Would love any advice on this one. My DS (7&8) have some great outgrown coats/snowsuits/suits/shoes/shirts, some pants (they don't seem to hold up well :) ) and I was thinking of listing them on ebay in lots. Wasn't sure the best way to break them up. Then I thought about just consigning them. There is a shop in the next town that is strictly kids clothing. I haven't been in the shop yet- I once worked in a consignment sponsored by a church and they practically gave things away- so I want to check out their pricing. If the shop prices in the $3-$10 range (I'm just guessing here) which way would you go? Help please :( .

Personally, I would ebay the snowsuits and coats, and maybe the shoes if they were like new. The rest I would probably consign or give to the Goodwill. I think of it this way..... I may be willing to pay $10-15 for a good coat or snowsuit.... if it costs $5 to ship I might bid up to $10. So you would stand to make about $10 (not including ebay fees). But for the same fees you may only clear a dollar or two for the other items, if you were lucky. Maybe in lots you could do better. ......................P

I just ebayed a lot of my DD's clothing and it sold for $68. Not bad for something I normally pass on for free. I had mostly all name brand clothes though and in grteat shape.

If it's in good condition, a high dollar item or a name brand...I'd EBAY it. Consignment shops hardly offer ANYTHING!

Id go thru it and the items that are in good condition I would EBAY.. I normally go thru the kids clothes and items that may have spots or show some wear, etc I take to goodwill.. All others I do try to sell on Ebay. I would think coats, snowsuits, etc would sell if they are in good condition. Just make sure if there is something wrong or imperfect on them to list that in the description.

My wife has done pretty well selling good, used children's clothing on eBay. She usually packages ten or so items in a single lot vs. selling each item individually. She guesses that makes double on eBay than what she would at a consignment shop.
