So, is anybody thinking about excursions yet? We will probably do Key West on our own. There are a few places we want to visit there. We have not decided on excursions for Cayman and Cozumel yet. CC - thinking about the banana boat ride, maybe parasailing for my DD.
Packing : I still need to snag one of those over-the-door hangers I keep hearing so much about. Still looking for those individual Brita water bottles too.

I already bought the magnetic paper for our door sign! http://www.wdwinfo.com/sites/family/lol.gif

We haven't thought about excursions. Last time we went we did excursions at every port. We did the catamaran races in Key West, String Ray City on the Grand Caymans (this is definitely a do again), a beach excursion in Cozomel where we did the banana boat ride and jet skiing, and then my son parasailed on CC. We had a blast doing them all. Now that we can book excursions 90 days out I need to start looking into those kinds of things.

We did our own thing two years ago on the Eastern. We want to do sting-ray city and banana boating. We made it to Castaway Cay last time but barely---it was so windy, it to the ship two hours to dock and all activities were canceled--bummer. Has anyone used Captain Marvins? We heard they were good.

We have cruised DCL twice. The first time, we did not make it to CC because of damage from hurricane Floyd. I know it was out of Disney's control, but nonetheless, very disappointing. The second time, we made it to CC and it was gorgeous! We are crossing our fingers we make it to CC this time. ::yes::

We have traveled twice and both times made it to CC with beautiful weather. The last time my DH was so bad he couldn't leave the cabin so hopefully this next time he can enjoy it. My sons favorite thing to do is the kayaking so the last time I spent several hours doing that. I hope we bring our CC luck with us this time as well.:sunny: :sunny:

Lets try this again! Who is going on the Western Magic 3/26/05. We just booked an excursion on Grand Cayman with Captain Bryans. Its a catamaran sailing to Stingray city. We booked it through www.grandcaymancruiseexcursions.com The website shows all of the ships that will be in port and what excursions they have to offer.
Check it out! They offer very good prices and low crowd levels. They have very nice on line chat help.

We are almost to the double digits. We are planning on paying the balance this week so it seems to be hitting me about how close we are. I don't know who else is flying in but rates just went up. I looked a couple of days ago and then today and what a difference. We are planning on staying at one of the All Star hotels the night before because my son wants to do Disney Quest. The last two times we went he only got about an hour each time. I am trying not to get too excited but now that I am actually down to paying for everything it is exciting. :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Well, we got through the holidays, so now we can REALLY start thinking about our cruise. How is everyone doing with excursions? I found it a lot easier to choose excursions for our Eastern in 2003, than the Western. We are doing Key West on our own. I did manage to book one of the beach excursions for Grand Cayman. I had heard Disney stopped booking beach excursions to GC for a while there, but it looks like they have started up again to include our dates. :Pinkbounc

We decided to do Key West and Cozumel on our own. For Grand Cayman we are doing Sting Ray City with Captain Byrons on their Catamaran. Sounds like it should be fun. Booked parasailing for DH and DS in the morning (I don't do heights) and the waverunner for myself and DS in the afternoon. I am looking forward to a bit of sun shine because it has been raining off and on, more on, for about a week and more is to come. :flower1:

Hi Everyone!

I posted last fall, but never got a response. We're sailing on the 3/26/05 Easter Western cruise and are SO excited!

It's me, dh, and our dd twins, who will be just days away from turning 10. It is going to be a surprise for them. We are hoping to tell them when they bring home honor roll report cards in February (which remains to be seen, eek!) If they don't make honor roll, we will have to come up with some other sort of incentive to reward them. Frankly, we are going anyway!

We are starting to think about excursions and don't really know what to do. I don't think my girls would have much interest in Key West; I think they will love the clubs -- they are very social. When we go on vacation to Smugglers Notch, they love being in the camps and meeting other kids. But I would love to hear more about your choices for excursions in the other ports.

It' so exciting to finally think, "We're going on a Disney cruise THIS year!" It's only a few weeks away. Speaking of which, can someone tell me how to get a countdown thingie?

Thanks!

Hey this is Kathy or kathyandtyler.

This thread is so quiet maybe the ship won't be too packed.

I've got my excursions booked and I'm now working on loosing the 10 pounds that I'll gain on the cruise. HAHA :rotfl2:

This is our first Disney cruise. We've cruised Princess and Royal Carribean in the past. We are both excited.

We plan to go to WDW for two days before the cruise and if I can talk my boss into it we may even go down 3 days early.

What are everyone else's plans??

PPFQP

HI Kathy --

Yes, I'm surprised the thread is so quiet as well! Good to hear from you.

We are not doing any Disney time before or after. It's our Spring Break from school, and the 7 days is all we can take. Have to be back for dd's piano recital on April 3rd.

We're getting so excited. Right now I am just bursting to tell our kids. I don't think I can stand it. They tried on their formal dresses last night (they think that we bought them for a Valentine's Day party, hee hee!) and I was just grinning from ear to ear. We are trying to hold off until Friday, when report cards come home.

I think it is so cool that you've managed to keep it a secret. Our schools have off good Friday and we're taking 2 extra days before to have some WDW time.

I hope the weather is good. I could use some sunshine!!!

It is a quiet thread....let's work on that. We have booked the dolphin encounter in Cozmel so far. We are thinking of just doing the beach in GC. Any thoughts or recommendations from you guys??? We are very excited!!! I'm planning on calling Shirley after Valentine's Day to get some Easter Baskets set up for DD11 and DS 71/2. Just keep thinking warm weather and calm seas so we can get to the ports!!! :wizard: Talk to you guys soon!! :flower:

02-02-2005, 09:48 PM
Has anyone used Shirley before? I was thinking of doing something for my son that has snacks, pop, and an underwater camera. Could she do that??

We have the dolphin encounter at Cozumel booked also at noon!!!!

We are also doing the sunset cruise in Key West and the Tour in Grand Cayman. I have seen on these boards that some of the beaches in GC aren't great since the hurricanes. You may want to double check that.

"See" you soon.

Kathy :cool1:

PPFQP
02-02-2005, 10:32 PM
We are also planning to call Shirley and have Easter baskets done. Actually, I am hoping my mom will cover it -- she usually does Easter baskets for the girls, and this will be a fun way for her to be involved in the cruise. Any other ideas for what to put in them? I really like the camera idea. Maybe a small amount of Easter candy -- must have some chocolate eggs and jelly beans, after all!

We are still undecided about excursions. I don't think we will do any in Key West; rather, we will just do something on our own. In Grand Cayman, we are interested in seeing the stingrays, but aren't sure whether the kids will want to actually get in the water with them. DH wanted to do the dolphin thing in Cozumel, but I think it's awfully expensive, although I know the girls would just love it. I think maybe we should wait until they are a little bit older, but I don't know. I thought that the Beach Break (not Disney) excursion looked good, the one that has a pool and a private beach. I think we should try to decide something soon, though!

We did get our Palo and spa reservations this week, though, since we got the REAS package. That was exciting!

E&BMom
02-02-2005, 11:03 PM
I have not used Shirley but everyone says only great things about her. I talked to her and she was very very sweet. She said call after Valentine's since it was busy. I think she can do whatever you ask or want her to do depending on your price limit. Just let her know your ideas .
I'm thinking my kids my be a little freaked by the stingray thing (me too!!). I've heard good things about it though. I'm trying to see if anyone has been to GC on a recent cruise so they can tell us how the beaches are. I guess we can keep checking the posts or ask closer to the date.
PPFQP that is very exciting you got your ressies already. We have to do the whole sign up thing.
Do you know what deck or room you guys are?? We are on deck 7 and I have to check to #. I can't remember. Well let's try and keep this going if we can!!!!! Talk to you soon. :flower:

We are in a Category 5 on Deck 7 but the cabin number hasn't been assigned yet. My only hope is to get a plexiglass verandah not a solid one. But that isn't that big of a deal to us.

We all have formalwear. DH has a tux. I have a dress that I wore to a formal party in December. It's a long navy blue dress with a beaded jacket -- I hope I won't be too warm in it since it's more of a wintery dress! Then I have a black dress with a jacket for the semi-formal night and/or Palo.

I got my girls formal dresses after the holidays -- they are so beautiful! They think that we bought them for a party ::::snicker:::: I'm such a sneaky mommy!

Hello all,

My DH today, finally, said that he is getting excited about the cruise. We are also on deck seven in room 7122. We were in the same room last time. I am going to try to make a door sign, but time is getting really tight with work and taking classes. I have started on losing the weight so I am waiting to buy clothes until the last minute. I think I will also try to do some sort of Easter Basket through Shirley with a cruise type theme though.

We are doing the catamaran to Sting Ray City. My son was 8 when he did it the first time. It took him awhile to get the courage to go in but he really enjoyed it once he was in. He did a report on sting rays at school and it was so much better than if he had just read about them in a book. Disney is educational. :teeth: In Key West and on Cozumel we are just doing our own thing. We also plan on doing Palos for brunch and dinner if possible.

We are flying in the day before and staying at the All Star Sports in WDW. The last two times we were at WDW my son didn't get enough time in Disney Quest at Down Town Disney so we promised him we would go and he could stay until the place closed. Hopefully the flight won't have any delays so that he doesn't get cheated out of time, again.

I have to say that, right now, I am *most* looking forward to telling the kids we are going, and seeing the looks on their faces. We had really good news today -- BOTH got honor roll (usually they take turns <g>) -- so we are having a celebration dinner tonight and the waiter will mysteriously hand them a special delivery. It's a postcard of the ship, with a message from Mickey inviting them to sail on March 26th! They will be speechless! LOL!

Since then, we have been talking nonstop about all the fun things we are going to do. We watched the promo video with them, showed them pictures of the ship and the stateroom, and showed them the schedule of ports. We've been talking to them about excursions and what they want to do.

Did you book the Disney dolphin excursion? Or do one on your own? Because the Disney excursion stipulates that it is not a "swim." What does that mean? Is it better to book something from another company?
My daughter really wants to do it, and dh thinks it would be fun. I am just not sure. I think we would have more fun just going to a beach somewhere.
Have you all been reading the comments about Grand Cayman and how it's in such bad shape? That has me concerned!

E&BMom
02-06-2005, 08:00 PM
We booked it through Disney. It is easier for me and less worrying about transfers. I guess it says that we just get in the water a little bit and interact with the Dolphins. We are thinking of just doing the beach thing in GC and we are still trying to figure out if 7 mile beach is ok. I think that is the beach a lot of people like. If you hear anything let me know and I will do the same. Let me know what you decide about the Dolphin thing. We are doing it early in the morning so we might, if there is time, got to the beach in Cozmel too. :flower:

Happy Monday Morning :rotfl:

We have the Dolphin Encounter booked through DCL at Cozumel. If I'm reading the description correctly we'll get beach time too. I think it will be cool. I have the Butterfly farm and Turtle farm tour booked at Grand Cayman but I'm really considering cancelling it and having a nice day on the ship without so many people around. I love to just relax on vacation :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

You all got me nervous about the dolphin excursion being booked. I called today and booked it -- we couldn't get in until 2pm! Oh well. We will try to switch it for an earlier time, and if not, it will still be okay.
Now, I just have to decide about Grand Cayman. The girls definitely want to see the stingrays. Are you all booking through Disney, or an outside vendor? I've heard about Capt. Marvins and another one -- maybe Capt. Bryan's? Anyone have any experience or recommendations?

PPFQP...I don't know about the stingray stuff. I have seen threads about both but can't say for sure. Kathy and Tyler we have been to both...CM for dinner and CP for breakfast. I thought they were both great. CM had Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Chip and Dale, and Daisy ( I think that is it) and CP has Pooh and friends. Do you like one of characters more than the other? Like I said they were both pretty good for buffet. Good luck!!!! :flower:

PPFQB,
We booked our stingray city trip through Captain Bryans. We picked that one because it was at 10:30, so no rushing to get off the ship and time after to shop a little before getting back on the ship. It is called the Bucaneer catamaran. They told me they only take about 40 people and it has a bathroom on it. It last 3 hours and has 3 stops(I think). We have read good reviews on it, but I cannot say first hand. Let us know what youe decide! :teeth:

We are also on Captain Byron's for Sting Ray City. We went with DCL the last time and it really wasn't long enough so I am hoping for more time in the water this way. The three stops also sounds rather inviting.

Hey everybody,

Does anyone know if we are allowed to bring Easter candy onboard? I'm talking about unopened commercially packaged treats to put in an Easter basket. I know we can order baskets, but I want to bring a small basket and fill it with dd's favorites. I also thought of making a basket for our room steward.

Is anyone going to bring plastic eggs to hide in their stateroom for Easter? Yeah, yeah, I know my daughter is 16, but old habits die hard. :rotfl:

Eggs for the stateroom----GOOD IDEA !!!!! We could bring a few and hide them on Sat night. The kids will be so tired by then, we could probably put them under their pillows. :rotfl:

Do you think the stateroom hosts would be allowed to accept something like that? Are their rules for that? I bet they might like somethings that they couldn't get on the ship----hhmmmm.

Anyone else have any good ideas?

We got our package on Friday afternoon. I think it came UPS -- I was surprised because it seemed like others were getting their delivery by USPS. It's so exciting to be "official"!

We also booked a sting ray excursion with Capt. Bryan's. We couldn't decide between Disney/Capt. Marvin's or Capt Bryan's, but the timing seemed the best with this particular option.

I have also been busy shopping -- ordered new swimsuits for the kids, and new water shoes for everyone in the family! Oh, and I picked up a new suitcase yesterday at Tuesday Morning - a HUGE rolling one that was only $30! It is big enough that we could pack one of the kids in it to save on airfare -- only kidding!!! Woo hooo! Do you know what today is?? Do you know what we will be doing in exactly four weeks?? Can you believe it is getting so close?

I am getting a little obsessive. I've been accumulating things that will need to go with us in a box in the dining room. I've got sunscreen, seasickness medicine, Airborne and sanitizing wipes so far. And we all got new water shoes.

Yesterday I started rethinking our transportation from the airport, and next thing I know, dh has cancelled our Disney transfers and booked a town car. Eeeek! I thought we were just thinking about our options -- not making a decision. I am still not sure that is the way to go, but in a way it will be more convenient. I think you need towels -- do you think we can take some from the ship? I know they hand them out for Castaway Cay and have them at the pool. Otherwise, we might buy some Disney ones as souveniers -- we use a ton with swim team.

I would think this is a good time to get in touch with Shirley -- after all, it's only 26 days away!

BaileyEvanH

Hi everyone,
I think you will need towels and "yes" they let you take them off the ship. Last time, I would get some by the pool and pre-pack them in my bag, but they also have used to have them in a big bin as you are getting off the ship.
We will be taking a bag with us and I plan to leave it on the boat while we are in the water. We will keep our money with us in a waterproof thing around our necks and we will bring an underwater camera. So, there won't be much in the bag to take anyway.
Does anyone know if you need or are allowed to use water shoes with the stingrays? I thought I read somewhere that you had to be barefoot?
We are going to be having a cold snap in Fl during the first part of March. You know what they say---If March goes in like a lion--it will go out like a lamb! We can only hope! They end of March will be here soon!

I thought I'd found one on Ebay, but when I bought it, it was lost in shipping and they don't have any more like it. They offered another one, but I don't really like it. I'm going to see if dh likes it. His birthday is right before the cruise, so it was to be his birthday present, and now I'll have to ruin the surprise -- ah well! If anyone has any ideas on where to find such a thing, puhlease let me know!

I have been warning the girls nonstop about washing their hands -ack! I don't want them getting sick!

I'm sorry it has been a while since I've checked in. I'm a CPA and this is my crazy time of the year especially since I'll be out of the office for 10 days.

Has anyone talked to Shirley yet?

I'm with you PPFQP about staying healthy. Anytime I hear anyone cough, I point my son in the other direction.

I hope the weather warms up in FLorida before we go.

"Talk" to you soon.

My mom is ordering baskets for my kids, and she has been in touch with Shirley. She said she is just the nicest woman ever.

We've been having the weirdest weather -- yesterday in the 70's and gorgeous. Today everything under the sun -- rain, sleet, snow, hail, thunder, and now the sky is totally clear and it's freezing cold. Bizarre! I am soooo ready for springlike weather, and only the thought of tropical sunshine in less than three weeks is keeping me going!

We are having crazy weather too. It was 67 degrees on Monday and then down to 15 last night. I can't wait for Spring or our trip whicher comes first.

My DS is 10 and I was thinking of having Shirley do a basket that has pop, beach towel, underwater camera, water bottle, and other snacks for him. Any other suggestions??

Thanks guys. Have a great day.

littlemuffin ..I think for sure Shirley can do that. I called her today and set up the "baskets". She is going to do sand pails with juice and water, movie theater candy(their favorite kind) and some other stuff and make it kind of eastery. She is soooo nice. Give her a call and just let her know what you want in it. The weather is weird here too...70 on Sat and maybe some snow tonight??? :confused3 Let us know what you do for his basket. How many more days?? I hope he enjoys it.

We have been signed up for this cruise for almost a year now and only yesterday, did we think of looking for "discussion boards" about Disney Cruises. We have been reading all of these posts about side trips and what to bring, do, wear, etc... Thanks to everyone for all the information!

In our family we have DH (46), DW (41), DD (8) and DD (almost 4). We're so excited to experience a Disney Cruise. My wife and I were on a Carnival Cruise almost 20 years ago (without kids) and can't wait to bring our daughters on "The Magic".

I believe we are on deck 6 and have 2nd dining (boo).

I discovered the DIS boards about a month ago, and I have been reading and researching for our trip in 8 days!!!!!!! :jumping1:

Anyways, it is me (38) DH (39 :rotfl2: ) DD (8) and DD(4). We or I should say I booked this trip about a year ago when we found out the school schedule. I can't beleive the time is almost here. :cool2:

This is what we have planned so far, nothing, YIKES! I plan on enjoying the ship, some beaches, the scenery. I hope to book a trip to Sting Ray City. I hope that is not tooo late. I also need to call for the easter baskets! I will hopefully do these two things today. If it is too later for the baskets I will bring a nice gift bag, and fill it with some things from the ship's gift shop.

I have all the clothes piled up in our closet! I went ahead and bought the girls new summer clothes. They outgrew theirs from last year! I got myself some new clothes too! We got some new sandals too. I will start packing things this week. I've been throwing things in my closet such as sunscreen, ect.

For formal night I did order DH his tux. I bought myself a new dress. DD(4) is wearing a sleeping beauty costume dress. I am redoing the skirt because the tulle on it is torn. It looks sooo darn cute on her! My dress is pink too, so we match! DD (8) is going to wear her first communion dress that she wore last year. She is so excited she gets to wear it again! So am I!

That is about it. Hopefully we will meet some of you.

When I read your post it sounded like me talking!!!! I tried to book our excursions this week ( one of them was stingray city observatory and island tour) and they were all booked. 03-18-2005, 10:31 AM
Did you try to book with Disney, or with an outside source? In Grand Cayman, there are several outfits that do the stingray tours. Captain Bryan's and Captain Marvin's have been recommended by this board, and I think there is one other that is mentioned in the Passporter book. In Cozumel, you can also go to several beach parks on your own. So don't worry too much about arranging excursions -- there are plenty of alternatives. Plus, I think they probably only pre-book a certain number of slots before the cruise, and then open up some more slots as it gets closer. Of course, I am just guessing about that, I don't know for sure.

BTW: Key West forecast for Sunday, March 27th is .... 78 and mostly sunny! YaY!

[QUOTE=PPFQP]Hi My 2 Princesses! Welcome! : ) Where are you guys from? Are your kids excited?

We are from the windy City! Yes, the kdis are very very excited! My DD (8) teacher voted her trip to be the most exciting one. We think so too :rotfl2:

I have about 30 min. before my day is too busy to do anything. so I will try and contact Capt. Marvins. My older DD said she doesn't want to go on the sting ray trip, but I would like for them to get the experience. This is coming from a kid who went on the Tower of Terror, but was afraid of going in the Haunted Mansion :rotfl2: I know, too weird and funny!

I better call the basket lady too before it's too late! One of my reasons of not booking anything yet, is because I don't want to be tied to a schedule.

My DH keeps saying one week from right now I will be doing..... After two previous DC, it seems this is the one he is the most excited about. I have been thinking about the meet but am not sure of the best time. I would think if we tried to meet, at least briefly, before the life boat drill that might be a good idea. After is the big sail away party and my DS is planning on looking for the sea animals as we leave. Is everyone planning on getting to the ship fairly early? I just read about the Home Depot lime green mickey paint samples and am planning on picking up a couple this weekend. I think I will try to some how attach it to my backpack that I use as a purse. I've heard of the Home Depot Disney paints, but not lime green. Our bathroom is done in lime green, our small one downstairs. Looks really nice!

Anyways, I called the 1-800 number to order the basket, the flyer we got in the mail last wweek. That is not the one that "Shirley" does. Who is Shirley and how do I get a hold of her? :scratchin

We are flying in the night before. We waited a little too alte to book our flights, but that is okay, at least we don't have to get up early and rush around all day to get the boat. We plan on getting to the boat for check in at around 11. Is that a good time?

Oh, and I did call to order a fruit and cheese platter for our room when we arrive and a bottle of red wine. So when we get there we will have something waiting for us to eat and drink :drinking1 I plan on getting the girls some juice boxes. They told me it comes with a greeting card. Hi everyone!
The Florida weather is looking good! Lots of sun and Jacksonville is in the mid-70's. We vote for earlier--before the lifeboat drill. Will everyone be on the ship by then? If you have early seating dinner--there is really not much time between the sail-away party and dinner. What about 2:45 or 3:00. I think lunch and the ressie rush are over by then and people will be exploring the ship. Anyone have a good spot to meet?

Hi guys,

Thanks so much for the movies and the list of whos who. I'll try to get to home depot. If not just look for me, (short hillbilly) and my DS10 whos about 3 inches taller than me wondering around with huge smiles on our faces!!

A funny side note. My DS10 saw something on TV this weekend while he was at his Dad's that mentioned that 100 sharks had appeared on the Florida coastline. It really freaked him out. He wants me to cancel the Dolphin Discovery Excursion in Cozumel. He has no interest in getting in the ocean with sea animals. So I guess I'll cancel it. If anyone is interested in trying to rebook our excursion time (12:00) , I'll post when I cancel. Just let me know that you want to try to get the spot.

"Talk" to you soon.

Oh no! I saw that too. We were right near that part of Florida in February! They said that it is a normal seasonal migration.

We are definitely interested in an earlier excursion time, so let us know when you call to cancel. I think ours is 2:00 right now, we'd love 12:00.

Sounds good! Is the Goofy pool where the ice cream place is?!?! I am going to try to get some green things and pin it on my bag. Otherwise, you can recognize us by the ridiculous matching t-shirts we'll be wearing! I bought iron on transfers and blue t-shirts and am going to make them this week.

Here is a link which is a replay of the Today show's clip of the sharks at Delray beach..seems like they are getting ready to migrate north, but the beaches were closed. Sounds like this is a normal event, but due to the clear water, they could be seen in mass.

Looking forward to meeting you all..can't wait for the cruise..it it going to be so much fun..going to get my green micky today

So is it official?

We meet between 2:45 and 3:00 on Sat. at the goofy pool. I know my two will be in the pool if I let them. Sounds fun! Wear your green mickey heads if you have them--if not, just look for the large group near the goofy pool!
See you then!

The meet up time sounds good to us. :flower3:

We went out shopping today to buy a few new pieces of luggage. We got a big one, mainly for me, and shoes and the dresses. Then I got a smaller one, for shampoos, and things we need the night before we leave. Also a beach bag, that came with nice compartments. Also we got this clear platic thingie that goes around your neck, that holds airline tickets ect. I thought this will be good to keep any important papers we need in and I can stick it in the beachbag, when we leave the boat or whatever.

So we are just about set. Just need to start packing and still find some shoes to match my dress! Why can't they sell matching shoes with dresses. I have been to about 5 stores already!

Less than a week now! :jumping1:

Thanks for the welcome and all the great info. This is our third cruise, first 7 day. We are coming from Red Bank, NJ. My husband, son, and I just went on a major shopping spree today and still I'm not ready! Are there 2 formal nights? Do people plan to dress resort casual most of the time. I always overpack. My husband is watching my shoes pile up and I think he's a bit freaked! He is bringing his tuxedo or his white dinner jacket I think. I just want to make sure I bring the right things.

Welcome! I'm glad you joined us!

Speaking of the lime green Mickey heads -- what is the exact color of the paint? There were two that were kind of lime green, so I grabbed them both. One was Alien Green and one was Sonic Boom.

Welcome new comers. I finally got out the suitcases and put two things in. We will only dress fomally for the actual formal night and then when DH and I go to Palos. Formal for us is coat and tie for DH and DS and I did by a new dress, though not floor length. The rest of the nights we are resort casual. The meet time sounds good to us. We are getting transportation from WDW and was told we would be leaving somewhere between 11:00 and 11:30 so we should be in the terminal by 12:30, hopefully. :scratchin

Only three days of work! :jumping1:

My 2 Princesses Boat
03-21-2005, 09:04 AM
I started packing last night! I told both of the girls NOT to go in my closet, and NOT to unpack and repack their bags! My younger DD wanted to pack her own and if she did this all she will bring is ballet tutu's and her princess pajamas! princess:

I got our day bag going, so far swim suits are in there! DH is driving me nuts because he can't understand why we need a day bag, and I told him at least a million times that we won't see our bags till later in the day! He keeps asking questions of things and I am ready to throw the Disney Cruise book at him and make him read it!

Last night I had a nightmare that I forgot DH's birth certificate! He wasn't with us when we went to the boat which was odd in my dream. But anyways, I had to leave the 2 girls on the boat while I ran home to get the Birth Certificate, and DH was home doing some work, and I was yelling at him to hurry up or we will miss the boat. We then found it at 5:05, but luckily the boat waited for us! What a crazy dream! So guess what I packed this morning, :rotfl:

Oh and we will also be wearing matching outfits. Glad to know we won't be the only family! I ordered those Mickey Tiki dresses on Disney.com. I got DH the shirt. I need to buy another pair of shoes, LOL! :cheer2:

I always have the dream where I forget something! Then I usually do forget something! I still manage to overpack no matter what. My husband is afraid I'm going to sink the boat if i don't edit down. Yesterday, I spent hours looking for the perfect go with everything black heeled sandals. Still no luck, so my dream involved going barefoot to dinner!

We haven't packed our undergarments yet...hope I don't forget those!!!! can't wait!!!! See everyone soon!! :cheer2:

I can't believe it's THE WEEK! I just keep thinking... next week at this time we will be ________. Very exciting.

It's going to be a busy week! So much to do. The girls wanted to know if I would pick them up early from school on Friday so they could pack, LOL! I wish we did have Friday off from school. Maybe I will pick them up early just for fun (we'll probably already be packed LOL!) I'm sure they are not doing much that afternoon anyway; probably a lot of people will have already left for spring break.

Hi,
I'm staying home today to pack. My head is so full of things not to forget! I run around like a crazy person starting one thing and then going to the next before I finish the first. My house looks like it exploded. I have clothes laying everywhere. I dread packing the tolietries. I take a little of this and that for the "what if this happens" its enough to drive you crazy!
I put on the new Disneymania CD to put me in the mood. It won't be long now! The countdown is ticking away!
Oh the mickey heads are alien green I think--it doesn't really matter. The non-dissers will look at you funny no matter what shade of green you have on--they just can't figure out why you are wearing a paint chip!-ha ha

No problem -- I'm glad he's going to try it! I think that we will be able to change it once we get there, and if not, it's no big deal. Since we have late seating we won't be rushed getting back.

Gosh, I hope he can get something for his sinus infection! Our pediatricians are really good about things like that, but I can understand how people take advantage of the situation and overdo the antibiotics. Not good. I hope he is feeling fine quickly, though!

My dd wouldn't eat dinner last night; she said her stomach was bothering her. Ack! She seemed better today though. I gave her 1/2 of an Airborne tablet. We're all going to start on it in a couple of days. :umbrella: Germs, germs, stay away!

I hope everyone is well before they leave. I just hope we don't get cursed with anything! My girls do have friday off. I discovered this last month. OUr flight leaves late friday night, we don't get in Orlando till 11:00 pm. and we are staying near Port Canaveral so we won't get in our room till 12:30 a.m. at least! We tried to get an earlier flight but they were all booked :sad1:

I did pack the birth certificates :goodvibes If we forget anything else we can buy it. I too hate packing the toiletreas. Be sure to pack sunscreeen in a zip lock bag, they will open up during flight, happened to me one time.

I am going to e-mail about the Sting ray excersion with Capt. Marvins'. :Pinkbounc I am doing the 8:30 time, it is a 2 hour tour, is that long enough? :confused3 I hope so. I don't want to spend the whole time getting there and back, know what I mean. If anyone has done this can you give me a little more info.

We have the late seating for dinner, we are on deck 7. I think our cabin is 7536. My husband booked one excursion. Stingray City at 7:30am. We've been to Grand Cayman before, but I was too afraid to swim with the rays. I will be on the boat this time too taking pictures for everyone else! :)

They are not hats...if you go to Home Depot and go to the paint section, there is a brand of Disney paints..instead of little squares they have mickey mouse ears as sample colors you can take with you, they are free...I'll pick up a couple extra and if i meet you at the DIS get-together on ship and you cannot find one..I'll give you one

I just got done booking the sting ray city 2 hour tour with Capt. Marvin for the morning of Tues. :cool1:

I think it will be long enough, especially if the kids really don't enjoy it. But I think they will :goodvibes

My 8 yr old DD said she doesn't want to go because it sounds scary. This is coming from a child who went on the Tower of Terror but then was afraid to go on the Haunted Mansion :rotfl: She did pet a sting ray in Vegas last year, so she knows what they are and knows about them.

The trip has 2 stops, one to see the sting rays and one to see coral reefs. Then we can be back on the boat by noon to rest for the afternoon. I plan on ordering sandwiches from room service to take with us. So this will be fun, I am glad we did this. We were thinking of doing the glass bottom boats, but they don't have good reviews.

I have spent most of the morning trying to make a door sign for our door. Next task: making t-shirts! I keep trying to weasel out of it, but the kids really want to have matching shirts! Ugh! It's just so goofy. When we went to WDW a few years ago, my mom made two sets of shirts for everyone, and the girls just thought it was great (we had a big group that time, cousins, grandparents, aunts and uncles, etc.) Our shirts attracted a lot of attention and the girls thought it was cool. I am interested in working out also -- I have good intentions, but we'll see how well I follow through! I usually go to the gym 3 or 4 times a week, and also do yoga. I would love to try one of the yoga classes on the ship.

Don't be fooled -- despite my good habits, I still have plenty to lose! I'm a work in progress!

Do you know much about the fitness center on the boat? It seems kind of limited. I would probably only do the treadmill or elliptical machine, and maybe weights, depending on the equipment.

I called Shirley today at the Perfect Gift and I wasn't too late to order baskets for my DD and my neice (15) and twin nephews (13) - she is going to do Easter themed baskets.

Many thanks for the movie post - my daughter is looking forward to The Pacifier and Ice Princess too!
