I was at wdw right in between Charley and frances- I was amazed at how little damage I saw. Either they cleaned up quick or not much happened.
either way- amazing

I'm glad to hear that WDW is OK, but I find this interesting. I was there for Hurricane Charley and we went to the parks the next day, Saturday. We went to Epcot in the afternoon and MK at night. Yes, we didn't see much damage, but I got to talking to a wonderful CM late at night while my kids were riding the last Space Mountain ride (they always do this) and she said that Disney suffered great damage, but they never want people to know. They had crews all night and a lot of people had to report very early the next morning, 5am. There were a lot of trees down that I could see. I'm happy that they didn't suffer much damage, but I suspect it was more than they wanted the world to know. After all it is fantasy land and there are no hurricanes there.

I just returned from WDW (Sept. 12th-18th) and we went over to Fort Wilderness for a walk, and found it totally empty. A "Special" bus going through picking up Hoop-dee-doo goers picked us up on the way back to the lake. I chatted with her afterwards and she said that FW has been closed since Charley hit because of damage and guest safety concerns. She also said that it wouldn't be open for at least another 1-2 weeks. This means that FW will have been closed for 4-5 weeks due to the hurricanes.
