To rent a car or not...

We are going to DL in May 2005 for 4 days before our 7 day West Coast Magic cruise, should we rent a car or get transfers to and from? We will need to get from LAX to DL, DL to port, and then port to LAX. A rental car will cost $181 plus $77 to park at the port for 7 night cruise. What do you think? What are our options?

I'll be on a West Coast Cruise in August and called this morning to find out about transfers because I'd like to stay a few days at GCH in DL before our cruise. The cost of the transfer is $49/pp and it will take you from the airport to DL from DL to the port and then reverse. So it really depends on how many people are in your party. We'd probably spend $200+ for a rental car for the time, but we are still considering what we should do.

only1mouse....did you call Disney for the price of $49pp for transfers? did you have to have your cruise booked through Disney?

I called DCL directly for the price yesterday (9/11). I didn't actaully book the transfers yet and they didn't say anything about having to have the cruise booked directly through DCL (but then again, I didn't think to ask)
