"Meal Plus" Program
The Animal Kingdom "Meal Plus" Program allows you to purchase a special voucher at any Animal Kingdom counter service restaurant (Restaurantosaurus, Flame Tree Barbecue, Pizzafari, or Tusker House) that entitles you to the following:
counter service meal with small drink (non-alcoholic) - one reader reports consistently getting LARGE drinks
coupon for a box of popcorn or an ice cream
coupon for a bottle of water
The cost is $11.99 for adults and $5.99 for kids, which is quite a good deal considering that the higher-priced counter service meals alone can set you back that much, once you add the drink. The vouchers are only good the day you purchase them.
MouseSavers.com reader Elizabeth offers these additional tips for using the Meal Plus vouchers:
"I have a friend who worked at Pizzafari and she pointed out to me that the pizzas that come in the kids meal are the same size as the ones that are on the regular (adult) menu. So, if pizza is what you are craving for lunch, I would recommend buying the kids' meal voucher since you will end up with the same amount of food. Also, at Pizzafari (and possibly other Animal Kingdom food locations) if you order a soft drink with a kid's meal you will get a small child's size drink, but if you order fruit juice, you get a full regular size bottle, not a juice box. If you follow this tip you could end up getting one individual size pizza, two full size beverages and an ice cream or popcorn for only $5.99! What a deal!"
Even the adults don't include an appetizer but it is a good deal, I've found that it's best to get them early in the day as it's hard to use all the soda & ise cream coupons. Often we end up picking something up on the way out of the park just to use them up.
