is summer over?

It feels like fall out there these past few days. I have even seen some leaves on a few trees that have turned. This is August, that is not supposed to happen yet. Fall is my absolute favorite time of the year but I am not ready for it to come. I have truly been enjoying my yard this year. I have even enjoyed mowing and weeding. It has been great therapy for me. I'm already planning next years projects.

Today was one of the nicest days of the summer. We haven't really had good weather. It would have been a great day for a bike ride or mowing the lawn. So, how did we spend it? Going to a Yankee game and getting sunburnt. Which would have been fine except for the fact that they LOST!!! :mad:

It sure does, Chessie! In fact it's felt like Fall for a few weeks, around here. Not the best summer we've ever had, that's for sure!!

A couple of good things about the cooler weather...it's been great for sleeping (no AC needed), and my grass is looking pretty good.

I have started taking apart some of my containers, though. Quite a few of them are looking tired and over the hill....kind of like me.....:teeth:

Some of my containers are looking pretty sad too...was just thinking yesterday that it may be time to visit the compost pile.

I'm ready for cooler, crisp temps.
