Is it best to wait after new dates are release until lower fares appear? Do they release the cheaper fares last.

My advice is to book the lowest fare available right after the release dates - some flights can become unavailable right away.... that way you are guaranteed the itinerary you want. Then if there are still seats available on your flights & they lower the rates later on you can get an adjustment. I've had my flights "re-fared" twice since booking - the first time I saved $80 the second time another $40!
Good luck

How do you 're-fare'? Do you call Southwest?

I have a $240. credit from a fare I booked in May and rebooked in August. They are telling me since I had an original credit from October 2003, I must use this credit by October 2004. This doesnt seem real fair. I am calling customer service tomorrow to see what they can do for me.

While it does not seem very fair, those, unfortunately, are the rules. It pretty much tells you that when you cancel or rebook and get credit for your flights. Good luck and I hope they can do something for you. :)

Ok, so the best think to do is book as soon as the fares dates are available.
And it's possible that they offer better discounted fares as weeks go on. If I purchase the refundable tickets will they credit my credit card if I then rebook the lower fares? Or are the refunds issed in the form of Flyer credits to be used n Southwest?
