eBay Start/End Day/Time ????

Hi all,

I'm celebrating my very first sale
on my very fist item offered up for bid,
yippeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
And a great, big "thank you" to all
the eBayers who posted their advice
on the boards - I listened and learned :D

Now, I know that eBay uses West Coast
(Pacific) Time Zone, and I'm on the East Coast.
And, I've also seen that Sunday-Sunday
auctions do best, with others doing well
Monday-Monday.

Here's my question:
If I want to start and end on a Sunday,
and I don't want to spend the change
eBay charges for submitting my auction
later than I'm entering the info on their site,
do I have any other options other
than staying up until 3:00 a.m.
due to the 3 hour time difference?

I guess the real question is:
Do Sun-Sun bidders actually go all the way
until midnight - or later - (Pacific Time)
on the last Sunday of the auction?
Or can I 'get away with' simply posting
my auction around midnight Eastern Time,
which means it will end at 9:00 p.m. Pacific Time?
(I'm also wondering about posting
my auction(s) early Monday a.m., which will
mean they'd end on the west coast in
the middle of the night...)

Any input is greatly appreciated!! :confused:

I do well with auctions that end around 10-11 PM Eastern time on either Sunday or Monday nights. I think it depends on what you sell (I sell books/ephemera).

I end at 7 pm Eastern and it's always worked for me.

Start and End your auctions what works for you. You really can not cater to one time zone or the other without leaving out those that are in other time zones. So I don't even try.

Since your auctions will end at the same time (of the day) that you start them, start your auctions at a time where YOU can be at the computer to send invoices etc.

I do not have a set time that I start and stop my auctions, other then Sunday afternoon/evening.

You might want to try using Turbolister, you can set your auctions up offline, as many as you want and then when you're ready, just upload them all at once on a sunday or a monday. that way, you don't have to sit there on those evenings, later in the night, working on auctions. I usually set mine up on turbolister during the week and then when the day and time is right, the just get uploaded. It's a free download on ebay or you can request they send you a cd.

what if you have more than 1 auction and you offer discounted shipping? Different lots of clothes for instance. Should you stagger your auctions like one ending at 7:00 another at 7:15 etc. Or just have them all end at the same time?
