$302 for two people round trip? Sounds good to me.

AirTran is a lowcost carrier, so don't expect too much. They reportedly don't rank very high in customer service, but I've never had a problem with them. They fly a combination of older 727s and DC-9s which they are phasing out for brand new 717s.

We'll be flying out of PHL to MCO on airtran in November.
$205.00 per person. You got a good rate. But so did I for November, now they want $300.00 for my same roundtrip flights.

My family is flying out of Philadelphia to Orlando in October with AirTran. The four of us are flying for $564, including all taxes and surcharges, we paid $141. per person. The price has since then gone up to $772 total! I was also hesitant about flying a "smaller" airline, but with the reassurance from friends that work at FAA, all airlines must pass the same requirements and standards! I've read just as many complaints about the major airline carriers on these boards as I have the "no-frills" airlines!

I have flown AirTran several times to Orlando from Philly with no problems. We had a long delay once but only because we were connecting in Atlanta and there were fog delays there. But overall you shouldn't find any problems that you wouldn't have at any airline you choose.

You may want to take note, however, that there is another airline called Trans Air. These can be easily confused, and we have witnessed many people who were standing in line to check suddenly realize their were at the wrong airline.
