So sorry Mike,

It looks like Air Canada has dropped the evening flight from Orlando to Toronto! I searched a number of dates and the only options were 8:00 am or 12:15 pm! Sure hope they return a later flight to the schedule!

I checked our flights but they don't reflect the change!

They still show us as coming back at 1:30 but when I plug in the dates there is not 1:30 flight!

Could prove interesting!

Yikes...you guys are scaring me with all these AC changes being posted...so I just checked the AC site (again) and my flights don't exist any more. Time for a call to AC. :(

Yes...they have all changed. They offered to change my flights or refund my money. I'm so confused...don't know what to do but have to decide quickly. So much for booking so far in advance & paying more thinking you have the "perfect" flights. Thanks everyone for posting about these changes or I'd never have known.

Oh & just adding that I was told flights/times will probably change again before we leave. This is NOT fun.

I decided to call because still got the "Technical Difficulty" for our December Flights!

Those changed also!

October was no longer there but my flight # changed!

DD says, "No Flight, hey at least we are in Orlando!" Very Funny!

I had them send off new emails!

It's like playing "Roulette"!

Well I just rebooked ours but I'm really ticked off. I had originally paid about $250 more to get the flights I wanted (direct flight from Ottawa to Orlando) and later flight home. Now we're transferring in Toronto both ways & I know those options were much cheaper originally. Had I known this would happen, I would have just booked the cheapest flights available at the time (booked in May)...of course there's no refund on my "overpayment". I wish there were other options for me now but from Ottawa, we're limited...Westjet is about $300 more. :(

I was told again that flights will probably change before we leave...what fun. :(

I wasn't able to view my flights on-line either Janet..."Technical Difficulties". :(

At least AC only changes their flights every 2 months or so (usually). NW seems to change them almost weekly. Lots of fun to keep up with when you're trying to keep track of changes for clients.

Oh my gosh what is going on with AC  . I hope everyone's flights get sorted out. I was planning on travelling again in Feb. and I think I'm going to try a different airline this time.

Disneylisa I know how you feel. I also booked way in advance and paid more for the flight I wanted, and then that flight dissapeared. I just hope my new flight doesn't change!

Reading you all, I thank God I didn't book with AC. Not only were they more expensive but with all the problems they've had and still have...I didn't want to take the chance. Still...spent so much time comparing where to fly from (Ott or Mtl), companies (and type of planes used!!!!) but mostly flight times to get the most of our vacation.... finally booked with US Airways but I still don't know if it was a good thing...guess I'll find out! Has anyone ever flown US Airways?

Still....I'M GOING TO DISNEY WORLD!!!!:Pinkbounc :

I wish we had better options from Ottawa. I rebooked with connecting flights in Toronto but I'm thinking I'd rather go through Montreal..I don't like having to switch between Terminal 1 & 2 in Toronto with a 2.5 hour layover in order to do it. :( We'd save 1 hour of travel time transferring in Montreal. Is everything in one terminal there? I've never flown through Montreal.

Another option is to drive to the US and take a flight from there (we'd save about $600 CAD :) ) but you just never know what the weather will be like in March so don't think I want to risk it. :(

Montreal is all in one terminal. It can be quite a walk to get to customs but you don't have to take a bus or go outside. I think the reason for the long layover is because you have to go through customs.
I had to switch terminals at Pearson the first day the new terminal opened and I almost missed my connecting flight! It took forever for them to transport passengers and luggage. I'm sure they've gotten their act together by now though.

Lisa I actually think that it's only one terminal. Only time I've flown from Montreal was within Canada but as I remember it it's only one... they used to only fly US and Canada so it's not as big or confusing for that matter as Toronto. To make sure, check the website. Don't know exact address but a quick look thru Google for Montreal airports (Dorval is now Pierre-Elliot-Trudeau airport)é

I didn't specify in my message before but decided to fly from Ottawa...I work there and my mom's there so it's less of a hassle! That also means that the dog and cat will spend less time at the vet or kennel ???? ...well, arrangements still haven't been decided. Would anyone have suggestions for a good place in the Ottawa region (inc. Quebec side)?
Hope this helps!

Just a note to everyone flying from Toronto! Make sure to verify the terminal with the airport or the company. Was there in May and my electronic ticket said that the flight was from Terminal x (don't remember which one) when it was in fact departing from another one. Thank god the driver of the shuttle bus told me it was wrong and I chose to listen to him!!!!

Hi,
Can anyone tell me how to check my flight times on the AC website? I'm flying to Orlando from Toronto on Oct 26 and returning Nov 6. I'm just not sure where to go on the site to see if there have been any changes. After reading all these posts, I'm getting a little nervous!

Thanks so much!

And thanks, filet1970, for the tip re checking about the terminal number! I wouldn't have thought of doing this at all!

Go to the AC website and plug your dates in.

Then check against the flight #'s that show up.

If you booked thru a TA then have her check to make sure your flights are OK!

Our flight has been changed about 5 times now we are bouncing between times and flight numbers.

I checked my intinerary on the web site and found out that there are two more changes we have not been notified about so another letter will arrive soon.

My DU in Vancouver who is flying out of Seattle to meet us at WDW is also experiencing the same thing with his flight in October.

Anyone who had a ZIP flight as part of their itinerary will have had a change of some kind, as ZIP is now ZILCH, ZERO, NADA etc.

OTOH if your flight doesn't leave for a couple of months, don't worry - you're bound to have at least one more sked change between now and then anyway.

Nice to see that not much has changed with Air Canada since I left. I was an Elite member of their frequent flyer club at one point, however, since moving to Hong Kong, I have switched to Cathay Pacific - never been happier - and the service is fantastic.

The switch was actually done at the recommendation of an Air Canada customer service representative. My family and I were returning from Hong Kong in 2002, and wanted to sky check a baby stroller. They told me that I could not because of Hong Kong airport regulations. I was told I would have to check it at the check-in desk. Since we had been in Hong Kong for 4 months, we had a lot of luggage to bring back - but I made sure we are not over the limit by posting back any excess. After checking in the stroller, they told be the excess baggage charge would be HK$900 (Approx Cdn$180). I was shocked. I told them that no airline including theirs charged for a baby stroller as excess baggage. After arguing for 30 minutes, I agreed to pay and take the issue up back in Toronto.

Upon my return to Toronto, I tried to phone customer service - no can do - there is no phone to customer service - only email or fax. I tried to visit their head office in the Air Canada center - no customer service there. I went to the airport - no customer service there. The only customer service was in Calgary - and only by phone or email. This actually worked to my advantage.

I emailed CS in Calgary - and was told that it was indeed Air Canada's policy to charge for baby strollers. I was also told that I would not be getting a refund. I informed them that their competition does not charge, a fact they disputed. I then sent a note to Cathay Pacific asking their policy. Not only did Cathy confirm that they do not charge, they also confirmed that you are allowed to gate check the stroller in Hong Kong. I emailed Air Canada back with this information, and asked why they have a very non-competitive policy in place. The response, and I quote from the written email:

"If you like the service that Cathay offers so much more than that of Air Canada, then I would suggest that you should fly with them in the future"

Well - I did. Commuting between Toronto and Hong Kong at least once per month, the next number of flights was done on Cathay. On the very first fligth, they upgraded me from Business Class to First Class. After 6 months, I had my new Sapphire card from One World - equivalent to Air Canada Elite. I pulled out the old email from the Air Canada customer service representative - and proceed to respond as follows:

"Thank you very much for the advice. As you can see by the photo of my One World card below, I have taken your airlines advice, and must say that it has been the best advice that any company has ever offered."

I cc'd the note to Robert Milton as well. That was the last I ever heard from Air Canada, and have not stepped on an Air Canada jet since.

Welcome back to the DIS Glenn...I've been wondering what happened to you. :)

Letters to "Customer Solutions" can only be sent via fax or snail mail now (they no longer accept email) and on the advice of two of the Air Canada representatives I spoke with, I faxed them a letter. I wasn't holding my breath that they'd do anything when I sent it and now after reading your post, I know it was probably a waste of time. Oh well...at least it made me feel better. ;)

We are going early November and our departure flights changed by 15 minutes. On our return which we are not counting down! we are now going through Montreal instead of To. Which means I get to have coffee with my uncle..

Unless after 10 days at Disney I need something stronger! to think about that 4 letter word that pays for all of this..............

We're going around Easter. I booked the flights in July. YYZ to MCO. It was booked as a 7 am YYZ departure on the front end and 7 pm MCO departure on the back end.

I checked yesterday:

7 am YYZ departure has been moved back 3 hours.

7 pm MCO departure has been moved up 4 hours. (There is still a flight departing at 7 pm but the flight number that corresponds with my tickets shows as the ealier departure.)

These times don't work for us: we wanted to get to WDW early enough that we can enjoy the afternoon there and we are leaving on Easter Sunday and wanted to spend the afternoon at WDW before coming home.

Any suggestions on whether to change the flights now or wait in case they change flights again. I'm thinking that if I make the change now, I have a better chance of getting an alternate flight that works.

In any event, a lesson here is that, if you've booked your tickets, don't just check the flight times....make sure you also check that the flight corresponds to the flight number that appears on your tickets.

I would phone A/C and speak with an agent.

If you booked thru a TA have them call.

This way you can change the flight back now just in case they don't change it again!LOL:rolleyes:

Well...for all those AC ticket holders, take comfort...you're not alone! After getting back to Montreal, I checked my e-mails...3 from Expedia....major changes to my US airways tickets... my departing flight was cancelled and I'm booked for a flight departing 5hrs later. First day at WDW is pretty much in the water...Expect I won't get to POR before 8pm at least.
US airways is ready to fully reimburse me:D... but the only appealing tickets ($ and times) were with AC....but in checking further the 9h35pm flight leaving Orlando was suddenly changed to 16h40 so I'm pretty much stuck with what I have. :(
Crossing my fingers for no further changes!
