Has anyone tried either? If so, what has been your experience?
What should I bid for a compact for 4 days, 11/4 8am - 11/7 4pm? (I know the rates drop at noon on 11/4 since it's a Thursday, but I'm not planning on hanging around MCO for 4 hours....)
Thanks.

I've only ever Pricelined hotels. But if you go to www.biddingfortravel.com it is a VERY informative and helpful site for Priceline.
Good Luck

I would look on hotwire and various car rental web sites and see what kind of rates you can get and then under cut those with a Priceline bid. Sometimes you can do better booking directly with codes from [url]www.mousesavers.com. try that first.
I have used both Hotwire and Priceline and they only use the main rental agencies (Hertz, National, Alamo, Avis and Budget are all they use I think) Hertz has been coming up lately a lot for MCO and they are offsite. Personally I have never used them in Orlando before but no one seems to complain much...apparently the service is pretty quick even though off site. All the others are in the terminal.
If you cannot find decent rates on your own for your rental period you might want to try a bid around $13/day for a compact. (sounds cheap, but the taxes and fees add up) You may have to go up from there, but you have plenty of time to bid again if not successful. Often Priceline is the cheapest way to go with rentals of less than 1 week.
Good luck.

I get rental cars via Priceline all the time. I've had Alamo, Avis, National, Budget, and Hertz through them. I research the lowest possible rates that I can get with a code and then try to undercut them with Priceline. I'm successful about 70 percent of the time. When deciding what to bid, don't forget to figure in the fee.
