Has anyone been during the February school vacation? It is the week of Presidents day February 21 this year. Is it crowded and also do they not give discounts for these time periods??? ever???? Am i holding out for nothing or should I just book at the rack rate before they sell out??? Please, any advice is extremely helpful. thanks.

This past Feb. we were there. Hotels were booked for the weekend and there were small crowds at US and IOA. We had the park to ourselves after Pres. Day the entire week. We went over to Disney 1 day and did not return because we could not move it was so crowded.

We arrived this year on Presidents' Day. The only room I could get for four nights was a King Suite at RPR for $299 per night. I could not apply any discount to this room. We didn't think the crowds were too bad, but, of course, we had FOTL.

I notice that next year my son's February break is the week before Presidents' Week. We are taking a Disney Cruise.

We have gone two years during Pres week and while I can't speak for the room rates, or even the crowds, what I will say is that if you can go try to make sure you plan to stay a Saturday night and catch the Mardi Gras parade. It's great!

I hope more people answer about the crowd situation.

I *might* take my nephew in January, but was also thinking of going during Pres Week so he wouldn't miss school (that's a big thing with my brother). Discounts would be good, too, but my biggest question is crowds. My first trip to US was either President's Day or the day after in 2002 and I didn't think it was too bad or am I crazy?

Anyone else have an opinion??? I'd love to hear from more people!!

February is a great month to visit. I've gone many times and crowds are light. Most of the time, they don't even turn on FOTL until the afternoon. Temps are 55 in the morning, 75 in the afternoon, and all rides run.
President's day is not an official holiday for most companies. Kids may be out of school, but parents work, and most are paying off Christmas bills.
I'm looking at the Osceola calendar (Orlando Schools) and Presidents day isn't even listed as a holiday. Orlando may be going to school that Monday. It appears they have Friday the 18th off instead.
Go, you'll have a great time.

Oh dear we are there 17th & 18th, after our Disney Cruise, so if the schools are off it wont be as quiet as we were expecting.

Scotfan:

Are you on the February 13th Disney Wonder Cruise?

We're on it too!

Can't wait!

Yes we are on the Wonder on the 13th. We are all really looking forward to it. Me DH 2 DS age 7 & 10 and my parents (who are only doing Disney for the Grandkids lol) We have cruised P&O and Princess before but never Disney.
We are going to RPR for 1 night after the cruise before a week at Vistana.
It could be our last trip over the pond for a while as DS starts secondary school soon afterwards, so we are going to make the most of it.
