Disney Club Question: To Join Or Not?

I can get a discounted membership to the Disney Club, thru my entertainment book. I am not staying onsite, but will be purchasing three 4-day park hopper passes. I cna get the membership for $31.95. The 5% savings on passes would be $28.80. What other discounts would I get at WDW and the Disney Store. My wife and I shop at the Disney Store, quite a bit. Thanks for any information, or opinions on whether or not to join.

If you shop at the Disney store I think it would definitly be worth while. Right now they are offering double discounts to DC members at Disney stores.

I have a disney club card and it's great. But there are pros and cons. I too shop at the disney store often and disneystore.com and get 10% off my purchases. To me, this discount makes up for the $30 membership fee. I order all of the disney DVD's and get a discount everytime. That certainly adds up.

One con is the fact that getting a discount for a trip to WDW is hard. There are a lot of restrictions and you have to be travelling at the right time to get a discount on a package. Since you are not staying on site, that won't be a problem for you.

You also get 10% off your purchases at the world of disney in downtown disney so we usually go to the store one afternoon and shop til we drop and get a great discount. Hope that helps you make a decision. :)

We have decided to join. I called and they said that they would email my information to me. I appreciate the advice regarding the resort discounts. In the future, we hope to be able to afford staying on-site.

Is the 10% off at the Disney Stores also on clearanced items? I already have an annual pass and am trying to decide if it's worth joining the DC. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Yes, the discount is on TOP of the clearance price! I was there last weekend and took advantage of the 20% discount promotion. I saved a lot of money.

Yes, You can buy tickets at the Disney Store at a Reduced rate with your Disney Club Card. I think you have to buy at least the 4 day Hopper and I think the 5-day Hopper is just a little bit more than the 4-day Hopper (with the DC discount). When they have special promotions (such as 20% off, like they did last week), then the Special Promotion DOES NOT count for Park Tickets.
