Brian -

I wouldn't.

Technically the nametags belong to the company and you must return them. In practice, they might not be returned, (I have about 3 of my own) but Disney would have the right to conficate it, and probably would if they saw a cast nametag on a person who was not in costume.

I would STRONGLY NOT recommend it.

No excatly .... but once when I was wearing a red ovel "honered guest" name tag (the ones WDW used to sell) a guest handed me a park pass they had found, saying they hoped it get back to the person who lost it. I didn't want to embarssis them, soI thanked them and turned it in to a real CM.

I have to second what Judy Sue said. While wearing a lanyard, I've had people come up to me thinking I'm a CM. If you're wearing a CM name tag, it would be REALLY hard to explain that you are not a CM.

Don't do it I had my nametag, which was made just for me with my name on it, and my trusty lanyard on. One night while I was getting my Atlantis pin at MGM… A little boy came up to me and wanted me to trade my Tokyo light up for a Mickey trading pin. I explained that I was not trading my pins tonight (very politely I might add).... Well next thing I knew I had a nasty parent in my face ordering me to trade my pins or else, the whole time poking my nametag. I tried to point out that I was not a CM but to no avail, he insisted on talking to my supervisor, so I said they were in Chicago (that's where my company is) that did go as I had planned.

I explained one last time took my tag off and walked away… was it over you ask Nooooooo way. The gentleman grabbed a manager and wondered the park until he found me again, and well it started all over again.

I was asked not to wear the tag again since it was indeed Disney property. The parent made out as well his child was given a handful of cast pins that were brought out… Did I get any? Well because I'm so darned cute and made everybody smile, they decided to give me…….. NOTHING, and it bites.

Moral of my tale don't do it.

Man!

You wonder what zoo some guests escaped from!
Or, let me not call it a zoo, that would be insulting to the animals.
