anyone fly them before?? If prices don't rise when the flights come out for Feb. looks like my family and I will be flying to FL for 178.00 per person round trip to Jacksonville. Looks like from their web site they will be flying into Orlando soon.

Have not flown them, but I have heard they are quite good - comparable to jet blue as far as service.

We flew them on memorial day. Only then they were called "Atlantic Coast Airlines"
We flew To/From Dulles airport to Greenville-Spartanburg SC airport.
Review:
The planes were clean, smallish (non-prop, though). Sat about 50 people.
The flight attendants were helpful.
On the return trip, they had a terrible time getting a disabled person off the plane so we could get on.
Then the ground crew had a big problem getting the luggage balanced properly in the hold.
I do not know if this is the airline or airport's fault.
The Flight attendant was great working with us, turning it into a lot of fun and making sure connecting flights were going to be made.
Long story short a big storm managed to settle in over Dulles and we were delayed another hour in the air.
This allowed all the connections to be made, but if the plane had left on time it wouldn't have been an issue.
I would fly them again, all in all.
Jim
PS, the same flight I paid $240 for is now about $125, since they changed the name.

JIM!
I am assuming that you flew to Spartanburg before you had such good friends in NC.... Only an accountant would remember what he paid several years ago for a plane ticket. (I realize that you probably still have the records of this trip filed neatly away somewhere...........)
I found out last week that they fly to Greensboro, NC, also, which is our airport of choice. We will be using them for college visits in the next two months - they are generally 20% cheaper than the best flights I can find online.

I just used them yesterday and today for flights from JFK to RDU.
All of the employees I came in contact with were great. The flights left on time.
Both flights today got in 20 minutes early.
There's only on flight attendent on the fllights. They have famous people do the emergency announcements while the FA acts everything out.
I was able to change my flight from DC to JFK for free.
I was shocked to see how small the planes are.
They will start flying coast to coast with new airbus planes this fall.
They will install TVs like Jetblue next spring.
They will start flying to MCO in October.
I have to return to Raleigh again in September and October for two more weddings. I plan to use Independence Air for both flights.
I want to book them for our Christmas flights, but the web site won't allow me book from JFK to MCO, only DC to MCO.

Luggage handling for Indepence is probably outsouced to the service at the Greenville airport (as would be the equipment needed to assist with a disabled passenger).
