There are 4 of us; 2 adults, 10y/o ds and 14y/o dd, and we will be in WDW from 1/2-1/7.
We are planning only four actual days in the parks.
We would like to do two character breakfasts and maybe one dinner at O'Hana but for the rest of the time we will eat counter service or offsite.
None of us are really big eaters so meal sharing is an option too.
What do you think? How much would you budget with this plan? TIA!

THis is the best "hint" I have to offer for planning a food budget. Take a look at the menus and make a rough guess as to what people may order... If you're unsure, at least you can see the price ranges. If it's a sit down restaurant.. don't forget to budget for tips!

We always take a back pack with snacks in it. Granola bars, trail mix, fruit snacks, and our own water. This helps us stretch our meals out further. Meal sharing is easy to do in the park. At counter service, we would order 1 kids meal to split between one kid and an adult. With having teens, they may or may not eat an entire kid meal. There is alot of food in almost all the meals. We have even forgone actual meals for an egg roll or piece of fruit (between $2 (eggroll) and $1 (fruit))
The hardest thing for us isn't the meals, but the "extras" Ice cream is very tempting when you are hot. All those pastries smelling up the air and popcorn is everywhere. I can make a meal on a box of popcorn, so not too bad at $2.50 if you look at it as a meal rather than a snack.
Have fun! :earsgirl:

We are planning a nice meal every day....
But for our family... DH (who has to eat), DW (can survive on water & popcorn),
DS & DD (they both munch away) we are planning $150 per day.
That includes breakfast in our room - except for 3 mornings (Cindy's if we get it,
Kona after Mass, and O'Hana's character breakfast on our last day).
$150 will be too much on most days - but the extra $$'s can be turned into
take-out dinner when we get home -or more soveniers before we leave.
Good luck !

I've used this to plan our meals and budget. It's a great tool!

I woudl suggest the chinese pavillion in Epcot for some really good priced and large portioned meals. My fiance and I shared teh sweet and sour pork and fried rice and were both full.
take snacks with you, the only breakfast we ate out was a character meal at the GF. Otherwise we ate in our room or had nurtagrain bars and juice on the bus!
