Has anyone stayed here and if so what was your opinion of the resort? Also was it easy access to WDW? We are a family of six and although staying onsite at Disney definately has its advantages we decided to stay offsite because it is definately easier on the wallet.

It's a nice resort. Are you getting a two bedroom? Getting back at the end of the day can sometimes take a bit of time, but not bad.

Depending on the rate you got from Marriott and when you're going, you may be able to rent points from a DVC member and stay onsite at a DVC resort for about the same amount of $$.

Also very nice and much closer than Cypress Harbour is the Sheraton Vistana. It's just on the other side of I-4 from Downtown Disney. They do regular rentals (pretty expensive) or you can often find weeks on sites like Skyauction as long as you're not looking for Christmas or Easter.

We had 2 2-bedroom units at Marriott Cypress Harbour a couple of years ago. We really enjoyed it. There were lots of free activities at the resort (bingo, scavenger hunt, arts & crafts, etc) that my kids (3, 5) enjoyed on "off" days. My nephews (10-14) liked the game room, fishing, non-motor boat rentals, and of course all the games/actiivties at the main pool. I think it took us an average of 15 minutes to get to WDW parks.

Yes we are getting a two bedroom. I don't think I could have gotten a better rate than what I got (though I am not sure). I got a rate of $650.00 for a week, that it includes taxes. Could I have gotten a better rate? This works out to be around $94-$95.00 a night. Thanks for all the replys.

That's a great rate! You'll have a wonderful time. Best thing is having the kitchen and washer/dryer. Don't need to pack as many clothes, more room for souvenirs on the way home!
