Mark & Sandra: Welcome we are in 6070 and my friends are in 6068 so we are all right near each other.

I am traveling with just my DH but my friends are traveling with their DS 15 and DD 2. So Robby and your daughter will be in the teen club together.

Everyone I am very sad today. Matt's friend's Mom died of ovarian cancer on Thursday. She had been fighting this for years and I am so sad for the family and her children, she was only 46.

She told me last spring that all she wanted to do was live long enough to see her son Matt graduate high school, which he did last June. I feel so bad that these kids lost their Mom when they still need her so much.

Life is so precious, we need to cherish every moment with our loved ones.

Lyn: I'm so sorry to hear about Matt's friend's mom :( :( You're right, even though our kids might be older, they still very much need their mom. I'm glad she was able to make it to see her son graduate. At least he'll have that memory.

Oh Lyn...I'm so sad for Matt's friend. It amkes you take a step back and realize what's important in life.

Terry...At this point I am doing NY things in August, but my godchild (who lives in Orlando) will be turning 16 in November and my friend MAY have her sweet 16 party in August, but she really doesn't want to do that as she feels its too far from her birthday. So if she does August, I will be going to Florida. If she does November (like she is hoping to) I will be doing NY day trips. I will definitely let you know so we can get together :)

Doreen...Keep up the faith and don't let your guard down.

MARK & SANDRA -
Welcome to the "Castaway" cruise from a fellow "Fool"!

SUE - We are definately doing the brunch. Hope we can get a group together. If not, you are more than welcome to join us.

Just a quick note to everyone...hope you are all doing well...I spent the morning transfering the tape of my DS's Homecoming to send to him and my mom. I cried through the whole thing...again and again. Gotta' get ready to go sell GS Cookies. Yeah! Have a great day!

Greetings Castaways!

I guess it's time we officially joined the "Cruisin' Castaways". We're spending most of our time over on the "Ship of Fools" repo cruise thread. It's hard to look past that vacation, since it will be the longest one that we've taken. Our family consists of Paul, Linda, DD(12) and DD(8) (ages at sailing.) We're signed up for main dining.

We're looking forward to meeting some new dis'ers and having a reunion with some of the "Fools" that are booked here too.

I actually spend more time over on this thread because I have friends here from last years cruise. By the time this cruise rolls around all the FOOLS will have met also. This is going to be an awesome cruise! Glad you are over here, too.

Hi everyone

Please count us in for the group brunch. :drinking: Also, we have late dining and hope you will link us up the other Cruisin Castaways. I've read somewhere about a pirate: night. Does anyone know what it is? :confused3

Welcome Mark & Sandra and NYdiscuisers. This is a great group of people. :disrocks:

Sue - looking forward to meeting you and Vicki in August. I don't know whether we will be in Florida on the 18th or 19th. We're leaving on the Glory on 8/20 and we'll be back on the 27th and staying in Kissimmee until 9/2.

Karen - hope you get better soon.

Lyn - so sorry to hear about the loss of Matt's friend's mother. It's such a shame at any age, especially for someone so young. My best friend of 45 years passed away 4 years ago from ovarian cancer.

Most people think that I am crazy for doing the vacations/cruises and things that I do (since I am a single parent and can't afford it) but you only live once and I can't afford not to do things to create memories with and for my family. :love1: Memories are priceless. I believe you have to enjoy life while you are living and not just to exist. I've learned the hard way not to take things for granted.

Yesterday my DS Harley wanted to go to the Wingbowl which is a really big thing here in Philly before the Superbowl. Even though he just started college a few weeks ago, I let him go. He missed only one class and was back in time for his second class. He still hasn't stopped talking about how great it was to be part of the excitement. :bounce: :bounce: For me, life's about creating great memories. Hopefully, tomorrow Philly will be creating another great memory

Don't apologise! LOL Everyone has to be loyal to their own teams! :cheer2:

Don't forget, I'm a JERSEY GIRL! However, I don't like any of the NY/NJ teams (I HATE the Giants!) and my DSs like 2 different football teams. Robby is a Rams fan and Craig is a Patriots fan. DH John-Bob is, of course, a Patriots fan. He grew up here in Massachusetts.

So, since the Rams didn't make it to the Superbowl, I am cheering for the PATRIOTS, but only by default. lol

BEV - You expressed my sentiments also. Sharing and making memories with my family are very important to me. That's why I like cruising so much...gets us away fom everything to be together.

Harley got into the Wingbowl?! All the guys in my office have gone together for the past 3 years (SHHH don't tell Admin). This year they didn't get in because they closed the doors before they got there. What time did Harley get there? We did have the treat of listening to it the whole morning on my boss' radio. LOL EL WINGADOR RULES LOL

Hi Guys

My goodness I take one day off to watch my beloved Wales beat England yippee in the 6 nations rugby championship and I miss loads of posts, so here goes:

Many Many Thanks to all of you who have invited me to Brunch, Tea or Dinner at Palos, I am very grareful to you all. It will be great if we can arrange a big meet, prehaps we can take over the whole of Palos lol.

Mark and Sandra: A very warm welcome to you, looking forward to meeting you.

Lyn: That is so sad about Matts Friends mum, so young, what a tragic thing to happen.

NYdiscuisers: Warm welcome to you too, how wonderful to have 2 cruises to look forward to.

Bev: We will have to try and arrange something nearer the time, we dont leave Florida until the 2nd September, so we just might be able to fit a meet in somewhere. Looking forward to it. I am going to meet up with Andy, Hazel and Angelina somewhere, sometime on the 19th and have made arrangements to meet with 3 other disers from the UK boards on the 20th at Epcot. This trip is turning into a meeting of dear friends from near and far for us and we are so looking forward to it. I also agree about what you said concerning taking holidays with the family. The way I look at it Vicki will only want to come away with her mum for a few more years before she starts wanting to go with her friends, so as a single mum as well, I intened to make the most of it, most of my friends think I am Disney crazy and ask questions like how can you afford it, well I rearly go out, work very hard and save like crazy. The memories of the holidays Vicki and I have will stay with me forever.

Joanna, Darlene, Terry, Andy, Doreeen,Tina, Dori, Mary Rose, Diane,Ginny,Karen and anybody else I have forgotten, which I am sure I have:

I hope you are all well and look forward to speaking to you soon.

By the way has anybody heard from MaryRose latley?, just wondering how she was.

Hi everyone

Darlene - Harley left the house at 3 am, picked up some friends and was there by 4 am. He said the parking lots were so packed by that time, that they were closed. I thought he was  to leave that early but I'm glad he did and that he had a chance to feel part of it. It's all about creating memories. He wanted me to go with him but we had a Superbowl party at work.

For the EAGLES fans, it seems like time is standing still until 630. :hourglass

Hope everyone is well and have a great day. :sunny:

I thought it was refreshing to have a half-time show with CLASS. And the commercial honoring the military members made me cry. Go figure. All the men I know laughed out loud at the cat/sauce commercial. I think it was definately a guy commercial. Although I thought it was funny it made me uncomfortable at the same time.

So much for a FEBRUARY winterfest here in SYRACUSE. All our snow that we did get is melted or getting black in color.

Well,I guess I am heading back to VIRGINIA in a week again. This time to drop JACLYN off for the week to visit KAREN during the week of MID WINTER BREAK. My mom and I are driving down. Daniel is going on a ski trip weekend so Karen is a bit upset that he will not be there.. But where can you go skiing for a weekend for skis, lift and food all for $48.. I am not making an excuse for him but it was self-defense and the policy is he should have walked away and tried to get someone. DS has ADHD and is in special classes and is often picked on. Thank god no one was hurt. This is a difficult time in his young life and he is dealing with some issues.........some lessons will be hard ones.

Terry: I thought we getting alot this year. You are really taking a pounding. NY schools must be different. They alway allow a certain number of "snow days" if they use them all up they take away the spring break days. They have never had a longer school year. It has always been around June 26th. I will keep my fingers crossed for you. By the way.........They haven't had to shortened a spring break yet. :)

Tina,, all I can say is "this too will pass". At this present time you may not think so, but TRUST ME.. it does. After the past 2 weeks that I have had with my family, I didnt' think i would handle it... God finds a way and gives us only the amount we can handle.Be strong and take lots of deep breaths and know we are here for you... IM me if you need me..

TERRY... good luck with the snow.we only had 2 snow days so far. Its seams like winter is coming slow but with a vengence when it does show its ugly head.

ANDY.. you and KAREN should do PT together,,lol She goes 3 days a week still and no work.

Hi everyone :wave2:

Remember when I was concerned about having to cancel our Royal Caribbean Cruise because of the kids' snow days? Well since we're due for more snow Thursday night I decided to email the principal to see what he had to say about what they would do in the event of more snow days.

Currently they have 5 snow days, and this means my DSs will be missing a full week of school, (the last week). This is Ok because I know they don't do much that last week, but if they have to miss any more than that, then John and I would have to seriously consider cancelling.

The principal's reply basically said that he "suggest that we NOT cancel our plans" and that the Superintendent of schools does NOT want to extend the school year beyond June 24th (which is their current last day of school), and if necessary they'll have 2-hour-delayed openings instead of cancelling. He said that whichever students can make it to school is fine, but if parents opt to keep their kids home on those days then that's fine too. He did say that they will not be cancelling April spring break because many families already have plans for that week (including us!) so many students would be missing that week anyway. So I'm assuming that barring another BLIZZARD, we'll still be able to go on that cruise :boat:

The principal even mentioned Robby's name saying that since he's only in 8th grade he won't have any final exams to worry about and that Robby has not missed a day of school this year so there's no worry about his attendance record.

So this is good news. :) Now I just have to hope for no more blizzards!! :cold:

Terry: Glad things worked out with the school. Now plan that cruise and I hope the weatherman was wrong about how much snow your getting. I was wondering who was screaming. Now I know. :rolleyes1

Doreen: Thanks for reminding me. Sometimes we forget these things. How did Marty make out today with the results? :wizard:

02-09-2005, 03:51 PM
Terry, that is great news!!! I just saw on the Weather Channel that the Boston area might only get about 1-3 inches of snow instead of the 12 inches they were calling for earlier. We are now only expected to get rain from this storm, which is fine with me. I don't think my knee could take the strain if I had to shovel more snow right now.

mickeymom923
02-09-2005, 05:19 PM
Hi everyone

Terry - glad things worked out with the school. The past three years I went on a cruise the week before the winter break and both Harley and Lindsay missed a week from school. The teachers didn't care because that week and usually by the beginning of June in Philly, most teachers show up but don't want to be there either. :teacher:

Tina - thanks for your support. I'll have to find someone to take me to the hospital and home because the doctor said I can't drive for 12 hours :sad2: after the procedure because of the anesthenia. I have a month to worry about it (and I will) or chicken out. LOL

Tina and anyone else interested in the Allentown DIS meet in July - hopefully this is the link for info. (It worked but I had to copy and paste). Sounds like fun, but I hate to go by myself.

I don't think we will be able to make the DISmeet in Allentown this summer.

My knee was very stiff this morning, but after I went to PT it was feeling much better. I saw the doc last night and he said that I have an inflamed tendon in the knee which is causing the pain. The ice does help with keeping the swelling down, but I have one cold knee!!! LOL!!!

Andy, Andy, Andy...

That's incorrect use of ice! The ice goes into the smoothies. And if the smoothies are properly and frequently applied then the knee doesn't hurt anymore. (You don't get frostbite that way either!)

Good luck on the recovery! And watch out for those Physical Terrorists! (Can you tell that I've done my time in that arena? I truly empathize about the knee - between us we have one good set of knees. I ran through a sliding glass door as a kid and trashed my left one, but it usually doesn't slow me down too much.) :p

Dori,

This injury was done to my right knee (I had my right knee operated on last May), that "WAS" my good knee. My left knee had a partial replacement put in 4 years ago. Now, I don't have a good knee to stand on, pun intended!!!

I got a chuckle about your comment with the ice, that was a good one, LOL!!!

Let it Snow Let it snow let it snow... Sorry Terry.. as long as it doesnt affect you.... well its snowing again here.. since 330pm or so...uggg. I want summer NOW!!!

Well, MARTY does have to have disc surgery. There is a new procedure that is almost FDA approved ( like within a few weeks) to be done in the US. It has been done in EUROPE for several months now with much success. Its replaces the whole disc(s) instead of the fusion. They describe it as being a "OREO" type device. Recovery is 4-6 weeks as soon as the insicion is healed and they go in through the abdomen and moved the vital organs out of the way with minimal discomfort. The older way the FUSION is 6- 0 month recovery and they fused the disc to the other disc and you have less mobility afterward. Marty has suffered for over 3 yrs that I have known him and bascially over 10 yrs. Anything is better than what he has now.. Thank you for asking!!!

WHAT A DAY!!!!! :cheer2:

Andy - I'm sorry to hear that there is only one decent knee between us. (The right knee is okay, it's the ankle I trashed on that side.) And God bless those Physical Terrorists... I mean Physical Therapists. However, I sometimes wonder about a person whose joy in life is causing someone else pain "for their own good". (Just kidding! I've been through it several times myself and have had a few reprimands for overdoing it, because I absolutely hate not being able to do the things I normally like to do. And I do respect anybody that can do that job day-in and day-out.)

Bev:You can't chicken out........A month to think about is a long time. So use that month to do other things. Do you have a hobby that you enjoy? Devote your time to that for the next month. Spend the next month :chat: on here about the cruise. It's never to early to chat and plan for it ya know. So are you doing Palo's brunch? lol Glad It's not snowing there. Chuck is somewhere in PA.Thanks for the link about the meet. I will talk with Chuck this weekend. Looks like fun. :)

Doreen: That "Oreo" device sounds really great. Are you going to wait for it to be FDA approved. What a difference in recovery time. I will still send you pixe dust your way in hopes it all works out for you. :wizard:

We got about 2 inches last night and it's snowing right now. We are expected another 2-4. I know it could be worse.

It's going on 8am here and so far it's only raining. :umbrella: We may get a couple of inches this evening, but I'm pretty sure that even if we do, the kids will still have school tomorrow. :sunny:

I hope everyone that has medical problems will be OK. :grouphug: Hey I got some excellent news yesterday. Not sure if I had mentioned this or not, but my sister was recently told she'd have to have hip replacement surgery. She has extremely severe asthma and needs to take Prednisone, a steroid, frequently. Well this can lead to a condition called osteonecrosis which cuts off the blood supply to the bones. With no blood supply, the bone can "die" and become very brittle. She had gone for x-rays, then a bone scan and it was determined she'd need the surgery. But then she went for an MRI last week and THAT test determined that it wasn't nearly as bad as they had though and they are now NOT recommending surgery. We are thrilled!! My sister is only 53 and you would not believe her health history: severe asthma which has almost killed her MANY times, Graves' disease (she no longer has a thyroid and will rely on medication the rest of her life), breast cancer which led to a double mastectomy, gall bladder disease (she had to have her gall bladder removed within days of one of her mastectomies), and I know there are other more minor diseases that she has, BUT on top of ALL of that, she also has a brain tumor. I know...I told you....hard to believe that one person can have so many health problems :( The thing is, if you ever saw my sister, you'd think she was the healthies person on earth. She's like the Energizer Bunny! And she has a wonderful attitude which keeps her going.

Anyway, didn't mean to ramble but my sister means the world to me and I am just so relieved to know she won't need this surgery afterall. Not any time soon, anyway. :sunny:

I'm heading off to work today, for the first time in about 2 months! I only work 1 day a week and for the last 2 months it's been one thing or another that's kept me from working.

Have a great day, everyone! :wave2: Here's a Mickey Bar! :mickeybar

8 Ears, Welcome Aboard Mates!!!

I know you will cherish this cruise with just you and DH cruising. As you know, DW and I did this in January, it was the first vacation that DW and I took alone since adopting our DD in 1991. We weren't sure about leaving her behind, but we had such a remarkable trip. So much so, that we are thinking of doing it again. Luckily our DD is 14, and she doesn't mind spending some quality time with my mom.

Terry, I'm glad to hear that your Dsis doesn't need the hip replacement surgery. Hazel had this done two years ago because the pain got so bad she could hardly walk. The pain is gone, but Hazel still has discomfort at times. As my surgeon always tells me, the longer we can keep your original body parts in your body, the better. At times, I question that theory!!!

We didn't have a chance to have a "Honeymoon" so for us this will be a little late but hey that's o.k. Couples need to take that time for each other. The kids are spending the week with DH parents and are going to WDW. They are also getting a vacation. Tina

Terry, I will keep your sister in our prayers.. :wizard: For the people on her of the CATHOLIC faith, and those of other faith as well.,you have heard of MOTHER MARION COPE and her next step in becoming a SAINT. Well, her remains are laying in STATE here in SYRACUSE at the MOTHER HOUSE near our home. It was in the paper today that people are coming to pray before her and bringing special intentions on paper and leaving them in a basket for the "SISTERS" to pray. So terry, I will bring a request for the health of your sister, when I go on SATURDAY with my family.
It is so seral to think that we may have a SAINT cannonized in our life time. And from our neighborhood too. Actually, she even got the main Catholic hospital here St Joseph's and St Elizabeths in Utica established. St E's is where I went to Nursing school. So it really hits home to me and my family.

8 EARS.. welcome to our family... :grouphug: enjoy the reading.. What room are you staying or what dining do you have?

Tina we only got about 4 inches of snow.. slight flurries now.. :cold:

I learned a new hobby of CROCHET and KNITTING while I was down in VIRGINIA so MARTY is taking me out now to get some more supplies for my VALENTINES gift.. I get them and make the stuff and give them away... Its so relaxing. Anyone else crochet or knit??? Is there a DIS BOARD for that item too??lol

Talk to you all later stay healthy :goodvibes :flower: .. no accidents either(MATT).lol

Tina - Things are going okay at the moment, but things could get interesting this weekend. Devin is due to get his report card on Friday. I'm expecting better grades than last time, so I'm hoping that I won't have to revoke his video game privileges again. (Oh, the joys of raising adolescent boys!)

I have finally gotten enough of the holiday-explosion cleaned out of my house that I can start working on the t-shirts again. Keep your fingers crossed! I'm hoping to get the screens made within the next month (it would be sooner if I could put the rest of my life on hold for a while). Then I'll need some time to test things out before I'll be ready to start taking orders. And with the size of this group, I'm gonna be really, really busy screening shirts. (Andy - Are you sure that I can't kidnap you to come help? ;) )

Well, I better get back to work. (Validating medical claims from our last test run and writing up training documentation for the parts of the system that I changed - ICK! :badpc: )

Hello all, a little more info on us. On the Dec. 16, 2004 Wonder we celebrated our 15th anniversary.

We will be in 6582 and have early sitting.

No real ages but I will say we are in our mid 30's and have 2 DS's. They will not be with us this time but are 10 and 13.

We can be a bit shy until we get to know you but looking forward to getting to know all of you.

Here in the mountains of Maine we have 3+ inches and it is not supposed to stop until around 6 AM TOMORROW! Yuck, how much longer until we cruise again....no, no, guess I do not want to know after all :sad2:

Tina: My dear neighbour, hope you are well, loving our little chats, hope things are ok. Speak to you soon.

Terry: Hope the snow stays away, great news about your sister, that must be a relief that she does not need surgery. Best Wishes, not long to your cruise now.

After Angelina got home from school yesterday we went to the furniture store. We promised we would get Angelina a new dresser and mirror for her bedroom (they are being delivered this morning) with some of our income tax refund. After we left the furniture store, we went to Applebee's for dinner. After ordering our food, I started glancing through the adult drinks menu and two words jumped out at me, "Bahama Mama." I started laughing and both Hazel and Angelina were wondering what I was laughing about, when I told them, Angelina said, "Oh dad, there you go again with that DCL talk!!!"

Hi Guys

Hope you are all well, Looking forward to the weekend. It is half term over here next week so Vicki will be off school for a week, so that means I get an extra 1/2 hour in bed every morning, and even better I have next Thursday and Friday off from work as well. So a nice three day week for me next week, just hope the weather improves as it has been cold and raining over here non stop for the last 3 days.

Just got myself another little way of saving more money for holidays, I have become an Avon rep. Dont know if you have Avon in the states, but it is a line of cosmetics and beauty products. The lady that was doing it in work has given up, so I thought I would give it a go. I will only spend a few hours doing it every week and so far my first orders total nearly £300 and I get 25% commission yippee, which will go stright into my savings account for our holidays, every little helps.

Well I see we are under the 80 weeks to go mark, cant wait until it gets under 52, then thats less than a year.

Andy: Well done on the income tax refund, have only ever had one refund in my life and that was for £2.76, did'nt go far lol. What I would do right now to be sat on the balcony of the magic drinking one of those Bahama Mamas.

Have a great weekend all.

Sue - According to Avon.com, the company started in the U.S. back in 1886 and made it over to the United Kingdom in 1959. Good luck with your new enterprise! Boy, the weather we had this morning would have made you homesick if you had been here. It was sooo foggy! And it didn't burn off until around noon.

Andy - Congrats on the income tax refund! Just make sure that you use some of the money for something fun. I sketched out my tax return this last weekend and it looks like I'm going to get back just enough to cover my property taxes for the year and the balance left on the cruise. (I consider the cruise my 'fun money' for this year. I always try to cover at least one bill and one fun item with my tax return.)

Darlene - I hope that you and Sandy have a wonderful time with your son!

Tina - If you really want to come help with the t-shirts, I do have a spare bedroom in the house! :)

Doreen - No glass cozies, huh? Come on! It's not like we asked for sweaters or something. :rotfl:

Hi everyone :wave2:

John and I just got back from dinner, we went out to a local Mexican restaurant. On the wall behind our booth was one of those Mexican sun dial things that I saw a million of while on our cruise, especially at Costa Maya! :teeth: It was cool to realize that I actually knew what it was!

Craig and Robby both have friends over, so before we went out I made quesadillas for them all. They had the option to join us for dinner but Craig and his friend were having band practice (they both write their own songs, music and lyrics) and Robby and his friend were playing an online XBOX game with some other friends from school so they chose to stay in. I didn't mind that one bit, John and I enjoyed having dinner alone.

I don't think I mentioned this on the thread last year, but right around this time last year I came down with something. Either a virus, or I don't know what. But for about 2 months I was exhausted ALL the time. I slept well at night, I'd get up in the morning to get John and the kids out the door, then I'd go back to sleep until around noon, then I'd be up for a few hours, till about when they kids got home from school. Then before dinner I'd have to lay down for an hour, then make dinner, then I was exhausted all over again. I did manage to take care of the usual household things such as laundry, cooking, food shopping, etc, but that's it. I didn't work (I only work 1 day a week for our accountant) for almost 3 months. I did go to the doctor, and he did blood work and examined me, but nothing really showed up out of the ordinary. Since my mother had recently died, and since it was quite traumatic for me since we brought her home to die and I was with her 24 hours a day for the 5 days it took her to die, my doctor and I both thought that perhaps I had fallen into a depression. I went on an antidepressant and while it did help to a certain degree, it didn't make me feel any more energetic. By the time spring came around I started to feel better and didn't have to sleep all day like I was. In the summer I went off the antidepressants and I've been fine ever since.

Fast forward to this past week. I'm beginning to feel tired and sleepy during the day again :( I am just hoping that I am not getting whatever it was last winter that had me sleeping 18 hours a day. :(

Have any of you ever had anything like this? I really don't want to sleep through the next couple of months. :confused3

I have been lurking again - I just haven't had the energy to post. Lot's of problems - needed new furnace (at $4,550.00), FIL with colon cancer, Grandma that they thought had a stroke(now think something else), ect, ect, ect. I hope all are well. Welcome to all new Castaways!!!

Sue - Last week I stopped selling Avon after 8 years. I just didn't have time anymore & I was spending more than I made every order. If you work at it you can make money. If you have any questions you can PM me & I will help if I can.

Terry - have you thought that it might be the lack of sunlight - I can't remember what it is called but it would fit that it went away when Spring came. I know that it mimics depression.

Darlene - Enjoy your son and thank him for all of us.

Karen & Andy - Best wishes for speedy knee recoveries.

Tina - Sorry about the DS issues - If you need to talk just PM me.

Doreen - We will have to plan a little mini-meet with Tina - Maybe a wine tour. My husband has numerous back problems(herniated(sp?), bulging, leaking, ect) so I will be interested to hear about back surgery.

3 weeks to Carnival Glory cruise - can't wait but so much to do. Bye to all for now.

Terry, I go through this every winter and I live in "sunny" San Diego. It's called Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD). Here's a link to an article about it: Lack of Winter Sunlight Makes People 'SAD' (http://www.cm-life.com/vnews/display.v/ART/2005/01/28/41f9d5ef8db7c). What works for me is going to the tanning bed at least once a week. In spite of the obvious issues about skin cancer and such and knowing that a tanning bed is not good for you, this really has helped me and I feel soooo much better during the winter. HTH

Hi Guys

Good Morning to you all, just to let you know I have a new name kindly given to me by a very nice man in the post office: :flower:

I just picked up my wonderful gifts from the January quiz. :cool1: I had a beautiful Christmas 2004 plate with stand featuring all the gang, Mickey Minnie, Donald etc, A Pooh scented candel in a tin, A Pooh snowglobe and some beads and coins from Universal's Halloween Horror nights. They are fantastic and I am thrilled to bits, my daughter has already taken ownership of the beads and coins.

I have to tell you thou picking them up from the sorting office was no easy task, as they delivered yesterday while I was at work, they took them back to the sorting office and left me a card telling me to pick them up today and to bring some identifaction with me, :moped: well I did not read the card properly and walked in this morning armed with my credit card. :3dglasses

After finding the parcels I showed the guy my credit card, "I'm sorry Mrs Sun he said the name is not the same, but what a fabulous name you have. What was he on about :confused3 then looked at the parcels to see Rhys who hosted the quiz in January, had addressed them to my screen name of Florida Sun. After trying to explain the situation he said I could have them if I had something with my address on, luckly I had my driving licence on me, which has my address on, so he then passed them over. "Thank you and goodbye" I replied to which he answered "Thank you too Mrs Sun, have a good day" :rotfl:

So now I am offically called Mrs Florida Sun. :sunny:

Hello Everyone

Dori: Thanks for the invite. The closest I will be is Las Vegas and that will be in April. Although I will have some free time I am meeting Chuck out there for a business trip.Someday I will try to make it out your way but I doubt it will be before cruise time.

Linda: So sorry to hear about everything that's been going on with you. Please PM me if you need to talk. :grouphug: I hope you will be able to enjoy your cruise.

Sue: So Mrs. Florida Sun........Kinda catchy :sunny: Is this person married at the post office?? If not maybe you need to go back to the post office and mail something. :moped:

Terry: Sounds like it is lack of light during winter. Go back to doctor and see what they say.

Andy: We haven't done our taxes yet. I am scared to even think about it. First year for us since we are married and I don't think we are going to get any money back. :earseek: Glad someone was able to put it towards there cruise. That's what I would have done.

Hello Again
Finally I wanted to share some good news with everyone. I got a letter in the mail yesterday. It was from the Principal at my DD school. It said that the 6 Red teachers have nominated Brooke to receive an award. You and Brooke are cordially invited to attend an honorary breakfast on February 18th 7:30 a.m. This is not recognition for Honor Roll students, which would be an additional letter. Please take a moment and congratulate Brooke on this fine achievement and inform Brooke to meet you in the cafeteria that morning. Then it goes on to say that a ceremony will follow ect, ect. Well I was thrilled. We have no idea what this is for.I like the fact that they had me tell Brooke. Well it seems lately I have had to vent about my troubles so I just had to share this with everyone. :Pinkbounc :bounce: Tina

Just incase I take early retirement before August 2006, I want to have this cruise paid ASAP. My mom, Hazel and I have been looking into buying a new double wide manufactured home and have it replace the single wide mobile home my mom has on her property now. We found a manufactured home community just about 8 miles from where my mom lives that we could purchase a home from and they would install the home on my mom's property. I talked to one of the salesmen on the phone this morning and my mom is going to go take a look at some of the models they have, then when we visit my mom in March, Hazel and I are going to check the models out as well. My mom's property measures 150 X 110 so there is plenty of room for some tents for a pre-cruise or post-cruise party, LOL!!!

Andy...By Florida's standards, your mom has a nice size property. If you know the zero lot line in Florida community's, then you will know the shock I first experienced when we looked at homes there. We currently have a 75x200 piece of property, so it was pure shock to us.

Tina...Congrats to Brooke, let us know what it was all about. Amanda had her National Junior Honor Society induction on Wednesday and it was so nice to hear of all the kids accomplishments in only 8th grade. Think I MUST add this, one girl danced and sang on Carnival Cruise Lines. Thought you would all appreciate that.

Where is everyone tonight?

Terry, I think it may be similar to SUNDOWNER syndrome that people experience when it gets dark outside. In the winter its darker longer. And many people experience that depression like feeling. They sell those very bright type of LIGHTS to make your house and work areas brighter to remind you of summer and spring like days. Your family doctor should be able to tell you more about it. Its not all in your mind either.. its a fact that winter does cause depression. Try keeping the blinds, shades, curtains open longer and turn on more lights in the house... But, than again who doesnt need a nap in the afternoon,,lol :goodvibes

HELLO!
Glad to see Bobby and Cindy posting...and that things are good and uneventful...and the kids are doing well...I've missed you guys.

ANDY - Glad to see you are moving ahead with your plans to relocate to FL. They have no personal income tax, you know.

SUE - Good luck with your new endeavor! Did it myself many, many years ago.

TERRY - Ask you DR about SAD. I know I need sunlight. My grandmother has SUNDOWNING that causes uncharacteristic agitation when the sun goes down. But that is different from SAD. Let me know how you are doing. :sunny:

TINA - Congrats to Brooke (and you!). Can't wait to hear what her award is for. :flower:

Washington DC was awesome. My DS "marched" us for miles and miles and miles :cool1: . And it was cold :cold: . We took a trolley tour at night and saw the city and monuments illuminated. Very cool! We went to Arlington Cemetary, very sobering. Smithsonian Institute, at least the small portion that we visited, is fantastic. It's like WDW, you can't see it ALL. Did see the "Hope Diamond" and it is beautiful.

And the BEST part was the family time we were able to spend with DS & DDIL. My sister and brother and 2 nephews drove down with us. Got lots of hugs from DS and he made us laugh and laugh. :rotfl: Sandy was on :cloud9: and so was I.

Back to work tomorrow...so goodnight!

HI everyone :wave2:

My doctor is on vacation until next week, but I made an appointment to see him on next Wednesday. This gives me another full week to make sure that this long-term thing is happening again. I have a feeling it is since it started a week ago and hasn't gone away yet.

On a happier note, Craig took his road test today and passed; he now is a licensed driver in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts!!! :cheer2: I am so relieved that he passed! :teeth: Tomorrow I will pick him up from school and take him to the insurance company so he can get insurance on his car, then we'll go directly over to the Registry of Motor Vehicle so he can get it registered and get plates for it, then he'll be on his own driving!

He'll start out slow and just drive himself to work the few days a week that he works, and fortunately the store he works at is literally just a few minutes away, basically "around the corner" from where we live :)

Thanks Darlene and Lyn! Craig is thrilled. His car is insured, registered, and he drove by himself for the first time this afternoon when he drove to work to pick up his paycheck :teeth:

It's a relief to me too because I am thinking of driving down to NJ this Friday and staying for a few days. Both kids have off of school all next week, but since Craig will have to work, I can only take Robby with me. If Craig didn't have his license and have his car on the road, I wouldn't have been able to go at all because I'd have to be here to drive Craig to work. But now that he can drive himself, I can leave him and John "home alone" for a few days. LOL My doctor appt is next Wed so I'm thinking of picking Robby up at lunchtime on Friday and driving down and then coming home Tuesday afternoon.

Have a safe trip and hope you get out of town before it gets too bad. We are supposed to have snow changing onto rain from Sunday night into Monday morning. It's crazy, I was watching the local FOX weather and they said we will have a high of 38 on Monday. If you guys back east are ready for springtime, then come visit me. My roses are starting to leaf out, my plum tree is getting leaves and my dogwood tree is covered in buds (but hasn't started blooming yet). Yesterday the pollen count for trees reached the 'high' category and my sinuses informed me of it before I ever saw it on the news. (Oh goody, I get to start my spring allergies a month early.)

I'm not ready for spring yet. I'm not quite done getting the inside of the house back together after the holiday season (I've still got to get the spare bedroom back in livable condition) and now it looks like I need to find time to get outside and weed my flowerbeds. Next it will be time to drag the mower out of the garage and tune it up for the year. :flower3:

Films, photos, and video do not do the city justice. You really need to be there to appreciate it. We will go back when the weather is milder (SEND THAT SPRING, DORI).

Of course the best part of our trip was spending time with DS & wife.

Terry, a big congratuations to Craig :cheer2: :cheer2:. Scott got his license last August 13. His 6 month probation was over on Feb. 13 so he can now drive with with anyone 20 and younger without having to have a licensed parent, guardian or other licensed driver 25 years of age or older with him. He still cannot drive between midnight and 5 AM. He be able to do that when he's had his license for one year. It's nerve-wracking having a teen driver but it's so nice to ask him to drive to the store if I need something :) One thing I make him do (and he hates it) is he has to call us when he gets to his destination and again when he leaves to come home. Of course, I worry about him driving but I worry about the other drivers out there more!!!

My kids have off school tomorrow (Staff Development Day) and Monday (President's Day). I have Monday off as well. :Pinkbounc We leave in a month for our cruise to the Mexican Riviera on the Diamond Princess so I told them all that they're trying on their dress clothes, etc. this weekend because I don't want to rush around at the last minute because something doesn't fit anymore or shoes are too small.

Terry - Drive safely and have fun in NJ!

Darlene - What kind of job are you offering? Who knows? It could be more fun than the one I'm doing at the moment! I'll also do my best to encourage the warm weather to head east!

Doreen - HAve a safe trip to Karen's house. Ask her when she's going to come out and play with us some more.

Bobby - You can ignore the PM I sent you. I found where I saved the link.

Sue, Joanna, Lisa and all those folks lurking - Hi! I hope that things are going well for you.

To all those missing in action - Where are you?!!!

Things have been kinda nuts for me this week. I'm so glad that it's Friday!

Devin did bring his grades up (at least they were all Cs and higher this time). YEA!!! He really screwed-up first quarter and this last report card was the average of the first two quarters. Now, if he can continue the same level of effort, he should have no problem getting them ALL to Bs this next quarter. (We would be requiring higher grades than this from him if he wasn't in the gifted program at school. He's already doing high school-to-college level work in the seventh grade.)

I have been working on the t-shirt designs again this week. I've got all of the transparencies done now (for both shirts), except for the lettering which I hope to get done in the next week or so. Then I get to use them to create the screens. I'm trying to get to the point that I can start testing out the printing process by April and hope to be able to start taking orders by May or June. I'll give you guys all the specifics on sizes, prices, etc once I'm ready for production.

Well, I better get back to work. I've got a meeting in about 15 minutes.

It amazes me the amount of work that goes into creating a t-shirt design. Guess I just never thoght about it before. Thank you for all you are putting into it for us.

Glad to hear that Devin brought up his grades! Good for him.

I'm sure you are way over-qualified for the job. But if you want to move to NJ I'd be glad to give you a shot at it. Let's see- Qualifications:

1. Know your ABC's (yes, in order)
2. Be able to file using numbers with decimals
3. Understand (very) basic construction terms, ie-footing, foundation, etc
4. Speak politely on the phone (this is a toughie)
5. Remember what day it is
6. Remember that we schedule for tomorrow (not yesterday)
7. Try not to be too, too superior when you tell everyone how over-qualified you are
8. Show up on time

If you are interested let me know!

My, my, did I have a bad day. Forgive me.

Darlene -

I'm willing to take almost any job at this point. I've been upgrading Medicaid systems for the last three years. I'm what is known as an edit/audit specialist. When you get a medical explanation of benefits (EOB) which states that you are only allowed one eye exam every two years, that is an audit. Edits are data checks to make sure that the information on the current claim is accurate and correct. An audit is looking at the medical history of the recipient of the claim to make sure that things "jive" (no ingrown toenail fixes on a foot that was amputated four years ago, etc.).

I've spent this week trying to test some changes to the audit process. It seemed like, if the claim would pay then the recipient didn't have any history to check against. Or... if the recipient had a bunch of history, then I couldn't get a claim to pay (for the life of me). Claims have to be in a 'paid' status before the audits are performed against it. I was trying to determine how the process was walking through the history claims. At this point, I think that I've got keyboard-prints permanently embedded on my forehead from pounding my head against the keyboard.

So, what is it that you do for a living? From the description, it sounds like some sort of library or engineering/civil engineering type job.

Don't worry about the t-shirt gig. It's what I do to relax. I come from a very artsy/craftsy type family. It helps me to balance out the technical and creative sides of my personality.

By the way I have decided that I'm going to print several t-shirts (about 40, in various sizes) before I start taking orders. With the size of this group (150+), I want to have a head-start before I begin taking orders.

My official title is "Technical Assistant to the Construction Official". I am a public servant in local government. One of the things I love about the job is the blending of the creative and the technical. So I know what you mean. I am also a certified Paralegal. About twice a semester I teach seminars to Technical Assistants through Rutgers University. I'd love to expand on that someday.

It sounds like you have quite a puzzle to work through. I bet you love the challenge though, right. You mean to tell me there isn't a little person wearing a visor sifting through all my info looking for conflicts and inaccuracies and typing up my EOB? I'm disappointed.

I'm hoping to need a smaller size t-shirt next year. I'm also hoping to win the lottery but that doesn't seem likely either since I don't buy lottery tickets!

Tell Stan congratulations, I've only been home three weeks and cabin fever has already set in with me. The only thing I wish with going back to work, would be, that is was 50 degrees warmer, then I wouldn't have to worry about snow and ice!!! Oh well, what are you going to do, that's part of life in NJ!!!

O.K. So I may have had some extra time on my hands the past few weeks, but I did put it to some good use (I think). Check out this link and let me know what you think about it. This is not to replace Dori's t-shirt design, it's just something I came up when I found this website.

Hey if you guys want to make it so that I only have to build one t-shirt instead of two - it's no skin off my nose! I like Andy's design too! :teeth:

I'm still trying to send some warmer weather east to you guys. Today we have blue skies and temperatures in the 50s. (The tree pollen has been 'high' for about four days now. I guess that I better get the 'springtime allergy nasal spray' refilled for both Devin and I. It looks like we're gonna need it early this year.)

Darlene -
I'm so glad to hear about Stan! I've been going through a similar situation here. My best friend's father (the friend helping me with the t-shirts, this guy is my "other Dad") just had surgery for colon cancer about a week and a half ago. He's still in the hospital because he popped a couple of his internal stitches and had to have a drain put in. They are watching him closely for signs of infection at this point. I sent him a 'boredom relief kit' the other day, filled with reading material, crossword puzzles, etc to help keep him occupied while he's stuck in a hospital bed.

And yes, as frustrating as my job can be at times, I do love the challenge. I'm the type of person that loves puzzles of all kinds and, to me, the computer programming thing is just another puzzle. I enjoy figuring out how things all fit together and how it rearranges when you change one part.

I'm so sorry to hear your "other dad" is having complications with his surgery. To tell you the truth, Stan's complication was more nerve-wracking than the surgery itself. It took so long for the drains to do their job and collapse the abscesses. Even though he is back to work I still look for signs of infection, fever, chills, pain. We go Monday to the oncologist.

How old is your friend? Please tell him he is in our thoughts and prayers. I hope he has skilled and kind nurses. Stan did so much better under some nurses than others. Let me know how he is doing.

Tina - Tell Brooke congrats!!! Alexandra is getting an honesty award this month. They give a character award to 7 or 8 kids a month.

Doreen - Have a safe trip. I hope you got out before the snow. I hate lake effect.

14 days until Carnival cruise - I need to start packing this weekend because the next two weeks are just crazy. In the last week my DH's grandmother died and I just found out the my step-grandfather had a heart attack this morning. He has been married to my grandmother for 26 years - I never knew my real grandfather. On top of that my FIL will be having surgery for his colon cancer soon. When it rains, it pours.

Darlene - I just found out last night that my 'other dad' came home from the hospital this weekend. They even removed the drain before he left. Thank goodness! I'm not sure exactly how old he is, but would have to guess that he's in his early seventies. Don't let the age fool you. He's one of these types that doesn't slow down much. In fact when I found out about the popped stiches I told Traci (my friend) that we should have duct-taped him to the hospital bed before the anesthesia wore off (she agreed).

Linda - Don't be too jealous of our early springtime weather. It's going to cause major problems for us later this year. There is serious talk of drought in the area this summer. Our snow-pack is only about 1/3 of what it should be and that is going to adversely affect our water supply this summer when we rely on the snow melt for water. According to the news, the local water reserviors are currently stock-piling water, but they don't think that it will be enough to meet our needs. Oh goody, it sounds like we get to deal with water rationing this summer!

Hi Guys

Hope you are all well, sorry I have not posted for a few days, but I have picked up a lousy chest infection and cold again.

The weather here is freezing at the moment, and the forcast this week is snow, snow, snow.

Avon is going very well and my first order came to just over £400 so I was really pleased.

Vicki will be going back to school tomorrow after having a week off, so back to the early morning run before work for me to get her to the school bus in time. I am sure the neighbours are relieved she is back tomorrow, so they dont have to hear the drum playing all day.lol

Off now to put my electric blanket on and have an early night, gosh it's ffffreezing.

I am FINALLY up to date. I have been trying to catch up for weeks now! I feel as though I know all of you. We are: me Heather (36), dh BOB-Don (35) and dd (7). Ages as of cruise, infact my daughter is turning 7 on the 22nd. We also have early seating. My mother is coming (I think) and maybe her husband? Long story!

A little backround on our cruise experience: I have cruised The Big Red Boat (1) and RCC (2) (once with my husband, his first). We are DVC members at Beach Club and love it. My daughter and I are Disney crazy. My husband thinks we are nuts! So I, anyway, should fit in with the group.

We seem to be the only one's who are doing DCL for the 1st time and with young ones. I have been waiting to do this, but now I see I should not have waited. :flower:

One thing you should know about me.......I am a horrible with spelling.....where is the spell check anyway. :confused3

Hey Lyn--check out your post total 666.

Heather--I only wish about the early retirement, I got more BAD news about that the other day. It appears the report from the township treasurer wasn't all that accurate. I heard from the township administrator this past Thursday, and he said even though I have enough years in with the township, I still need to be at least 55 to have my health benfits paid for after retirement. I only hope these knees can hold out another five more years. :confused3

I am never sure where to say I live. I am originally from North Jersey. When we went to the beach, it was always "down the shore". I live off 195. and 15 min. from Belmar.

I talked to the personnel director this afternoon and she read the township ordinance to me out of the ordinance book word for word. It states that an employee must have 20 years service "AND" attain the age of 55 to have all health benefits paid for by the township upon retirement. She did tell me not to get my hopes up, but she is going to try and see if I might be able to retire early and get my benefits paid for because of my medical condition, and the fact that in May I will have 26 years service in with the township. I'm not giving up all hope just yet. Just thought I'd share this news with you. The personnel director said she will get in touch with me once she knows something for sure. Keep those good thoughts and prayers going upward!!!

By the way I celebrate 25 years service with my company this year, but as it stands at the moment I can still see me working there for another 22.

For 25 years service with my company I can have a party or Dinner for up to 50 collegues and I can select a piece of jewellery to the value of £500($900) approx. Not sure what to go for yet, but my boss has asked me "would I like holiday vouchers instead of jewellery" as she knows I am not much of a jewel fan and that I love my holidays. What do you think I should go for, I am very excited about this. I do love my holidays, but will I regret not having a momento of my 25 years.

The governing body can make an exception to its own rules. It helps if they LIKE you. Hope Personnel can make some headway for you. Let us know how it is going.

I did hear that there were some exceptions made in the past, I'm hoping I'm one of the exceptions in the near future!!!

If truth be told...

If your knees don't hold up, then they will have the choice of giving you the early retirement or putting you on disability until you are eligible for retirement. (It kinda works out to the same thing, doesn't it?)

Dori :flower:

Actually, if I went out on ordinary disability pension, I won't get as much $$ as if I went out on early retirement because of the number of years service I have in. The disability pension would come out to 40% of my current income, where my early retirement comes out to nearly 50% of my current income. The difference is about $200.00 a month.

Andy - Question - If they ended up putting you on disability, would that be the level you would stay at forever, or would it only be for a couple of years until you were eligible for retirement? (It's nice to know this kind of stuff for future reference.)

By the way, I keep trying to send you guys some of our weather, but it doesn't seem to be working and it just keeps getting warmer here. Today were reached the low 60s.

Hello all,
Let me introduce another family for the Special Western Cruise.

Just booked on the 8/19/06 cruise.
First time cruisers. Me- Ed, DW -Beth and DD- Caitlin,

at time of cruise Me -49, DW-49 and dd- 9.

I've been lurking for a little while and have just finished all 147 pages of posts.

We are staying in a cat 6 room. # 6088.

Andy, we too have more snow on the way. I don't want it either. :sad2:

Anyone want to join me and hang that ground-hog up by his paws

In the coming days I hope to get to know you all better,
after reading all these posts, I feel part of the cruise already.

And I like the name "The Cruising Castaways" too.

Andy,

Thank you, your partially responsible for us being on board.
Thanks for pointing out, my ex agent was wrong, when they said this cruise as sold out.

I forgot to mention in my last email, we have the 6 pm seating for dinner.

Oh for those who are trying to figure out why your counters are wrong,
The DIS Board has announced they have disabled the html code. You will need to use a differant source for your counters.

Go to http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=748671

Thanks Ed, I was wondering what was going on with my countdown clocks, mine will have to wait until tomorrow to get fixed, I'm off to bed.

It is supposed to start snowing here between 8-10am on Thursday, and dumping 4-8 inches on us before it ends. Come on Spring!!!

Just wanted to pop in and say HI EVERYONE, including the new people! :wave2:

Just got back from NJ last night (had the BEST time being with my sister, niece, and my dad :sunny: ) , had a million things to do today, and I am probably quitting my job tomorrow. (In a nutshell: You probably remember, I work 1 day a week for our accountant, out of her home, and it's a long story, but I just can't work there anymore. Her live-in boyfriend is a drug addict and is wanted by the police, and I fear for my safety with him there :worried: , so I am quitting).

The kids are off of school all this week. Craig's been using his car a LOT during this past week, which is his first week on the road! LOL :moped:

Anyway, I hope you're all doing OK. I sincerely apologise for not writing any personal messages right now, but I definitely will as soon as I get the chance! Hugs to all of you! :grouphug:

Terry, I think your choice is very wise, not worth having your life in danger for a one day a week job. Stay safe and take care of yourself.

How is mom adjusting with the new driver in the house? Angelina is only a couple of years away form being able to drive, and I'm already getting nervous about that.

ANDY - I'm watching the snow come down outside my window and praying for you today.

TERRY - Sometimes you have to make those decisions. I'm sure, if need be, you will find a job that fits you and is safe. You should not have to worry about safety.

DORI - Did your friend get my e-mail?

Andy - Be careful! Maybe you should get yourself a pair of track cleats or golf shoes (the kind with metal cleats) to prevent slippage.

Terry - It's too bad that you have to do the work over at her house. Is there any way that you could do the work from home? But your well being is much more important than any job.

Hi all! I've been lurking lately and keeping up with everyone but I just wanted to say hello to everyone & welcome to the new families that have signed up.

Andy I hope you get to retire early. We will be heading to FL July/2007 & I was hoping we'd be neighbors! My mom lives in The Villages of Lady Lake which is about 1 hour north of Disney also. Wonder if she's close to your Mom? We will be moving to the Gulf coast most likely around Sarasota. I will keep my fingers crossed for you!

Terry sorry to hear about your job. Maybe you could find something else that doesn't have a lot of hours. I work 5 days a week but it only adds up to 10 hours. Not really worth the check I bring home every week but I'm a lunch monitor and it gives me a lot of experience with elementary age children before I actually become a teacher in FL. After watching hundreds of kids at a time....I am looking forward to a classroom of 20/30 kids.

It is Feb vacation here but my DD and I have a miserable cold so just laying low & yes we are getting that snow too and they say more on Monday! When will it end???

Diane - Thank you for the welcome. I hope you and your daughter feel better soon. How long have you done the lunch monitor thing? Is it as bad as I hear? My dd's principal has asked if I would be interesed in doing this. I said this year I couldn't because my dd in in half day K, but maybe next year. Then my friend said I would be have to be crazy to take that joc, they can never keep anyone in that position. What are your thoughts?

allshookup
02-24-2005, 01:56 PM
Hi Heather! It is definitely not for the faint hearted ha ha! Actually it is not that bad, at least not in our elementary school. We have a great principal who basically says it is my job to keep them safe only & all disipline should be left up to him. Of course if I sent a child for every little infraction he would not have a moment's peace, but it is nice to know that I can send anyone at anytime & the children know it too. It was really tough at first because I think they test you, just like having your own children, but if you let them know you won't put up with any back talk, running around at lunch, throwing food, or pushing on the playground (am I scaring you?), they respect you. It took a few months, but I really enjoy interacting with them all now that I know them. Like any job, some days are better than others depending on the moon cycle (just kidding don't know why they are crazier some days than others), but those two hours go so fast it is amazing. If you do give it a try...give it a couple of months before you decide for sure. Good luck!

When I started to explain that you were on the cruise and lived in Washington State he remembered exactly who you were. (I keep telling him that I'm gonna wrap him up in duct tape and throw him in the closet until he's old enough to act civilized. He'll be 13 this summer.) He usually just looks at me and laughs.
