Hi! Anyone know where you can get some of the glow-in-the-dark neon sticks/necklesses or battery operated light up stuff that's good for night time at the parks? I'd like to buy it at home (for less $$$) and bring them than pay inflated prices at the parks.

Ummm...this is for BF and I, we don't have kids. Hey, show me where it's writen that we HAVE to grow up! :teeth:

TIA! :wave2:

Our local dollar store has all sorts of Glow in the Dark Items. Light Sticks, Necklaces, Bracelets etc. You normally get 2 (necklacess) to 4(bracelets) items for $1. Much cheaper than what Disney charges.

I found some battery operated glow sticks at Walmart. They were with the flashlights in Sporting Goods. I believe they were around $2.50 or $3.00. Packaging said they would last about 24 to 36 hours of continued use, they have an on/off switch and come in assorted colors.

I bought a large container from ebay. (glowgranny, I think) We passed a bunch out on the boatride from MGM to Epcot and still have some left for our next trip!

There's a company called Oriental Trading that they sell by the unit. I am not sure if they have a web site. Probably do.

Ok, this is a coincidence, but my order of glow braclets JUST arrive and I gave both of my DSs one already (it's even still day time!!!).

No, you don't have to grow up, I wanted to "play with" the bracelets so I just used the excuse that I was giving them each one.

Ok, I posted a questions a while back about "Illuminationz.com". You could do a search if you want. Well, after positive comments and ordered from them. GREAT product (but you need to buy in bulk). I think the smallest order is 100, but we plan on giving a lot of them away.

We ended up getting 500 for $27.50. However, with shipping the total was $39. Still, we got 500 OF THEM!!!! I can't remember the price for 100. Sorry.

I'm pretty sure their webpage is Illuminationz.com (notice the "z"). If not, just do a search and you'll find them.

I have bought on ebay from both of the companies/people previously mentioned with no problems (Illuminationz and GlowGranny). They are definitely cheaper by the pieces than Oriental Trading, even considering shipping. But if you don't want such a huge quantity, then go with OT....................P

Edited to add: These things don't have a limitless shelflife, but they will last longer in the freezer I believe. But I wouldn't buy more than I would use in say a year.....................P

Thanks, everyone! I don't want/need to buy in bulk, but the dollar store is a good idea. And I'll check out Wal-Mart and Target, too.

Went to our local supermarket (King Kullen) and found a bubble gum type machine that had all flashing light jewlery. Each piece was .50. DD11 and I ended up with two rings. I want to go back for more....

dont forget the party supply stores!! I live in a Chicago suburb (near great america) and we have a couple different ones, they have lots of options on the glow theme!! (think of the places that sell Halloween merchandise too!)
