Bev:
We flew Spirit last year and I am hooked. We upgrade to first class at the airport for $30 each and everything went like clock work. We are using them again in June for our WDW vacation and cruise. We stay overnight in AC and then go to the airport. You can book a room on either Priceline or Hotwire pretty reasonably and save yourself that long drive in the morning. Our flight leaves at 6:45 AM so we will arrive at 4:45 AM and hopefully be able to upgrade again, but there are 7 of us this time so who knows if that many seat will be available.

Andy:Never thought I would say this about a suitcase but "it is soooo cute" :cool1: Thanks for getting me motivated Well at least mine is out of the closet now. :rotfl2:
Heather: Glad Nicklolas is getting better. Keep us updated. First time I flew in a helicopter was a couple of years ago with Chuck over the Smokey Mountains. We went to Gaitlinburg Tenn. I was just in Awe. I didn't get  I tried not to look down really if that makes any sense. :confused3 It was exciting.........I will do same with this trip.
Bev: Oh Yes join in the :chat: in the AM if your up early. We have to talk softly so we don't wake up Doreen though. :rotfl:
Doreen: Sorry about your pain.......Will you be able to get it taken care of by cruise time? How is the herbal stuff working for you? :goodvibes
Terry: Are you still enjoying your washer & dryer as much as I am in knowing someone who has it?? :teeth:

It's me again. I don't know much about computers and wanted to put a family picture with my signature and have no idea how to do it. Since my DD put the dates etc on for me, she told me she would put a family picture on for me. Well when I just posted a minute ago, I saw that she did put a picture on for me - only it is Mickey Mouse instead of my family. :rotfl2: She said since Mickey is my first true love she thought it counted as a family picture.
Kids - whatcha gonna do with them :scratchin
Have a good one everyone.
Bev ::MickeyMo
Any advice on how to add a "real" picture would be greatly appreciated.
I can't help you with this sorry. I wish I could do this also. I think it's to funny your DD put Mickey for your family picture. She sounds like a hoot. :rotfl2:

Greetings, everyone! :wave2:
Mary Rose: Good to "see" you! :sunny: I'm hoping that all is well with Bobby, Cindy, and Joanna, and they're just busy right now.
Ed: Are you enjoying the sunny days we've been having? Strange how temps in the 40's feel like a heatwave! :sunny: Do you still have snow on the ground down there? Still a couple of feet, plus the snow mounds, up here. It's gonna take a LOT of warm sunny days to melt this all. Sorry about your kittie. :( We had to put our Siamese cat, Tofu, to sleep about 5 years ago. It was so sad, I hated having to tell DSs that we had to do this, but the poor cat was suffering. Two years later we got Mushu though, so we once again have a home ruled by a cat. =^..^=
Andy: I'm sure you are doing an excellent job of being Mr. Mom. On behalf of moms everywhere, thank you for the compliments. :flower3:
Doreen: I'm sorry to hear about your foot, it sounds really painful :( :( I hope you can get some relief.
newholiday!!! Wow, I have seen you on these boards for years now! It'll be great to see you and meet you on the cruise, if not before at a meet!! Welcome board, to you, your DH, and your DS! What age will your DS be at cruise time? My DSs will be 18 and 15 at cruise time. :boat:
Speaking of Pre-Cruise Meets, who is up for one this April when I'll be in NJ the week of April 18th through the 24th??
How about a New England meet for those of us further north??
Let me know if any of you can and want to meet in April in NJ, since that's coming up first. :sunny:
P.S. I actually started this reply at 9am this morning but am finishing it now at 5pm at night. LOL We've been running around all day doing banking, going to the dump, and shopping at Home Depot for supplies for DSs steam engine. All DS had to do was build a "model" of a steam engine but DH decided they need to make it a WORKING steam engine. LOL DH never does anything half way. lol

Terry - count me in for a NJ meet. I just planned a casino trip for work and we are going to the Tropicana Casino on 4/21. Just let me know where and when the meet is. Looking forward to seeing my DISfriends. :chat:
I should be paying bills etc but this is more fun. ::yes:: I did go shopping with Lindsay and she bought a dress for her senior prom that's in May. She can't wait. Then we went to the Olive Garden for lunch to celebrate Harley's 19th birthday. (Better late then never).
Hey, let's start planning another DIS cruise for 8/08. LOL :jumping1:

Hi all!
Sorry been soooo busy with school...again! Anyway I hope you all had a great St. Patrick's Day. Can you tell I'm Irish???
Terry: Love this weather! Almost feels like spring. Sorry I can not join the meet in April since we will be on our Norwegian cruise then. I would love to do a New England one!
Ed: Sorry about your cat!
newholiday: Welcome to another New Englander! I don't know if anyone answered you but I think that cat. 6 has a slight obstruction on the balcony so it's priced as a cat. 7.
Doreen: Sorry about your foot!

This was our 2nd cat in three years we had to put to sleep.
Both had simular health issues, so it was time. One lived to 15 years and the other to 16 years. Right now we have an english springer spainel, but we are planning after the aug vacation to bring home 2 kittens.
I understand about a house rulled by cats :rotfl2:
Most of the snow is melted, but a pile in the shade on the side of the garage.
Tonight/tommorow they are talking about a rain snow mix for the first day of spring.

:hyper2: Angelina and I both give "The Pacifier" a thumbs up. We both really enjoyed the movie, not to mention it was nice having a daddy/daughter date as well. We also stopped and got a bite to eat on the way home. Luckily I turned my cell phone on vibrate, because about half way through the movie Hazel called, I was wondering what that buzz was in my pocket, LOL!!! :rotfl2:
I tried calling Hazel before we left, but she didn't hear her cell phone (the ladies were in the hot tub), so I sent her a text message not to call that we were going to the movies. I should have known better, Hazel doesn't know how to open up text messages, so she never saw my message. :confused3
I never did get a nap in today, so I think I'll be crashing early. Remember at 7:34am EST Sunday, Spring "officially" arrives!!!!! It's just hours away now!!!!!

Newholidayx2 - Welcome! Don't worry about your son. There are at least 4 boys around your son's age in this group, including my son, Devin (turns 13 in June). The kids from this group that I have met are great kids and well mannered. By the way, we're a pretty informal group. What's your name?
Tina - The weather today has been rain... and more rain. :umbrella:
I don't worry too much about Mt St Helens. It is located over 100 miles SSE of my location. The prevaling winds usually come off the ocean (toward the east). The most I would experience if it really blew it's top is an earthquake and since I spent my early childhood in southern California, earthquakes don't intimidate me much.
Ed - You're working this weekend too, huh? Too bad. Me too! (Warning - technical gobbledigook coming...) We're to the point of system testing all of our changes. I'm cycle monitor for the batch systems this week. I get to log on in about an hour or so and verify that the cycles ran without error. :badpc:
And don't be scaring me, dude!!!! 200 people?!!! :crowded: If everyone in the group wants to buy a t-shirt, then I'm going to be so busy that I'm not going to have any time to eat or sleep! :scared1:
Doreen - Glad to hear that your foot is doing better! I learned a long time ago that many homeopathic remedy have existed for centuries, which leads me to believe that there must be some validity to the treatment. Since then, I try to balance traditional medicine with more natural remedies. :flower:
Heather - I'm glad to hear that Nickolas is better. It's always so stressful when someone that you care about is ill and you can't do anything about it.
Andy - Thanks for the movie recommendation! I've been wanting to see that one. Right back at ya! - Go see Robots (unless you dislike Robin Williams). I took Devin the other day. We both laughed through the whole thing! (Good luck packing! If I had left a suitcase open and empty as long as you have, I would have had a very irrate cat curled up in the middle of it! :rotfl: She hates it when I pack.)
Terry - I can empathize with your day. I spent about 5 hours running errands today. And considering that one of the stops was at COSTCO/Sam's Club (warehouse wholesaler), I'm totally broke, but well supplied.
Everyone else - I hope that life is treating you well!
Just to let you guys know - my communications may be somewhat sporadic over the next month. Life has been very chaotic for me lately and will continue to be so for a while.
I found out a couple of weeks ago that the company wasn't going to renew the lease on our office building here locally. We were told that we would all be transitioned into working from home. Then a few days later we are told that our organization within the company is reorganizing and the 'work at home' thing is not a guaranteed deal. Fortunately for me, I am being transferred to a different organization within the company that is not involved in this reorganization. So, now I am going crazy trying to get my 'spare bedroom' (and my life) reorganized into a home office. I plan to be working from home full time by the end of the school year. (Rough commute too! About 60-70 feet via the kitchen for caffeine.)

Hazel took Angelina out last Sunday and did some shopping for new Spring and Summer clothes. I was told, this was just a "start" on the shopping, it was enough to get Angelina through her Spring Break vacation this coming week. One thing I have to say is, Angelina is a good little shopper, she looks for the sales and the bargins.
Well, I turned the music off for a bit when Hazel called at lunchtime, but guess what, the suitcase is still empty, LOL!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl: :rotfl2:
I have a few years before Caitlin is looking for bargins.
She made a big haul today for spring/summer.
50 plus pieces of clothing and $780.oo dollars later, :faint: poor old dad is tapped out. :rotfl2: Well its a good thing I got those AAA rates for the Aug trip :rotfl2:

Dori: The older my DSs are getting, the more expensive the clothes are getting! They used to not pay too much attention to their clothes, but that's not the case anymore. lol I'm SURE that they don't spend or care anywhere near as much as girls do, but definitely more than I thought. lol A couple of weeks ago DS16 (he'll be 17 in a few days!) bought a pair of pants that cost $55. I guess compared to girls' clothes it isn't that much, but compared to the Lee jeans I used to buy them, it's a lot. ::yes::

Terry and Dori - I agree. Years ago, my DS didn't pay attention to "name" brands and I could get him cheaper clothes. Now I can't. I think it has something to do with noticing the opposite sex. LOL

Dori--just as I was reading what you wrote, our kitten jumped on top of my "still empty" suitcase and knocked it over. You should have seen her run as the suitcase was falling, I sat here and laughed so hard. This kitten is a trip!!! I crashed and burned about 9:15 last night and I think I woke up about 8 times during the night looking at the clock. I finally gave up and rolled out of bed at 5:20. I'm a big Robin Williams fan, all the way back to his "Mork and Mindy" days!!! :rotfl2:
Hey people--Spring arrives in less than "two hours!!!" :jumping1: At least all we got overnight was some rain, which it is still doing at the moment.
Have a great Sunday everyone, and to those who celebrate, have a "Blessed Palm Sunday."

Well, well, well,
I go away for 2 days and come back to almost 6 pages of threads, what is going on here, me thinks some people are trying to reach 200 pages fairly soon :rotfl2:
I have another 11 days yet, so I think I may just lose :rotfl:
What a fantastic weekend I have had, for those of you who might not watch BBC America, Wales won the Grand Slam at the Six Nations Rugby Championship yesterday. Yippeee :jumping1: We have been waiting 27 years to bring the trophy back home to Wales, and I have almost lost my voice through cheering at the match yesterday. I then went to my friends 40th birthday party last night in Alcester England and have just arrived back home.
It has been a brillant weekend.
I have managed to catch up with most of the posts I think so here go's:
Darlene: Beautiful Poem, thanks for sharing it.
Ed: Just recieved my email from Andy to say that you and your dear family are joining us at the Trails End this August, really looking forward to meeting you all, so sorry to hear about your cat.
Barb and Family: Welcome abaord, It will be lovley to meet you.
Mary: Hope your dad is feeling much better.
Bev: I am sure Vicki will give you photography lessons when we meet in August :cool2: Hope your mum is well.
Andy:Great news about Ed and family joining us, we can almost take over the whole of Trails End now :rotfl2: Thanks for the email. Hope Hazel is enjoying her weekend away :hyper: Have a great time in Florida
Doreen: Hope you are feeling well and that your foot is a little bit better.
Mary Rose: Great to hear from you, My daughter Vicki had her braces removed last month, they look fantastic as well. She has to wear a retainer now for a year, but that is not to bad.
Tina: Sorry I thought you were going away sooner than you were, I will drop you another pm before you go. Avon is still going very well, expecting next order next Tuesday, do you need a lipstick :rotfl2:
Heather: So glad to hear that Nickolas is getting better, hope you are well also.
Lyn: Thanks for posting the photo of you and hubby, is is great. I love to put faces to names.
Terry: Now if only I were a bit nearer, I could come to one of your dis meets, :rotfl2: never mind August 2006 will soon be here.
Diane:Hi how are you? Hope you had a happy St Pats day
Dori: Dont forget if you need help with the t/shirts, vicki and I will need a spare bedroom of yours :rotfl2:
I am sure I have missed saying something to someone, so I apologise now if I have, but a big HELLO to everybody.

Lately, that's about how I pack, 15 minutes before leaving the house. :rotfl2:
I remember our first trip to WDW in 1983, Hazel had our suitcases packed "two weeks" before we left home. Of course, with that being our first time at WDW we had to go out and buy all new clothes before the trip, and the clothes were not to be worn until we got to WDW. That doesn't happen much anymore!!! :rotfl:

Of course, with that being our first time at WDW we had to go out and buy all new clothes before the trip, and the clothes were not to be worn until we got to WDW. That doesn't happen much anymore!!! :rotfl:
I have only started my packing list for Vegas. I am already up to 4 pairs of shoes that I need to bring. In my defense there are different events that I need to attend so of course I need different shoes. :teeth: Remember I will only be gone for 6 days. :rotfl2: My DH reminds me of this.

Dori: Doesn't feel like spring here. We had freezing rain this morning then it just turned over to rain. I am glad NO MORE SNOW but with spring comes all the mud and mess everytime we take the dog out. :scared1: It drives me nuts !!
I have been busy cooking all day.........making those meals while I am away. Boy are they going to eat good. I recently found out my Mom doesn't want any red meat because of her heart so they are having alot of chicken. :teeth: I have Chicken french,Chicken mozzarella, pasta alfredo with chicken and broccoli I also made a turkey breast with all the trimmings and pork and rice. I should say I didn't make all of this today........I only have one oven. :rotfl2:

We'll most likely be staying up at my mom's place the night before the cruise. It only takes about 90 minutes to get to the port area from my mom's house. Hazel and I made the drive before our cruise in January (left at 7:45am), and we still got to stop by The Perfect Gift and visit Shirley for about 45 minutes before turning our rental car in at Budget and then took the Budget shuttle van to the port. We arrived at the port about 10:15am.

When we went this past November we stayed at the Hampton Inn at Cocoa Beach. It was very close to the port. We rented a car and was at the port by 10:30. I would guess we would stay at the same place. Tina

Hello all and welcome newcomers!
Been away for a while but you all sure have been busy! We'll get to 200 in no time. Any bets on how many pages we will have on 8/19/06? My guess - 1,500.
Anyway, I'm not much for sharing personal details (kinda shy), but I could use a little of that P&PD right about now. I received a call this morning that my dad is in the hospital. He has been admitted for a blockage in his intestine. The doctors are watching him really close and they are concerned that he could perforate his intestine, which could lead to sepsis (sp?). They are giving him medication to hopefully clear out the blockage. If that doesn't work, he will need surgery to solve the problem. From what they told me, that procedure has some significant risks with it.
He has other medical issues that complicate his treatment. Among them, he is a prostate cancer survivor - as a matter of fact, his oncologist blew off the problem when he saw him earlier this week for a checkup. Gave him some medication for heartburn and told him to go home. Four days later, dad decides to go to the ER becuase of the pain.
It is so hard dealing with this stuff when dad lives over 1,000 miles away in Florida. And DH is out of the country on business - won't be home until Wednesday night. Been trying to keep him updated by e-mail. International servers aren't the quickest. At least the kids aren't driving me crazy today!
Thanks for listening guys. And say a prayer that all will be well again, if you would.

Denise--more prayers and :wizard: for you and your dad, coming from NJ!!!
I know how you feel with having a parent 1000 miles away and not being able to be there at the drop of a hat. My mom called me Tuesday morning telling me that her blood pressure was 228/100 and the doctor wanted to put her in the hospital, she refused to go because she doesn't have any health insurance. The doctor did give her a prescription for some stronger medication and I made a deposit into her checking account so she could pay for it. Luckily, she uses Wachovia Bank and we have a Wachovia branch here in town. I was talking with my mom today, and she said she was feeling much better. At least I will get to see for myself because we had already had a trip planned to Florida this coming week.

Good morning
Its Mon morn but Im in a wonderful mood - getting ready at 9am to phone Member Services. Since we decided to cruise on cash instead of pts I have some pts that will need to be used this yr. Im hoping to change over our 5 Pop nights this Aug to a VWL studio. Then we'll bank enough pts from this yr for 5nights at WDW before the cruise. Wish me luck
And decided not to start our APs as soon as we get to Disney this Aug (will pool hop, etc) want the APs avail for part of our WDW vaca before the cruise too.
It was a wknd of many decisions - thanks for your help everyone - I gotta try to get the most bang for my buck
Have a great day
and oh ya I get to go to work and ask for my vacation time for next Aug! lol

Hi Guys-
Thanks for all of your thoughts and prayers. We still don't know anything about my dad. The doctors will make a decision on whether to operate later today. I'm still pretty worried. This is the first time he's been really sick since moving away from here. His cancer was scary, but he was here where I could see him and touch him.
It just gets better, though - this morning, I got a call from my SIL, who told me that my BIL (DH's brother) is in ICU. He apparently was working out and had trouble breathing after 30 seconds on the treadmill. The docs found a blod clot in in leg and a couple in his lungs. It is really, really serious. His wife is a mess, my IL's are a mess, and I'm still here by myself with DH still out of the country till Wed. Had to call DH's boss to try to get a number for him, since DH is not at the hotel and his cell phone is not working. I don't know what to tell him - get on a plane asap and come home, get on a plane asap to Minneapolis to be with his brother / parents / SIL or go to Florida where I can meet him there to take care of dad.
Do we have a pull you hair out smiley?

Andy - Have you packed yet..... say ::yes::. Glad to hear you enjoyed your father/daughter time. Did Hazel enjoy her girl time? Becareful, she may be hooked now! :rolleyes1 I also loved Mork and Mindy, that way one of the best shows ever! You guys have a great time! Take care of your mother. :wizard: :wizard: Be very careful to pick the right property, remember you have to meet all your DIS friends expectations and requirements also :rotfl2:
Dori - I am glad that i was not the only one who had a hard time reading that. I thought....man I really must be getting old.
Tina - You won't be needing that bag then... you are an old pro! Gee your family has it made. I don't know about the rest of you, but when my mom babysits, I leave her money and not much else. You don't know my mom do you? :rolleyes1 How is the Hampton Inn? Is it on the beach? I was thinking that maybe before or after the cruise, we could spend a few days in the area. I don't want to go to WDW... too hot for us. I heard the pool at the Radisson was really great. Would I do better at the beach? We are driving and I thought we should take a day or two around the drive.
To anyone that I may have missed :wave2: and hope you and your families are well!

Hi everyone
I read what my daughter wrote and I had a hard time understanding it. :confused3 Did we write like that when we were young? The funny thing is that she gets an "A" in english.
I'm so excited.  I finally booked the airfare for my Carnival cruise in August. I called Spirit to book it and the price went up so high I decided not to go on Spirit. I ended up booking Air Tran for the way down on the 19th of August and Southwest for returning home on the 2nd of September. It was cheaper to do it that way then going round trip with the same airline. Now I just have to figure out how I'm getting from the airport to our hotel the day before the cruise. :scratchin I was going to rent a minivan for the 7 of us but then I'd probably need another one for all the luggage. LOL Any suggestions from my DISfriends would be greatly appreciated.

Nope, not packed yet, been very busy working on a few other projects!!! My clothes are sitting on top of the clothes dryer though, they "WILL" get in the suitcase before we leave tomorrow afternoon!!! :rotfl:
If all goes according to plan, we already have a piece of property in Florida. Just have to make the offer and be accepted by the owner!!! ;)
Hazel talked with my mom this afternoon, and my mom said she was feeling much better, the new medication seems to be helping already!!! :)
Hazel had a blast this past weekend, this was "NOT" the first retreat Hazel has been on, and I can tell you this, Hazel took a nap as soon as we got home yesterday, and she never got out of her PJ's today.
I have a teenage daughter in the house, and I had no problem reading Bev's DD's message. :rotfl2: I guess I'm not as old as I thought I was!!! :rotfl2:
O.K., back to work, then pack, pack, pack!!! I don't feel too bad, Hazel and Angelina aren't packed yet either. We're not leaving for the airport until around 3pm on Tuesday, so we have plenty of :hourglass to pack!!! :rolleyes1

Yep as I said, takes about 15 minutes if in a hurry, then a stop at WalMart to fill in the missing items :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl2:
You could put the suitcase at the base of the dryer, moved the kitty off the pile and then push the clothes into the suitcase.

No, I will be staying at Old Key West resort this Aug,
I booked and got AAA rates, and got it less than if I rented points.
Today I rebooked our Ftw Cabins and also got AAA rates,
Now that we are staying 12 days total we decied to get AP for all of us.
If AP rates come out for Aug we will try to get that applied too :cool1:
I love it, Im now staying more days and its costing us less.

Hi There :wave2: Devin--welcome!!!
Yes, I'm sure I'll be checking in this thread from my mom's place. We gave my mom Angelina's old computer, which used to be my older computer, but at least it still works, and my mom mainly uses it to keep in touch with the family back home.
I fell asleep last night after watching SuperNanny, but I had my alarm set for 12:01 so I could get up and print off our boarding passes. Don't you know, I sign in on the Southwest site, enter my info in, then find out I can't print off our boarding passes because Angelina has a youth ticket. It took me about two hours to get back to sleep, I was not a happy camper to say the least.
My bags are packed, I'm ready to go........ :cheer2:
I'll be checking in later, we have a busy morning ahead of us.

Since I was awake from 12:00am until 2am this morning, I decided I might as well get my suitcase packed, and that's just what I did with my free time. Hazel is at CVS getting prescriptions filled, I'm sitting here waiting for the FedEx truck, we have a "very important" package on the truck and is scheduled to be delivered by 10:30 this morning. We then have to take Midnight and Stefani to the vet's where they will be boarded while we are away. Stefani will be getting spayed while we are gone, and Midnight has to have the staples removed from the surgery he had two weeks ago. I still have to get to the post office and the bank "after the package arrives" before we leave as well. See, I told you we had a busy morning today!!! Here is the FedEx truck!!!

Andy - you mentioned Angelina has a youth ticket so you couldnt check in online with Southwest. How did they distinguish her as a youth. When I went online and bought my families tickets for PHL-LAX for the repo cruise they only asked how many passengers total. Now Im concerned that I may not be able to check in online and I would hate not to be able to sit next to my kids on a 6 hour flight to CA. And I seriously doubt that any stranger would want to sit next to my PITA 6 year old for the flight either - LOL.
Ive never flown Southwest before and am a little concerned with this cattle call boarding procedure but for $79 a person to LAX - I figured I would take a chance.
As far as a DIS meet - April 24th is no good for me - Its Connors birthday. April 23rd is a possibility - right now no plans on the calendar.

Doreen - I guess I will just have to decide if we will add on before or after the cruise. If you had a few days would you stay at the Radisson (great pool) or Cocoa Beach?
Tina - Everything will be fine while you are away.....well the house will still be standing......but,.....maybe not in the same place. :rotfl2: After we come back from a trip, we realize we will have 1-2 weeks that we have to retrain my daughter. Heather,
Sorry for confusing you,
My wife had booked a package with WDW before Magic your way came out
Since then I booked the cruise for 2006 and asked my agent if any AAA rates were available.
Then I added a second trip with AAA rates.
We are staying at Old Key West with AAA rates.
Over all with the money we saved with using AAA room only its costing us less that if I purchased points for staying at Old Key West.
Then I added IF AP rates come out for Aug we will try to get them for even more saving

Hey BOBBY!
Hello to DEVIN!
Adios to ANDY! Glad you have a packed bag to take with you...rest and relax.
Stan is doing well, but he did scare me a little last night. Sandy and I were out and when we came home Stan was sitting in the living room. He looked so weak and tired. I helped him out of the chair and up to bed. I completely forgot all the things on my to-do list.
We had a BlackTie Formal Wedding this past weekend in Newark and I think it took alot out of Stan to attend. He slow danced with me because he knows how much I love dancing with him. Overall it was just a really long affair. Beautiful, but long.
The reception was on the 22nd floor with an outstanding view of what seemed like all of North Jersey and New York. I could probably see some of your homes! Well, maybe not Dori's.
HEATHER I hope DD's friend is doing well at home and he recovers quickly.
My friend DOREEN is so right when she says you were all there for me and Stan. You are all a blessing.
GINNY we have flown Southwest several times and I didn't know they had a youth ticket. You certainly want to check-in online. Although I would sit next to any of your kids anytime.
Talk later,
Darlene

This is our first time flying with Southwest, I found out quite a bit today that I don't really care for, might be our last time flying Southwest as well. We're heading to the airport in a few minutes so we can get our boarding passes. I didn't know about the cattle boarding until just a few minutes ago. I had Hazel call Southwest as we were on our way home from dropping Midnight and Stefani off. I didn't even know Southwest didn't have First Class seating until this morning either. We had bought these tickets to use back in November, but transferred then for this trip. Live and Learn!!!
We're parking our car in the Economy parking lot, $8.00 per day, still cheaper than using Rapid Rover, and our car will be there when we arrive home Sunday afternoon.
Gotta Run!!! :moped:

Welcome to you and your family :wave2: ! Sorry you had to miss CC on your last cruise. This trip we will have 2 chances...pretty good odds
Ed - I DO get easily confused :confused3 ....i get it from my mom :rotfl2: No matter how you got it, I am happy you were able to extend the trip. I guess the savings will help cover Caitlin's shopping. :rolleyes1
Darlene - I am sorry to hear Stan is having a bad day. Each day will get better. My friend would have a schedule down pat to know when her husband would be up for things and when he wouldn't. It was good that you had a nice time at the wedding. I am sure it was good for him to make you smile. Where was the reception? Need to keep a list for when my dd gets married. :earseek: . Thank you for your well wished, Nick is doing better but, has a long way to go. To top it off I called my other good friend last night and her 1 yr old was taken to the hospital via ambulance! He had been sick for a few days, but yest. she had a hard time waking him. She called today and he has the Roto Virus. I guess it was just worse for him. She hopes he will be realeased tom. I am truly afraid to answer my phone anymore!

Hi everyone :wave2:
Welcome, rotty! Where in MA are you? There are quite a few of us New Englanders going on this cruise :)
Ok, regarding the get-togethers:
I will be in NJ from Monday April 18, until Sunday, April 24th. I will drive home on that Sunday, but I can stay until early afternoon, if we do a brunch again.
So, why doesn't everyone pick the day that is better for them and post it here? If there are a lot of people who can only go on either Saturday OR Sunday, then maybe we can do 2 meets so no one is left out who wants to meet up. :)
Doreen, did you say that Karen would be able to go on one of those days?? (I might have read wrong, but I think said she'll be bringing the kids up or something??) :confused3
IN ADDITION TO NJ: Who would like a New England meet? Maybe here in Massachusetts?? Since it'd be local for us, we can pick a weekend that is good for all of us. I live about a half hour south of Boston, where is everyone else? We can pick someplace that is convenient for all of us :)
Darlene: I'm so sorry that Stan isn't feeling as well right now :( What a wonderful man he is though, to dance with you when he's feeling weak. Please give him a gentle hug from me :)
Andy, Hazel, and Angelina: Have a wonderful trip! :sunny:
I do not mean to leave anyone out. I just don't have a chance right now to read back and reply to everything. :guilty: I have been reading the posts though, and I'm sending everyone with sick loved ones lots of prayers.

Hey Guys
Will pop on later and have a good read on the posts and a natter but I just wanted to share something nice with you:
You may remember that I had to get in touch with a friend of mine at DCL concerning one of my earlier questions for the quiz I am hosting on the UK community board, for confirmation of one of the answers. Well I explained to him, why I was enquiring and told him all about the quiz, and how the top 3 or possibly more in my case win a little prize. He thought it was a great idea and wished me all the best.
Anyway woke up this morning and the postman delivered me a package with the DCL logo on the front, very excited I opened it up and inside there was a small note thanking me for taking the time to contact him over my enquiry, and for my trouble he would like me to accept a small gift for myself and my daughter. I had a beautiful photoframe with the Disney ship on it,and a Disney Calender and my daughter had a Disney calender.
He also enclosed the latest copy of the DCL planning dvd which I am going to watch later on.
Hey maybe if I ask him another one, he could get me into Walts Suite when I go next year
How nice was that, I was thrilled to bits.
Just thought I would let you all know.

The wedding reception was at the Newark Club. Absolutely top-notch. Can't say much for the area surrounding it but we stayed at the Hilton and that was nice too. You have quite some time before you plan a wedding for DD. I know I already have ideas for Sandy and she is only 7. LOL What do you think of a WDW wedding? My friend had her son's wedding there this year and another son's next year. She raved about it.

I'm not certain I can make either day for bruch, but I will sure try.

Since Bob is management he was working 15-16 hours a day and the poor guy came home exhausted and then I made him perform. He did well... First month trying we got Connor.

Hi everybody :wave2: What a day we had, let me tell you!!!
Maybe I'll tell you about it later today, as it is 12:15am and we just arrived here at my mom's about 15 minutes ago. Today's trip was an adventure to say the least, but we made it here safe and sound, and that's the important part!!! We are all very tired and just want to get some shut eye. We might be going to De Leon Springs on Wednesday for some "RELAXATION" and "SWIMMING!!!!!"
I miss my cable service already, this dial up is a monster to deal with!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl: :rotfl2:

Oh yes the snow has melted a GREAT deal. It is much safer now. Driveways and a corner to get to my Mom's house had been tricky with the high snowbanks. We did get some snow last night, just a very little!
Talked with my father last night at length. He is having his surgery on Friday for his shoulder. His foot is STILL too swollen to cast it. I will be picking my Grnadmother up around 7 AM so we can meet my father and SM to follow them down. I live about 45 mins. from Gram. she lives about 45 mins from my father and they live about 1 hour from the hospital!! Other's closer but he insisted on going to this one. A long day coming up on Friday.
Then he is talking about where to find his will and living will and such. I told him it is only shoulder surgery!! His comments were things can still go wrong.
Oopss, sorry I am an only child and as my parents are getting older it is really hitting me much will be on MY shoulders!! I shall stop running on and on now :)
To all those whose loved ones are ill, my prayers go out to you.
Headed off to :teacher: to see what my children there are up to. I have a few who are just  's and lift ones spirits easily.
Have a superb day all, Mary

Good Morning Fellow Castaways from Stormy Central Florida,
I was awakened (is that a word?) at 6am to the sounds of a severe thunderstorm passing directly over my mom's place. The pounding of the rain on the roof was quite relaxing, but I don't know how everyone else but me slept through the crashing thunder. Anyhow, I'll take this any day compared to having to be in NJ and going to work, LOL!!!
Unless the weather improves we might not be going swimming later today. It is still quite overcast, but those who have been to Florida knows how the weather can change in just 15 minutes time.
My tummy is growling, so I'm going to see what my mom has for us to eat. I'll check in with y'all later.

Good morning everyone,
Rotty - welcome to our group. It's a great group of people.
Linda - welcome back. I can't wait to hear all about the Glory. I'm going in August and getting excited. There's 7 of us going - my family of 4 and one of my co-workers who has never been on a cruise :boat: and her two teens who have never flown or been on a cruise. It will be very interesting. :Pinkbounc
Andy - glad you had a safe trip. I flew Southwest before and enjoyed it. We had "A" boarding passes and were the first on the plane. I found the flight attendants older and nicer than the other airlines. They really made the trip fun with telling jokes and singing on the flight. For our cruise, if I book it early enough to get a good price, I'll probably take Spirit. Never flew Spirit before.
Mary - sending PD for your father. :wizard: Good luck with his surgery. I understand what you are saying with "having alot on your shoulders". Sometimes we take people for granted and it's hard to realize when someone you love gets sick, that things might change. My mom's 87 and I guess I still think she'll be around forever and still be there for me ( and she is here for me). A few weeks ago, when she passed out and was rushed to the hospital, I realized that, for me, things will change. I have to be there for her and it's hard for me to face that she's getting older. (Especially since I'm still only 25. LOL) It's hard being part of the "sandwich generation" - taking care of children and parents. With you being an only child, I can imagine how hard it is for you. But somehow we get the strength to do what we have to do. We're all here for you. :grouphug:
Terry - whenever you decide for the meet, will be fine with us (except 4/21 since I'll be at Atlantic City. Just looking forward to meeting everyone -old and new . Oops, I don't mean age wise LOL. Just looking forward to meeting my DISfriends.
Hope everyone has a sunny day. :sunny: It's :umbrella: in Philly.

More bad news for little Nicholas. He has a hemotoma and will need surgery again! This family truly needs a break. I am amazed at how strong some people are, I wish I had half there strength.
Denise - Your father and bil continue to be in our prayers. I hope you and your family receive good news soon. :wizard:
Mary - We will try and send some spring your way. I am sure everything will go well for your dad on Fri. Is there anyway a friend can keep you company also? This is one reason I want a sibling for my daughter. But, remember, you are not alone. All of us are here for you from a distance.
Doreen - Oh my! I am so sorry to hear you have Pnemonia. You are another that deserves a break! :wizard: I'm glad tha Karen is back and was able to stay and help you.
Bev - Good luck with the endoscopy. I have had that, it can be a little uncomfortable. I understand your fear, I think we all are afraid, even for the simplist procedures. Here is some :wizard: to reassure you.
Ginny - Any work on the job?
Linda - Glad you had a great time. When everything settles down, let us in on more details.
Andy - Glad to hear you made it to FL, bur sorry you had such a difficult time getting there...12:00 am :sad2: Sending some :sunny: your way. It is raining here. At least it is not snow :cold: .
Ed - Speaking of snow....I hope you don't get that much! :earseek: You need to notify someone that it is spring up there. I think someone forgot. :sad2:
Darlene - I did not know of a nice place in Newark. I can add it to my list. I think a WDW wedding would be great, but I would not want it in the wdding chapel. Although..... the point at the Poly looking at the castle would be cool......or maybe at or infront of the castle......or...Hey I guess I am forgetting that it will be HER wedding! :confused3 Anyway you are right, we have plenty of time....I hope.
Sue - What a surprise! :cheer2: I think that is the coolest thing when it is for no reason. To think of that level of service is cool. I was begining to think that Disney had lost alot of the magic. You have regained my awe and I thank you.
Hope all is well with everyone else!

He said it was a little hard to judge the person interviewing him over the phone but he felt he did well. He spent alot of time preparing on Monday and was able to respond to all his questions. From what we understand its down to Bob and 3 others and Bob is the only out of town candidate they are considering. We should hear something next week as to whether they are going to fly him down and go over the logistics.
Please keep your fingers crossed. I can tell Bob was very excited when he got off the call... but he's trying not to think about it too much since its still very up in the air.

Thoughts and prayers coming from Florida for all those who are suffering, or who has family members who are ill.
I had Friday March 25 for the date we hit 200 pages, come on people, we can make it on Friday, can't we??? :confused3
My mom and I just arrived back to her place aftrer running errands in Deland this morning. Upon arriving home, I received an e-mail from a DIS'er friend that lives about an hour drive from my mom. I was asked if we were O.K., because she had heard on the news that tornados had been reported in Deland. My mom lives about 10 miles outside of the town of Deland. I did see some trees knocked over from the storms that went through this morning, but I didn't know about the tornados being spotted. We did have some hail this morning with the storms that came through. Still, all in all, it's better then being in chilly rainy NJ!!!
On the way back from Deland, we stopped and made ressies to go on a paddle boat and all you can eat buffet lunch ride for Saturday. We're hoping to get to De Leon Springs either this afternoon or on Thursday, that's the only thing that Angelina requested that we do during this trip.
O.K., it's now lunchtime, so I'm going to fix myself a sandwich and see what's on tap for this afternoon.
Bye All, will report back in when I can!!!!!

Andy,
I was checking the weather undergound site for Fl this morning and saw the
Tornado Warning posted, Didnt know it was in your area.
Here is what is posted now.
This mornings Tornado Watch has been allowed to expire... but isolated severe thunderstorms are still possible later this afternoon. At 11 am this morning...a shrinking line of showers and thunderstorms was located from Holopaw to Sebring moving east-northeast at 35 to 40 mph. Fortunately...the threat of severe weather has recently diminished as storms within the line have shown a recent decreasing trend in intensity. However...a few strong storms are still possible mainly over Okeechobee County near Basinger and the town of Okeechobee. Through 1 PM...showers and thunderstorms are expected to occur mainly south of a line from Kissimmee to Cape Canaveral. Storms are expected to be more numerous over Okeechobee...Saint Lucie... and Martin counties...from Basinger to Fort Pierce and Stuart. Strong storms remain possible in this area with local wind gusts to 40 mph and small hail. Again...the thunderstorms will move to the east-northeast at 35 to 40 mph. Importantly...the threat for isolated severe storms still exists for this afternoon...and push offshore from Fort Pierce southward.
Forecast for Inland Volusia County
Stay dry, this to shall pass.
Doing my part to hit 200 by tomorrow night :rotfl2: :goodvibes :rotfl2:

Hi. It's me, Bev, Lindz's mom. LOL. I see she's been posting and trying to get to 200 pages by tomorrow.
Where's all the other kids/teens??
Well, I survived the endoscopy. Thanks for all the :wizard: It was quick and when I got up to leave, I couldn't figure out why the ship was rocking - then I realized it was me. :teeth: I'll have the results from the biopsies in about 2 weeks. I'm not going to think about it - only thinking about the cruise.
It's been pouring :umbrella: out all day. At least rain is better than snow.
After we hit 200, what's next :confused3 . How about 500 pages by August 19, 2005?? Anyone up for the challenge??
Bev ::MickeyMo
Glad it was quick. Hope it wasn't as bad as you thought it was going to be. Feel better soon. I am up for the challenge. :cheer2:

:wave2: Hi All,
We just arrived home after spending the afternoon swimming at De Leon Springs (water temp 72 degrees). While swimming we found out that 25 million gallons of water a day comes out of this spring. I took a few photos today while we were there and will be adding the photos to my webshots account after we return home. The afternoon was overcast with a few rumblings of thunder in the distance, but all in all, we had a very relaxing time.
Yesterday, we left for the airport at 12:15 and arrived at 12:35, went to the economy parking area where we were first told that the parking lot was FULL. A few seconds later a second lot attendant came and told us to go all the way to the very back of the lot to the restricted area where the buses turn around. It took me almost as long to get back there as it took to get from my house to the airport, LOL!!!. Once we parked, we only had about a ten minute wait for the shuttle bus to take us to Terminal "E" where we went to check in for our flight. We arrived at the Southwest counter at 1:10 and were checked in by 1:15, we were placed in Group "B" for boarding. Our flight was scheduled to leave at 5:10, so getting there four hours ahead of time paid off for us.
We went to our gate area and sat around until about 4pm when I made my way over to our gate and planted myself down as the first family to board under the Group "B" sign. Our plane started boarding around 4:30 with the Pre-boarding group first, followed by Group "A", then I led the Group "B" charge!!! I was able to get all three of us together in row 8 seats D, E, and F. The plane was fully loaded and the doors were shut at 5:00, it was looking real good for our 5:10 departure time, "THEN" the announcement came from the captain, "Due to severe thunderstorms off the Southeast states of South Carolina and Georgia, are flight has been delayed in leaving the gate for 30 minutes. After about 40 minutes had past the captain came back on and said, "We are now clear to depart the gate area." A loud thundering applause was heard throughout the aircraft. Once pulling away from the gate, it was another 30 minutes before we were actually airborne, there were quite a few planes ahead of us waiting to take off. We were due in Orlando at 7:45 but actually landed at 8:20.
We stopped at a Denny's off of I-4 to get something to eat because we hadn't eaten since arriving at the airport in Philly earlier in the day. I think it was almost midnight before we finally made it here to my mom's.
All in all, it wasn't that bad flying with Southwest, I just didn't like the fact that I didn't have seat assignments before boarding the plane. I saw one family of six come in with the Group "C" boarding passes and they were placed all over the aircraft. I just don't think we will book with them again after our flight home this Sunday.
I guess that's about it for now, not sure what is in store for tomorrow, we're taking this trip, moment by moment and really enjoying ourselves!!!
Later Gator!!!

Who is going to be the person that hits the 200th page............ :cool1:
Bev: I am glad it was quick for you. Why did they have to do this test are you having problems? You probably already wrote about this and I missed it. These pages are moving quickly.
Andy: I am sorry for your delay. It is really horrible when you have to sit on that plane and just wait forever to leave.

Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. As it stands now, it looks like they all will be answered.
I did finally get in touch with DH in Mexico. I think that I worried his assistant, his boss and his boss' assistant when I called the office trying to track him down. He had several meesages from them saying that he needed to call in. And he finally did. He wound up finishing his trip, as we didn't think that he could do anything but pray for his brother.
To make a very long story short, my dad is passing the blockage without surgery (yay!!). He said that he has never been so excited to have a B.M. in his life. His doctor told him that he is just full of ****. Hopefully, he will be released tomorrow morning and will recuperate at home until next week.
For DBIL, he too seems like everything will be O.K. The doctors think that he developed the blod clot in his leg from his trip home from Paris and it broke apart and parts of it moved to his lungs. He was moved from ICU yesterday and will be taking blood thinners for up to one year. He hopefully will be able to go home by the end of the week and will be on bed rest at home for 2 - 3 weeks. As in, get up for the bathroom and that's about it. It will be very difficult for him as he is definitely not one to sit around and loaf. I think that this has really been a wakeup call for him, his wife, my DH and I and my in-laws. Life really is precious and all can be taken from you in a heartbeat.
DH arrived home safely this afternoon from his trip. I can truly say that I have never been so glad to have him home as I did this week.
Again, I thank you all for listening to me rant. My heartfelt thanks for all of the prayers and words of encouragement.
Now, onward to 200 pages!

All kidding aside, I really do feel for everyone that is still dealing with this Spring snow, I'm just glad I'm not dealing with it this time around. It really is a picture perfect morning here. This would probably go down as one of those top 10 days of the year here in Florida.
We saw a few places that are interested in, but haven't made any offers just yet. We want to be certain before we invest any of our hard earned $$. One thing Hazel and I did agree on was, we want to spend the winters in Florida after retirement!!!
Well fellow Castaways, I must check a few more messages, then go sit on my mom's front porch and have a cup of tea. Stay warm and dry!!!

This is Terry (SeaSpray) on my husband's computer. The power went out on my computer this morning for no reason, I hope it's ok. I'll have DH John-Bob check it out when he gets home tonight. He's my personal computer-genius-tech-guy, so I have faith in him that he'll be able to fix it :)
We're leaving in the morning to go to NJ until Monday. If I don't get the chance to sign on before we leave, someone else please do the countdown. :hourglass We're going down for an anniversary party on Saturday, but I'm just glad for the time to spend with my sister and niece. BTW my niece is 33, and not a little kid :earboy2: Her and my sister are my best friends in the world :grouphug:
Sue: That is great about DCL sending those things to you and Vicki! Very cool! :)
Darlene: How is Stan feeling? Any stronger since the weekend? I sure hope so.
Doreen: I always think of you, Lyn, and Karen when I get my nails done :teeth: Just yesterday I had a nail appointment and saw the new OPI colors. Some of them are a little too orangey for me, so I went with an old standby "Outback Aphrodisiac" :earboy2:

Andy: I'm glad you're having a good time in SUNNY Florida :sunny: We got 6" of snow this morning but most of it has melted already!
Have a great weekend everyone, "see" you when we get back on Monday! :3dglasses

o.k guys and gals how about a little cruise talk? :chat: Since the pirate theme is fairly new I am sure they will have it around by the time we cruise. Is anyone planning on getting a pirate costume? pirate:

Denise - My dd has off the last week of April. If I had been smart I would have planned a vacation for that week. It seems that no one really has that week and the rates would not be bad.....there is still time though ;) Good luck to Brittany in her competition.
Andy - CONGRATULATIONS :cheer2: :cheer2: . What could be better than a house in :sunny: Fl? A house in :sunny: FL on SAME street as mom! I am so glad everything worked out better than planned.
Ginny - It sounds like Andy will have room for you. :rotfl:
Ed - My vote will be you for 1st on page 200. You have been 1st most of the time since you signed in here.
Ed, Tina, Terry - Glad to hear the melting has started. We have already put the snowblower away!
Bev - you had me :rotfl: At first I thought you meant babies! I think Terry would :earseek: :rotfl2:
Doreen - Hope you are feeling better and your house has been too crazy!
Terry - Have a great trip. I am sorry to report it may rain alot for you...but at least it is not snow :cheer2:

Tina I actually was a pirate wench for Halloween last year. The costume was $100 :earseek:. I was thinking about wearing in. My dd also went on the Pirate trip (tour at WDW) and she got a pirate hat w/ mickey ears. I will see what I can find for the rest of the outfit.

Hi everyone :wave2:
This is Terry (SeaSpray) on my husband's computer. The power went out on my computer this morning for no reason, I hope it's ok. I'll have DH John-Bob check it out when he gets home tonight. He's my personal computer-genius-tech-guy, so I have faith in him that he'll be able to fix it :)
Terry,
With any luck it will be a small issue,
I know this might sound dumb, but have you checked the electric cord is fully plugged in, or possibly the electric socket might have gone bad, or the monitor has become unplugged so it appears the computer is off.
Hope for the best
Ed

Bye the way my loving dh Bob (Don) sent me flowers yesturday. He knew I had been down lately. AWWWWWW  He sent 30 tulips. He knows I get upset when he spends money on flowers that just die. Anyway he ordered them from Pro Flowers. They ship direct from the fields! They are so new they have not even bloomed! :flower: . I also felt thier prices were good compaired to FTD or 1800flowers. Anyway just thought I would pass on the information.

Tina - what is the Pirate thing. Is it a party? Do they throw someone overboard? LOL
Got to get ready for class tonight. We're having a test and I didn't even have a chance to study. Spent most of the day sleeping (when I wasn't online).
Just doing my contribution to reach 200.

Tina - They are 3 to 4 different colors! I think you should just order them for yourself. You deserve it! ;)
Bev - I am not sure what night...but I believe it starts at 9:00 on deck! I have heard great things about it. It is the same night as Goofy's slumber party, which is all my daughter can talk about. I guess that will be a really late night.
