Okay, I have read some posting that touch this issue, but I'd love a little more information. I'll be visiting WDW for 2 weeks followed my 2 days at Universal. We are staying on property while at Disney then moving to a hotel that's closer to Universal for the last part. I have looked into shuttle service and taxis and the like to just cart us around from MCO to Disney and Disney to Universal, but that just seems like a pain and very inflexible. I like the idea of renting a car for the whole trip so that we can be very spontaneous in when and where we want to travel around the World, too. I mean, I don't want to be stuck hassling with Disney transportation at MK when we get the itch to go to BB in the middle of week 2.

But, now I hear about this idea of renting 2 cars, one from MCO to Disney, then dropping it off and renting another when we want to go to Universal at the end. I know nothing about Disney transportation and maybe I'm not giving it enough credit. What have your experiences been taking the buses/boats/monorail everywhere over driving, and what is it like to rent cars at the ends of your trip but not in the middle?

how many people are in your group - sometimes renting a car for the entire stay is not that much more - but for two weeks it probably would be expensive.

BB does not have it own bus - you ride the AK bus to get to BB.

TL you ride the DD bus. ( I think at the TTC it does say TL).

most of the time I think WDW transportation is pretty great - you just get on the bus on your choice and they do the driving.

I don't always use the buses - because my cat stays at FW kennels - bus/monrail/boat transportation is pretty wonderful going to the parks - but resort to resort is not.....I stay at OKW and I have to go to FW about 3 (sometimes 5) times a day - so I drive. Last time we were at MK and went to FW - it took us around 30 minutes to get to the kennel bus transportation - and about 1 1/2 hours to get back - bus/boat transportation. Won't do that again....

If you rent on a daily basis, on the fourth or fifth day it becomes cheaper to go with a weekly rate. So if you have a need for a car for those number of days then consider the weekly rate. If you are only going to use a car for one or two days then the daily rate would be the way to go.
