We are visiting from the 28th April - 12th May (9 days at Newport Beach and 5 days at San Diego), first time in California (from the UK), just hoping Disneyland won't be too mad around the 5th May as we go to San Diego on the 7th so need to visit before then but don't want to miss any rides that might open on the 5th!!

I dont mean to be the bearer of bad news but while everything is planned to be open May 5th It will (by all accounts) be a madhouse esp with DL closed on the 4th. If its like the kickoff for WDW's 100 Years Celebration itll be lots of people basically doing nothing making it hard to get around and when the press events end then lots of people riding etc.

I dont think the park will be at capacity but itll be crowded

I've heard recently that DL will *not* be closed on May 4th. It will be open as a press event.

Whatever you do, get your PH ticket and line up at the gate a few minutes before the park opens. If you want to ride the Matterhorn...quickly head over - you can probably get on without a wait. Don't walk through Tomorrowland on the way to Matterhorn, take the main walkway after the
Tomorrowland entrance and before you reach the castle area. I think it will be exciting to be there on May 5th!!

We are hoping to go on about the 2nd May first to get on as many rides as possible then maybe attend either the 5th or 6th May to enjoy the celebrations, at least that way Tyler (2 year old) won't be disappointed if the rides are too crowded, well that's the plan anyway!!!

What's the weather like in May? Will it be warm and sunny?
