After reading all of the positive success on priceline I think I am going to give it a shot. When is the earliest they accept reservations? I like to book early but is too early a mistake? Should I look around and book a hotel(if I can make a ressie with no money down) and then wait to use priceline when it gets closer? I need advice? What should we do?
Thanks again!!

You can book up to 11 months in advance through Priceline. As to how early you should book, as soon as you feel confident that your trip won't change in any way, because your reservation is non-cancellable and non-refundable.
A lot of people book a cancellable backup and wait until a month or two out to use Priceline. Alternatively, I've already seen a success posted for January 2002, and quite a few for the summer, so it's just up to you.
