Taking a short trip in December and am wondering whether anyone has ever packed a few bottles of water in their luggage? We are flying and I wonder if the plastic bottles could break in the luggage...?

Thanks!

I don't pack them, but I do take a couple of bottles in my carryon bag. I freeze them the night before, then put them in my thermal lunchbag and put them in my backpack. By the time we land in Orlando, they are barely thawed. Afterwards we zip over to Publix and buy a gallon of spring water to refill the bottles. Taking them on the plane has never been a problem and we have flown about 16 times after 9/11. As for putting them in my checked bag. I probably would not do that, only because it would flag security to have to search your bag, since it would detect some sort of liquid.

We only pack one water bottle for each person to drink before and during the flight. I'd never pack any water for the parks. We always do a grocery stop on the way to WDW and grab a case or two of bottled water. You also have to be careful about packing bottled water in your checked luggage--besides it breaking it could add a lot of weight which you could be charged for. Not worth it in my opinion.

Yes, I do usually carry a couple bottles in my "extra" suitcase. I take a 26" and and extra 21" case. I put heavy items like shoes, jackets, first aid items, water, munchies in this case.

JNever had a bottle break. I do put them in ziplocs, tho.

We always have connections so the baggage gets a lot of handling.
