I made it thru with no damage to my house. Lots of trees fell down and my bushes out front are quite leafless but otherwise we made it thru.

I know there are others that are not so lucky however. I remember living thru Andrew. I felt the exact same way. A cross between shell shocked and greatful. Shell shocked because the stress of waiting for it to be over. Greatful because so many others have lost everything. So many times I think how lucky I am that I live in Florida. Lots of sun and close to the parks. Then there are the times that this happens. I guess we take the good with the bad. I have power and phone. However, my DSL line is still on the fritz. I am at my in-laws house now.

I will continue to pray for those that are going thru this. I live about 60 miles south of where the eye went on shore. I have lived in Florida all my life. I don't think I will ever get used to hurricane season.

I have a trip planned to the Orlando area later this month. Call me crazy but I am kind of feeling guilty about going. So many others have a lot of awful things to go thru. Not sure if I am making myself clear or not. Just needed a place to let it out. DH doesn't really understand. He thinks I am being silly. I know that you guys here understand.

Thanks for letting me get it out!!

I'm glad you're safe Michelle. Don't feel guilty about going on vacation. You probably need a good break from the stress and you will be providing work for the Orlando folks. The last thing they need is no money coming in.

:D Don't feel guilty,After ythe flood of 94 we lost our house and everything else,we rented a car and where did we go?? Walt Disney World....It may not have been the smartest thing i did but it was a great stress releaver!!!!!!And it helped us recharge our batterys so we could start rebuilding our house and lives.
