I'm planning a trip with 14 people. I wanted to make a few PS reservation and I was wondering if I needed to use Group Dining. Also, what are people's experiences with Group Dining and/or seating issues with that many people at Disney restaurants?
Thanks!!

I will also have a group between 10 & 12 over XMAS and called Disney Dining the other day to ask if I would need to use Group Dining. They told me that it varies by restaurant - that groups of more than 8, 10, or 12 will need to go through Group Dining depending on the specific restaurant. They said I could start with the regular #, and if necessary they would transfer me to Group Dining.
Based on this, I'd say that your group of 14 would need to go through Group Dining, but you know how Disney is about giving different answers each time you ask the same question. :)

I just finished making all of our group of 16's PS. I called both group dining and the regular number. I think it depends on who you talk to at the regular dining number. Sometimes they'll book it for parties larger than 8, other times they transfer you to group dining. Personally, we did not want to sit all 16 together at a table. We thought 2 tables of 8 would be better so everyone could still have a conversation with one another. I guess that's a good thing because we were never even offered the option to sit together. Out of the 8 PS I made for the whole group to eat together, 4 of them are at 2 tables for 8, 1 is at 4 tables for 4, 1 is at 2 tables for 6 and a table for 4, and 1 is at 3 tables for 5 and 1 table for 2, and 1 is for 3 tables of 6. None of these tables are guaranteed to be together.
