There's been a lot of threads going on about various Towncar services.

Being one of those people trying to decide who to use, i decided to start a poll.

I know pretty much every major company is liked by many people, so I'm trying to get an idea of the number of BAD experiences with the various companies...

So if you've used one of these Towncar Service recently (in the last year), and have had a bad experience (one that would make you question whether to use them again), note it here on this poll.
(this is my first attempt at a poll, so let's hope i do it right!).

Not sure how to edit the poll, it says only moderators can do that....?

if a moderator wants to add *********** to the poll, go for it.

thanks.

so 46% of the voters had a NEGATIVE experience with Tiffany?? I thought that company always got good reviews. To the voters who had bad experiences, would you care to share what some of them were?

This seems like it will be a valuable service. Thanks for thinking of it.

You probably should have put an "other" on the poll list... for those who used other companies. I haven't used any of the above companies yet.

A couple of thoughts to keep in mind with something like this that asks about bad experiences --

1) People are more likely to share their bad experiences than they are to share their good experiences. Maybe it's just a human need for people to vent and get it off their chests.

2) Larger companies in any industry or field will have more people with negative experiences than smaller companies, if only because the larger companies have more customers. Let's say company A has 100 customers a day and company B has 50, but company A has 10 unhappy customers and company B has 5. Same percentage, but company A has a higher overall number.

IMO, the best way everyone can help everyone else when posting about negative experiences is not to say "don't use xxxxx company, they're lousy," but post about what went wrong and what the company did to rectify the situation.

keep in mind, the number of responses noted... a large percentage isn't an indication of a big problem, when only 11 people have had a bad experience.

I'm not trying to single out any company as being bad, just trying to see in one concise location, a kind of summary of the different posts i've seen with regard to problems with town car companies.

just for a kind of benchmark reading for myself, and anyone else confused about the different companies.

We travel to WDW every year and for the past 2 years we used Tiffany TownCar. In 2002 they "lost" our reservation and we had to call from the airport and suddenly they found it. In 2003 we tried them again and our driver was very late due to car issues and upon our return was late due to car issues! This year we used FL Tours and they we wonderful!!

Could it be, too, that some people responding misread the question? At first I thought the question was related to good service, and if I hadn't slowed my eyes down just a bit, would have answered wrong.

BTW, Mears isn't on the list, either.

I almost did as CaseyJr said. I came really close to clicking Tiffany Town Car, which I think is the best Town Car Service. The subject is just "Town Car Poll?" So I assumed it was for best town car service and almost didn't read it. I really think you should change the title to read something like Worst Town Care Experience Poll! People tend not to read past the title sometimes.

The poll is next to worthless. You'd expect the larger companies to have more total complaints.

I'd be curious if there is a way to determine what percentage of total bookings a company books using their own drivers vs farming them out to independents. Many of the complaints seem to be when companies grow and have to use extras to fill in.

The complaints about the banned company started to grow when the owner and his partner had to use independent contractors to handle their growing business.

I also have never used the companys on your list. I have used Cartier Towncar and have been super happy with them. I needed an infant car seat last year and you wouldn't believe how many of the companies didn't have one. Cartier actually went out and bought one for our trip. My son was the first to use it. I think that says something about a company to go out of their way like that.
