My neighbor was over last week. She remarked how beautiful and healthy my parsley was. I had planted it for the butterflies with no intention of harvesting it. She was telling me of how she dries hers in her dehydrator. An ah ha moment happened as I remembered I had a dehydrator that a friend gave me about 10 years ago. It has never been out of the box. Wow! I successfully dried enough parsley for me and many of my friends. Boy is there a real difference from the stuff you get in the tiny jars. Since I already had the dehydrator out I decide to try tomatoes. OMG. Are they delicious!!! Who knows what I might try next.

I wish those "ah ha!" moments would happen to me more often!! :teeth:
That's great Chessie, what an excellent idea!! :) Let us know what other stuff you end up trying.
A friend of ours has a dehydrator, and he used to use it a lot. The guys would go on an annual canoe trip, and he'd dehydrate mostly fruit (apricots, apples, and I think banana slices) to take with them. :)

I think we need to invest in a dehydrator ourselves. When my husband wants to make pork jerky, we borrow my aunty's dehydrator. If we had one, I would make dried bananas, strawberries, persimmions...
