Hi. I printed out the list of "codes" that I happen to see posted by FoodLover. I was originally going with National. I received a small discount with Dollar. We will be arriving in Orlando on May 13, staying for about a week.
For a full size, I believe before all the taxes and stuff with Dollar, I got a price of $179.00...I also need a car seat for my daughter. I went into Budget and with one of the "codes" for slightly more money - $199 we can get a Ford Explorer or similar.... What to do?....

have you tried national with the EA? they ahve some good rates and with the DC you can get the free member ship and then you get a coupon for a free day. also try either hotwire for your car or even expedia I have gotten a great rate with expedia! 74.99 a week (that was with all taxes included) for a full size car! I bring my own car seat for my DD so that wasn't an issue. most of the companies charge 5 a day for renting one. you ashould also try asking this question on the transportation board as well. lots of car experts on there!

Tanya--First you have to decide what kind of car you need. SUV (Explorer) and minivans cost more to rent than full size cars. Then go to 2 or 3 car rental agencies (people seem to be getting good rates from National and Dollar) using the codes you see posted here and see where you get your best deal.
You can also try hotwire.

I would also make your ressie and then check back via websites closer to your dates. Last year DH and I were taking 2 teenage boys. I couldn't find a decent rate and booked a fullsize car also - those boys take up a lot of room!
Anyway, about 30 days before our trip last year, Alamo came out with Florida only specials on their website - we ended up with an SUV for 8 days for a little less than the car price!
That being said, I think the $199 you already have quoted is as low as we found - that's a pretty good rate!
