggy!

How about some Skyway trivia....
Walt Disney was struck by the idea of building another Disney park outside of Southern California when he noticed guests leaving Disneyland because they witnessed this everyday occurence during a ride on the Skyway....
tinkersmama
11-13-2007, 04:43 PM
I have seen the new pictures by Anne Leibovitz. They are absolutely stunning!
tinkersmama
11-13-2007, 04:51 PM
Is this an occurance that Walt noticed while on the skyride or something that the guests noticed while on the skyride and it made them leave?
disneycruise05
11-13-2007, 05:01 PM
Hmmm...maybe traffic? They would see rush hour and figure that they needed to leave then? With WDW, Walt would be able to "hide" the real world away (thankfully) so people would forget their worries and spend more time in the park.
tinkersmama
11-13-2007, 05:12 PM
OK, this is what I have always heard as to why Walt went outside of S. Cali to build a park. The popularity of Disneyland made so many other hotels and such pop up that he wanted lots of land to build a "world" were the magic would stay. It wouldn't have all the congestion that Disneyland had. He chose FL because of its year-round good weather.

Not only that, supamaki, but I was actually born in Huntington Hospital!
And thanks, Amy, one out of two guesses isn't bad.... I was actually thinking about Fort Wilderness because I figured that people might go to a campground even if the park wasn't open, but then I remembered the golf courses, and that made more sense!
But hey, good stumper, supamaki, hope you have some more in the bag!
Here's one that may stump some people. I only know this because of connections to the airline industry!
Which two airlines sponsored previous incarnations of the "Take Flight" attraction that formerly resided in Tomorrowland

What celebration took place at the Disney/MGM Studios featuring Art Linkletter on Dec 5, 2001?

11-16-2007, 06:11 PM
Alright, this is a flyer, and I may garner some foul glances if this is wrong. But I know Walt Disney's birthday is in December and was near the turn of the century, so I'm going with a celebration for his 100th birthday.
Bracing myself...... :scared:

DW surprised me with a birthday trip to WDW, and we were at MGM for Walt Disney's 100th celebration. Art Linkletter was sitting a few feet away from me. He was very nice, and quite a gentleman.

:confused3 :confused3 :confused3 :confused3
A glockenspiel is a German instrument that often sounds on the hour from a lot of German (particularly Bavarian) clocktowers. The one at EPCOT does have one, I know, so even though it'd be odd to name the actualy clock after the instrument, this is definitely a possibility.

There are 22 tires on each car.
I found this out from a CM one time. The ride had shut down and we were waiting for it to restart. The CM told me that the backup braking system on one of the cars had failed and they had to take off half of the tires to work on it.
