I just got done making booking Devin (DS) and I for 2006 Eastern. (They actually booked us on a December 2005 cruise, which we will change as soon as the 2006 schedule comes out and we can agree on a date.)
By the way, they ARE still giving the re-booking discount, at the moment, but I have no idea how much longer it will last.
Last time I booked 5 months in advance and had a hard time waiting that long. Now I have to wait 23 months... I'll never make it!

Well, count me in. I just spoke with my DH, and while we haven't even done our August 2005, he's already set to book another one! So, add us to the list. Let me know more when you find out. Are we supposed to list what category we want, or is that for later?
Yikes, are we obsessed or what?

invaderzim,
I have a couple of friends in the office here that are also going on the 2-week eastbound Panama Canal cruise in August 2005 with their two sons. It looks like alot of fun. Too bad it's already booked solid! (I was also eyeballing the 7 day west coast cruises for next summer, but decided that I couldn't afford to spend that much on vacation EVERY year. Maybe I'll just stick to a trip down the coast to Disneyland next summer instead.)

How many people have already rebooked with the intention of moving the date to 06 once they open them up. I am considering doing that to take advantage of the 10% and $200 but hate to tie up more money on an 06 cruise when I still have to pay for the 05 repo cruise.

Count us in! :sunny:
I'd like to know what the current offer for us Aug. 28th cruisers is. If it's only the 10% and $200, then we'll wait to book. If it's 25% off the cruise, then it might be worth it to book now.
Maybe I should give DCL a call and see what they say....
*dialing DCL*......
Hmm...the CM I just spoke with put me on hold and when she came back she said they are not offering anything special at all for the Aug 28th cruisers, not even the 10% and $200 credit. Looks like we missed out anyway.
If someone else can call, maybe we can find a CM with better info. LOL

I just booked two hours ago and was told that I was getting the re-booking discount. (I have to admit that I didn't ask the actual pertage of the discount, but I did get one.) The CM I talked to had to put me on hold and confer with her supervisor and it was the supervisor that actually did the booking for me.

I spoke to an "Alice" yesterday and she said nothing was offered.
I spoke to an "Amber" today who spoke to a supervisor yesterday when someone else called about the same question and her supervisor said 25% off and something would come in the mail.
OK someone else call and see what you get or Terry try again for someone else and see what they say and ask them to a ask a supervisor.

Hello Everyone!
I just called DCL and booked the bogus 11/12/05. After being transferred to "special accounts" (or special something) I was able to get the 10% & $200 credit. I did explain to the regular DCL employee our situation and that I wanted to book an 2005 cruise and then change to 2006. She said there is an $85 change fee if a change is made after 30 days. Have any of you ever heard of that? She also said 2006 rates should be out by the end of the month! Stay tuned..............
Doreen - Glad to hear about you DMom's DH!

Looks like we will see each other soon & maybe meet some of the people we missed.
Colleen (tiggerwannabe), Alyssa & I went to the Jersey meet.
The food was great, Collen & Alyssa won some great prizes. A musical castle & a huge Disney pin. Verandah man was there & the Trivia guy was there with pins & his new book on Disney Trivia.
I should be done with my trip pictures by Sun & will post them then.

Joanna - I booked for 4 people.. but I might call back before monday and change it to 2 people so I only have to give a $500 deposit.
I mentioned it to Bob last night and although he would be interested in different ports... he wasnt as excited about going on DCL in 2006... he is thinking he may want to go to an all-inclusive or one of the RCCI Mega Ships again... plus the Ultra Voyager is supposed to go into service in 2006.

Ginny...Although I would love to see you again, I would have to agree with Bob, as after 10 days on the ship and 14 days nextt year, you also want to try a new line or all inclusive.
We are looking for 2005 a cruise out of NY of course on a different line, probably wouldn't book until springtime 2005 as other ships offer better prices the closer to the cruise date OR Aruba or another shore vacation.

Ginny, where did you find out about the ultra-Voyager being in service in 2006? I've been reading 2007, but maybe you have better or more accurate sources! :)

09-17-2004, 10:33 AM
Terry - I had heard 2006 when they originally announced the Ultra Voyager... my info may be outdated at this point.
Joanna - I am also leaning towards Bob's rationale... after next years cruise we will have been on 4 DCL cruises.. and while we have had a great time on each one.. maybe we should try something different. Plus the good thing is if we do decide to do DCL in 2006.. I can always rebook while on board the repo cruise next year and still get a fairly good price/cabin selection since the 2006 cruise would still be a year away.
Mary Rose - At this point I still dont have my pictures back... Dell has been no help so far and the several data recovery companies Bob has contacted have quoted him $500-$1000 to restore the data. All say they have a 90% recovery rate and wont charge if they dont get the files back. We need to decide what to do... I really want my pictures back.

Also we would miss you in 2006 but really I can see your point. I bet the repo cruise is going to be great. The insurance at Access America is only good for any out of pocket expenses you had because of the trip delay. Since DCL put us up for the night, except for dinner that night there were no expenses. But I don't have the receipt from dinner and it doesn't cover lost wages. This is from the rep at Access America.

Hi All,
Count me in again for August 2006, I already let Dreams Unlimited know that I want August 19th. I don't care if it is an Eastern or Western. While it was exciting to be on the August 28th cruise for ten days I figured I would go for the week earlier next time, just in case! Hopefully we will hear soon.
Have a great day.:D

I wonder how may others have decided on the 19th as well. As I said before, The 10 day cruise was a great adventure but just cut it too close to the start of school. This way if happens again (which is HIGHLY doubtful) I have a whole week and a half before school starts, no problems!
I also asked the TA about the price difference between the last week and the second to last week. She said while the last week is the lowest (that is why we have sailed three times the last week in August:hyper: ) The second to last week is really not that much more compared to say, the first week in August. SOOO the 19th it is.

The Saturdays in August are the 5th, 12th, 19th, and 26th. I'm hoping that the 19th will be an eastern itinerary. So who is going on the 19th no matter what?? Who is going on the eastern on either the 12th or 19th?? I'll have to talk to John some more about this, maybe we'd prefer the date (the 19th) rather than the itinerary.
I think what we'll do when the dates come out is try and book the same cabin we had the last time, knowing that it sleeps 4 people, and only book it for the 2 of us so we'd only have to put down $500 instead of $1000, then add the kids later. Craig will be 18 at the time so he won't count towards the total of teens, but we'd have to make sure that we booked in time to get Robby onboard, before they reach their quota for teens. (Did I explain that correctly?? LOL). I know that even a few months before this last cruise, there was no more room in any of the kid's clubs, so if you had kids of any age you couldn't book a cabin.
So now the decision will be..... Cruise on the 19th even if its the western itinerary again...Or cruise on the 12th or 26th if those are the easterns. We're doing another western caribbean itinerary on Voyager of the Seas next summer, but we'll only be repeating one of the ports we visited this year, Grand Cayman, so it won't be too much like our cruise this year.
Which way are all of you leaning??
winnyis
09-26-2004, 09:17 PM
I would go for the itinerary rather than the week. I have been on the western 3X now and I know Bob would not agree to another western cruise. I am really hoping that they will change the itinerary a bit and then he will want to do DCL again in 2006. I would love to see Aruba, Barbados or some other islands I have never been too.

I'm not sure what I would choose. I really like the Western Itinerary. Carol is interested in trying another cruise line also in 2005, so we are going to check out Celebrity, RCCL or Princess.
I probably would want to go Eastern if we do go in 2005, so then maybe the date would be better no matter what the itinerary. decisions, decisions.

OK guys..Sue Ellen posted the "special western itinerary for every 4th week of 2006 May 27th - Dec 9th. So assuming that my calculations are right.. the eastern cruises would be August 12th and August 26th and August 19th would be one of the "special western cruises with 2 days at castaway cay and cozumel and costa maya as the ports.
Supposedly - DCL is opening up bookings tomorrow. I personally dont care to go western again.... It would be great if they could come up with a modified eastern cruise too.

I've been checking Disney's own web site and some other Travel Agent sites and so far none of them are showing the 2006 rates or dates. I am guessing here, but I think the travel agents are probably making their group bookings with DCL this morning.
What date are you going to book? I've read a couple of different threads on the Cruise Boards and as of right now, no one is absolutely positive on the dates for the different itineraries.
Keep checking back though, hopefully something definite will show up today!

it looks like the schedule that DVCREG posted is the right one. Thats the one that Dreams Unlimited has loaded into their request quote system.
The eastern is Aug 5th
Western is August 12th
Special Western is August 19th
Western is August 26th
Eastern is Sep 2nd
I would probably go for the Eastern on the 5th.. or maybe (if I can convince Bob) the special western on the 19th.

Just got off the phone with DCL. Here are the rates I got for a Category 6 cabin:
August 5th (eastern): $2158. per person
August 12th (regular western): $2163.18 per person
August 19th (special western): $1699.78 per person
These rates are for 2 people in the cabin, and do not include insurance or transfers, but do include taxes and port fees.
The CM told me that she expects these rates to go UP tomorrow.

I think I need a self-help group or something. LOL We have a cruise booked for next June, and here I am sitting at my desk trying to think of ways to get John to agree to book a cruise for 2006 TODAY! LOL!!
John wants to put an addition on our house. I'd rather just do some remodel work and not do the addition. I'd rather book cruises for the next 10 years :teeth:
Doreen, $3800 for 4 of you in a Cat. 10 is excellent! I wonder if John would want to do a Cat. 10. I know that I wouldn't mind, we had a TINY closet of a cabin last year on the Nordic Empress. The inside cabins on DCL are a great improvement over that. But I think he's hooked on verandahs/balconies now. *sigh* Same thing happened with the Disney World resorts. We started out at a moderate resort, then stayed at the Grand Floridian, and now he won't consider staying at any resort unless it's a deluxe. He drives me nuts :(
So all, or most, of you are booking the August 19th, right?? I haven't given up hope yet!! :sunny: I keep trying to tell John that it can't hurt to just book the cruise now, we can always cancel it later if he/we change our minds. But he's on a bill-paying spree lately. Our friend, an accountant (who I work 1 day a week for), used to take care of our monthly bills. Well, we just took our bills back over to do ourselves, and we found out that she didn't do a great job of managing our finances. So now John is on a mission to pay off everything, as soon as possible. I agree with this, but I think (I know) we can do that AND book this cruise.
Ok, sorry for rambling on...I needed to vent. LOL

You can always cancel later. But today you will get the best deal on the price.
You got a great price still for the verandah room. I would love to have that. We at least got connecting rooms. Book the room next to us 5520. we can be neighbors again. And TERRY feel fre to vent all you want. I wanted to talk on here last night so bad,, my laptop is broken and I couldnt stay in the living room with all the noise and lights with the H/A. Much better today. I have to make up for lost time,LOL

when I called 5022 was available but I wont go in an adjoining room unless it adjoins to someone I know. It worked out great with my sister but I wouldnt want to do it with a stranger.
I didnt book.. I figured unless I could get one of those rooms - I will wait . Maybe Invadezim's TA can get us the 10%/$200 deal and change my mind.
Just think..if we were neighbors... how many times Daniel and Jaclyn would say "MOM - I FOUND GINNY"
lol

Well I hope I am one of the ones who got a SPH, DU e-mailed last night to make sure I was still interested in this itinerary, OF COURSE I am interested. Unfortunately I did not e-mail her back until a few minutes ago because I just read the email from last night. I had requested 5020 or 5520 so I hope she reserved it for me, oh well if not I am sure I can suffer through it, hehe.
Looks like a lot of AUg 28th people. It should be great.

I'm waiting to hear back from All Seasons, regarding the discount. Ginny was nice enough to give me her last name, so hopefully they will see that the discount is still available.
So, the August 19th cruise is actually a western itinerary.....I guess we'll need a new thread! (This one says "eastern" on it).
I have my credit card here waiting to be used for the deposit! I wish Sandra would call me back, so that I can OFFICIALLY say that we are booked! :)

Hello Friends!
It's all booked!! 8/19/06 Cabins 6610 and 6611. This time the kids are getting their own room!!!!! Here are my prices for those who are interested:
6610: $3440 - 10% = $3,095.56 plus $200 credit
6611 $2099.56
The price for all four of us in 6610 would have been about $5000. This way it's about $5200. $200 is way worth it to us!!
Shall I start the Reunion Cruise Thread!!!!!!!
