We are trying to fly from Birmingham, AL, to Orlando the day after Thanksgiving. I'm worried that we will not be able to get a low rate since this is around a big holiday.:( Has anyone had any luck finding a low airfare for this time of year?

Last year we flew from Indianapolis to Orlando on Continental (via Cleveland) the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Although it wasn't a direct flight and the entire travel time lasted 6 hours - it was worth it. Airfare was $99 + fees + tax. The fares ended up around $120/pp.

If you can't get the price you want the day after Tgiving, think about flying out on Tgiving Day! We have done this before (not flying to WDW but to see family) and had pretty good luck, in the a.m. especially it is not so crazy. The actual holiday is sometimes not considered a blackout day is is cheaper. Just a thought!

Watch those fares because sale fares for that time of year have already started to come out. I just bought tickets last weekend flying into Orlando the day after Thanksgiving for $110.74 per person roundtrip. That includes all taxes and fees and is on Delta. Neeless to say, I was thrilled! Keep watching and you may just find a great deal!

We just booked Albany,NY to Orlando on Southwest Airlines the day after Thanksgiving for $89.50 r/t. The fare was so good that we extended the trip we already had planned and will redeposit the Delta miles we were originally going to use. This is an internet only special. Keep looking and maybe you can find something in your area.

they do give me a ray of hope!;) I've been checking Delta and Southwest on a daily basis and I can't believe some of you already have airfares cheaper than what I'm being quoted and I'm only flying out of B'ham! Very happy for all of you though, and at least I now know that there is hope!:D Keep me updated if anyone sees great rates coming out for that timeframe.:)

Hi....we haven't seen any great rates for that time period coming out of St. Louis either. You may want to check Hotwire to get a handle on what might be available...Also, SW may come down more if they don't get a good response to the current promotion . Are you doing an Illuminations cruise again?? new house?? LOL ! Hope all is well.:smooth:

I'll keep my fingers crossed for both of us to get better airfare than what's being offered right now. I sent you an e-mail, let me know if you can join us for another cruise.;) Take care.

My sister just booked with Continental from Sacramento to Orlando on November 23 the day after Thanksgiving and she got a roundtrip rate of $241.00 per person. I think that is a great rate.
