In their Lion King Parody, when Lisa is talking to Bleeding Gums Murphy in the clouds, and the other heads show up and say "Luke, I am Your Father", "This Is CNN", and "You must avenge my death, Kimba, uh I mean Simba!"

I didn't get the joke until I saw that page myself a few months ago :earsboy:

This has been going around for 10 years now... possibly longer if you count the buzz before the Lion King was released. Disney flatly denies it (no surprise).

I used to watch Kimba on TV when I was a kid. The Lion King is a blatant rip off of it.

We are just now reading about a new lawsuit over the rights to a song - Lion sleeps tonite - that was used in LK. Why wasn't there a lawsuit ( or was there ? ) when the movie came out by the creators of Kimba ?

I remember watching Kimba the White Lion when I was a kid and a couple years ago I actually watched most of LK and I never saw a connection to the two until I read about it here. Actually, I'd forgotten all about Kimba & LK didn't rekindle any memories about it. I do see some similarity now that it's been pointed out to me.
