Though it is much more convenient for me to fly from Newark to MCO while visiting DIsney, it is much cheaper to fly fro LaGuardia to Tampa. Am I making a mistake in trying to save the extra dollars?

There are four of us traveling at a cost of about $130 r/t to Tampa or $230 r/t to MCO.

Thanks for your help!

Depending on the traffic and construction, it can take 1.5 to 2 hours. We have done this before when flying into MCO is a lot more than TPA.

It all depends on when you are going I have gotten fares to MCO from LGA for 130 or less and that was on American you should also watch for Jet Blue they run sales also. I have also driven from TPA to Disney and it can take up to 2hrs with not stopping and there is no traffic.

I must drive REALLY fast - I drove from TPA to MK 2 years ago on a weekday at lunch time in just over an hour. I'm flying into TPA again this year - it was cheaper then MCO - we're coming in late so I'm hoping for little to no traffic!

We drove from Bradenton, Fl which is outside Tampa. It's actually further. We did it in just under 2 hours last December. We would have made it sooner but all of the construction by WDW was the bad part. i don't think you will have that much trouble. Good luck and drive safely.

TPA to the WDW Swan is 72 miles. MCO to the WDW Swan is 22 miles via the Greeneway.

We have flown into tampa the last 4 trips we have taken. We can never get FFlyer seats into MCO. Anyway it takes us about 1 hour & 10-15 minutes. We actually enjoy it (minus the construction!) it is kindof a relaxing break after hurrying through the airports and getting that rental car it just seems like the whole day is just go, go, go. This drive sort of unwinds us and gets us excited at the same time as we are IN florida! Plus it's not like MCO is right at disney anyway. There is a little travel time involved there too. I know not nearly as much but a little.

I would allow extra time since I-4 is under construction. Work goes on 24 hrs a day. with rolling roadblocks sometimes.
