HMH moving?

Is the rumor that Haunted Mansion Holiday will be moved to Walt Disney World from DLR in 2005 true???

There are rumors to that effect, though the current rumor is that Tokyo Disneyland will get it next year, with WDW getting it in 2006.

Very, very doubtful. HMH brings in waaay too much business for DLR for them to get rid of it. It'd be like moving Food and Wine Festival from Epcot to DCA. What had been mentioned was that when they finally decide to do HMH at WDW, DL would no longer do the merchandise event.

Actually, I dont think the plan is to move it, but rather to duplicate it in Tokyo and WDW.

What does HMH consist of ? I assume it's different from MNSSHP, could WDW do both ?

I think it will be part of MNSSHP.

The original plan was to bring it to WDW this year. The Mansion was supposed to be shut down during my honeymoon, but they moved the budget for that to put some more money into Stitch. Anyway, closed in September, I'd HAVE to assume it would be done, and ready to be opened for the Halloween. How could they have a halloween party without the mansion!!!!

Last I'd heard was that it would open next year at Disney World.

Its a Holiday overlay for the Haunted Mansion based on The Nightmare Before Christmas. I understand that it quite elaborate and the result is a complete retheming off the masion for the 2 months the have the overlay in place. Right now they only do it for Disneyland, but it has been wildly successful there.

Word from my good collector friend, who is selling his collection for the most part, is that there will be a HMH in Tokyo in 2004.
I just heard this 10 minutes ago.

While there was no offical announcement, but the latest issue of Disney Magazine made it really seem like they are doing the HMH overlay at Tokyo this year.
In Disneyland, HMH generally runs from the first weekend in October through the first weekend in January. Since they've been doing it for a while now, I think it only takes about 3 weeks for setup and take down now.

The rumor I heard was that WDW was NOT getting HMH. It was offered to them but they passed on it to use the money on other projects such as replacing AE for Stitch.
