DC EA expiration - is that to GET membership or to USE it?

The free DC Emerald Aisle membership offer expires Sep 1. We're going in late September. Does the MEMBERSHIP expire Sep 1, or do you just have to get the card by then, and it expires a year later?

I think it's to get the membership. As far as I know EA never expires...

Yes, that is the expiration for free membership. I called last week to request a membership form and it came in the mail today marked FEE WAIVED. We plan to use national for our Sept trip.
