Has anyone ever used them? If so how was the experience? They are on-site at MCO.

Thanks,

Dave

I was one of the people who used them (or tried to) during Easter break a few years ago. We had rented two mini-vans and when we got there, they said they only had compacts. (for 10 people) They said people failed to return minivans so they didn't have any to give out. If this had happened with another company, I'm sure some other arrangement could've been worked out. (like take the smaller cars and the next day they'll switch them out, or they could've shuttled us or referred us to another company)

We not only needed them for WDW (for a few days) but also to drive to VB for a week.

Luckily, Avis was able to give us vans (this was now around 11pm) and didn't gouge us on the price.

While I know some have not had problems, I personally would never give them a second chance. (even during a slower time) While the lack of minivans was something they said was out of their control (which I don't believe btw) their lack of response to the problem is what did them in to me. Their attitude was take it or leave it, so we walked. They would not even respond to emails after the fact.

If you want to go with them, have a back up reservation just in case!Perhaps they have improved - I have no idea. I now rent with National's Emeral Isle.

How is national's emerald aisle service for Mini Vans? How many are generally there to choose from?

Thanks,

Dave

I have used L&M many, many times over the years. I always get the car I reserved with no problems. The price has always been cheaper than any other company onsite. I always go during a slow time.

I tried L&M once several years ago. When they tried to give me a Corrolla as a full size I questioned them on it. Thier repsonse. "It's a full size this week" When I pushed I discovered that when they get busy they "resize" the cars. This was President's Day week.

They also will make you buy insurance unless you bring proof of your home insurance, my Diners Card was not good enough for them.

I walked to Hertz.

You actually book MiniVans using Emerald Reserve. Works the same way as Emerald Aisle, but you go to the Mini Van aisle instead of the EA aisle.

Oh, I get it now.........I was resized! ;) We laugh about it now but at the time, no one was laughing. We refer to it as our "Seinfeld Rental Car Moment".

Dave - we have rented minivans from National with their Emerald Reserve. You get to pick the van out from the van aisle in the garage.

When we don't need a large car, then we go with Intermediate/Emerald Aisle.
