Extra day price on rental cars

I have been checking rental car prices for our trip in Feb. While the weekly rate has increased what you might expect from last year , the extra day rate really took a hike IMHO. Hertz went from 21.85 to34.99. Has anyone else experienced this? I am hoping to find some deals but most everthing I have seen expires in Dec. Just checking to see if anyone has any thoughts on this topic:)

The normal thing they do is charge you the rack rate for that extra day. So if your extra day is a weekday it can get expensive.
