I just wanted to share that I was able to get 4 nights in a studio at Wilderness Villas for 8/10-8/14!! Couldn't believe our luck with such short notice. So it never hurts to ask!

About 3 weeks ago we tried to get a VWL studio for any long weekend in August (including 11-15), but there was no availability. So we're at OKW instead.

Congrats on hitting it just right! :)

It may be your luck or the economy? I understand that WDW is not as crowded as it usually is because of the economy.

When I initially called to see what was available at any of the DVC's at that time I was told just a 1 bedroom at OKW. I didn't want to spend the points for that so hung up and made a ressie at All Stars for $49 a night. We really wanted Wilderness Villas so on a whim I called DVC back and asked to be placed on a waiting list for a studio at WL and she told me to hold on for a moment. She returned and told me the pixie dust was sprinkling on me. I wondered if maybe they were opening up some cash held rooms because of the low occupancy rates I've been reading about. What ever the case, we are excited and really looking forward to having 4 nights there. I'm sure it will beat All Stars.

YES!! I agree--short notice ressies happen! Maybe it's not the most secure way to plan a trip but it works sometimes. DH and I went in May (right before Memorial Day) and called a week and half before we wanted to go and got our at the BWV and VB. So anyway...have a great trip!!! :D

We were able to get a studio at VWL in early June with 3 days notice.
