This is probably a dumb question but.......is there one security check point or many? My daughter and I are flying US Air and my son is flying AirTran. (he decided to go at the last minute) I was wondering after we got through security if we could hang out together before we have to go to our separate gates. Thank you. I'm getting nervous already.

I don't remember Phl because it's been a few years and I know they've been making changes up there. MCO has one security area for each airside. US Air is on airside "A" but I don't remember if Air Tran is side "B" or not. Someone else can probably help me out with this. I'll check around on the MCO website.

Oops...I got that backwards. US Air is on airside B and AirTran is on airside A. Here's MCO's website if you want more info....

There's one checkpoint at the Philly airport for domestic flights.

There are several check points for security at PHL. I suggest visiting the airport website.

There are several places to clear security (one for each concourse), but you only need to do so at one. Once you are clear in PHL, the sterile concourses are all connected behind security so you can move freely between them.

This is not the case at MCO, and if you aren't flying out of the same concourse, you'll have to say your goodbyes pre-security.

b & c are together but all the others have seperate security areas. US AIR typically uses C for flights..especially to MCO. I can not say what Airtran uses. Be sure to consult the PHL website at
www.phl.org.

AirTran uses Concourse F at PHL, and it's a completely separate building from the US Air concourses. You'll have to drop off at completely different areas for AirTran and US Air. You won't be able to hang out before the flight at PHL or at MCO, because of the different areas the airlines fly out of.
