Does anyone know how the transportation is to and from parks from here. Also, I saw you could rent water mice here and wondered where you boat at. Any info on resort would help. I plan on staying there in November, the 25th thru December 2. I have a 2 bedroom villa reserved.

We have always found the WDW transportation to be adequate- even if we have driven our own vehicle. We just think of the buses as another attraction and plan our transport needs based on the bus schedule. Ask any driver for an approximate schedule to help with planning. Others feel more comfortable with personal transportation- parking is right at your building.
Boats may be rented right at the OKW marina- pontoon boats, surrey boats and pedal boats. They may used on the canal waterways all the way to DD.
Have a great stay. That is a nice time to be at OKW.

The transportation at OKW is really not good. I use my car most of the time. There are no water mice at OKW. They are not allowed down the canal where OKW is located. As for everything else at OKW it is better than most other places at WDW. The two bedroom villa is excellent. You should really enjoy it. No matter where you are staying at OKW you are only a short walk to one of the pools. Olivia's, the restaurant at OKW, is on the rebound with major improvements regarding the food and presentation of the food. You will enjoy yourself.

Buses at OKW may take awhile during a busy time, they have to circle a long path before they are on their way to your destination.
However, thats not abnormal at Disney. We use the busses for most. We only use the boat to DD,PI if we have time to waste. We have waited for over an hour for a boat, but again it is enjoyable. We always rent a car, use it for DD, PI, or food shopping off property.
Your going at a great time enjoy!

Thanks all for the replies. I see 2 different answers on the water mice, does anyone know for sure if they rent them now or not. Thanks again all of you!

Tim27 is correct about no water mice. There are pontoons, surrey boats and pedal boats, but the water mice are available at the DD marina.
The OKW transportation is subject to personal opinion. It works well for us- others have a different expectation and opinion.
Enjoy!

I agree with Doc, buses are not a problem for us. It helps us relax when returning from the parks and is a good way to get going in the morning. We like to tour early in the day, so t he buses are great in the morning.

We've been back from OKW for about a week. No water mice - you can rent those at the Grand Floridian, we did and thought it was worth the $$ and SO much fun. We used the bus system some, never waited more than 10 minutes on a bus and while we waited for MK noticed that busses for AK and MGMcome around, had we been going to these parks the wait would have been shorter.

We felt the buses ran pretty smooth during our June stay.
We only had two without lifts which is the best we have ever done.
Of course they were both in the morning on our first and second day so a little disapointing on the first days in the park!
Other than that we had little to no wait!

We put the OKW transportation to the "acid test" by staying over Easter week. We took the buses to every park at a variety of times of the day and night. Overall, we were very happy with the availability and frequency of buses. We seldom had to wait more than 5 or 10 minutes. Maybe we were just lucky, but we continued to be lucky for the whole week! The only time when the buses took forever was when we were trying to return to OKW from DD. We waited and waited and waited. Then the ride took a super long time because there were so many stops. (Normally we took the boat back and forth between OKW and DD, but we had missed the last boat back for the evening.)
We also had a rental car to use, but loved being able to take the buses and let someone else do the driving!
Have a wonderful time at OKW! We loved it there. :)
