Recommend free email site?

Can anyone recommend a site that offers free email accounts, and is not too slow and is usually up? I've heard people complain that YAHOO is very slow and that some of the others aren't very reliable.

I use Yahoo, Hotmail, and go.com for email.

I haven't had any trouble with Yahoo. Hotmail, however, is bombarded with spam. I don't even use it anymore.

I love yahoo. I have to agree that hotmail is swamped with spam.

mail.com has been bombarded with spam.
they are also in the process of "upgrading" their systems, which causes up to 8 hour delays in getting your mail.
not good.
